Tiger in a Cage of His Own Making

Commented Dec 22, 2009 at 21:36:46 in Sports

“You know I like Tiger. He's cool.
Now he's not a Tiger but a Cheetah.
Still, I like his golf play. Forget about his personal life. None of us are perfect.”

“Republicans(Some not all, of course) have spoken about black people in code ever since the Civil Rights Act in 1963.
Its a shame that now we can't call a spade what it is, a SPADE, with 1. Insurance companies paying off congressional senators and House Reps, to walk the line when it comes to health care reform. 2. For the lobbyists to put out misleading and false one liners out there to gin up fear in what I must admit are a bunch of ignorant(only because these people believe it) people over 65. 3. The people supporting reform have not mobilized to fight back against the false advertising I see on my TV every night, no one in the silent majority who supports single payor(like myself), or even the public option(like myself) is screaming as loud as these folks who are used as pawns in the Health Care debate, by Insurance companies and quoting Jefferson and Washington, without understanding what they are talking about IMOL. While thousands of Americans continue to die because of no health care. This is sad, very sad.”

Blue Dogs, Stop It

Commented Jul 30, 2009 at 12:52:50 in Politics

“Great post. I wish more of MSM would highlight how many of the Blue Dogs are receiving money from the HEALTH CARE LOBBY.
Its a shame that this bribery by the Corporate Health Care Lobby controls so much of this country, while people LITERALLY DIE because of their greed.

Please put the public option back on the table, the days of corporate america stealing from us at the expense of the middle class and poor people are over.

Blue Dog Dems should be ashamed of themselves. I propose that we shame these congressmen/women by showing on MSM DAILY how much money these people receive from the Health care lobby, and why they are really going lock step with what Health Care lobbyists want.

Come on Blue Dogs, people are dying, 150 people are going bankrupt every hour because of health care costs. Have these people no heart? Have they no soul?”

This guy is an ideologue who is funded by big business(as most of these senators are) at least the others have a conscience. This guy is a republican wolf in sheep's clothing.”

“I liked Mickey D's two for 3 buck specials.
I recently had their new burger and was SEVERELY disappointed.
Unless you weigh 85 pounds, and are anorexic it will never fill you up, it is too small, and I will never order the new "Big" hamburger again.
What a waste.
Hopefully they will make the larger burger bigger and stop trying to rip people off.
I will never order a burger from them again, Burger King and Wendy's have much better burgers.
FYI”

“What is amazing is that Obama challenged them to come up with something. They took the bait, and fell flat on their faces!
Obama plays these people like fiddles!
He is toying with them, and the sad part is that they are not even prepared, which tells me they JUST got started working on a budget when Obama called them out, and they had no intention originally of presenting a serious plan for this country.
And they want us to take them seriously?????
Wow, their incompetence, which led to all this mess, is just LAUGHABLE. ha ha ha h a haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaha h aha”

“Decent Republicans are more in big cities in New York, but those Republicans in the South are a bunch of stubborn fool for the most part, because in my informal survey, they actually wanted a Republican because most of the South, especially Texas didn't trust a black man to run the country, even if it was against their interests. If the Dems had a white guy or gal, they also would have carried the South.
Old habits die hard.
But as you said not all Repubs are bad, however, they are paying a steep price for their allowing Bush, his rich contractor buddies, and oilmen to drive this country into a ditch.
The more they talk, propped up by ideologues like Rush and Bachman, the more I laugh at their incompetence!t”

Commented Mar 16, 2009 at 00:30:21 in Politics

“One way to get them is for Obama to sign a directive declaring that if AIG pays bonuses to these idiots, then the government will require that all the money lent to them by the government becomes now DUE IMMEDIATELY.
That should do it.”

SCG replied on Mar 16, 2009 at 00:36:29

“Stop pleading with them, and nationalize AIG.

Let the chips fall where they may, perhaps decisive action by the federal government will put the overloads on Wall Street on notice? They, if we are to believe what we're told, have the fate of our economy in their hands, not to mention the world's

Can you think of a much more graver national security threat than that?

If Truman can threaten to draft into the army, railways workers, to force them not to strike and perform their jobs, out of national security reasons.

This is that on steroids.”

“If the government through emminent domain can take over someone's property to build a rail line, or a highway, they can nullify these contracts. For the Administration to say their hands are tied is a total cop out.
There is no way these thieves should get paid bonuses, they have breached their duty of loyalty to the corporation and for that reason the corporate veil should be PIERCED.
Break up AIG, and take them over, and sell off the company piece by piece. This is ridiculous!”

Jim Cramer, CNBC Ratings Down Since Stewart Attacks Began

Commented Mar 14, 2009 at 06:33:16 in Media

“I saw Cramer on TV today, contrite, soft spoken, and shocked. Clearly he knows that he took a whipping from Stewart, and also knows of the many cowards at CNBC like M. Bartiromo, Kudlow, and Santelli who were too afraid to go on the Daily Show because they weren't man or woman enough to take the beatdown.
I REALLY RESPECT CRAMER FOR TAKING THE BEATDOWN!!!!!
CNBC deserved the beatdown, Cramer deserved the beatdown, but as Stewart said, its sad that Cramer is the poster child for CNBC's complete ARROGANCE, COLLUSION, IGNORANCE and CORPORATE AND HEGEMONIC ZEALOTRY with the forces that THEY allowed to come on their shows day after day, the CEO's the Hedge Fund managers, the brokers, the commentators, the analysts, the oil managers, bugle players at the Mercantile Exchange, that just played the game, lied, knew stuff was going on and contributed by such ignorance, or assistance through omission that CNBC is not respected by ANYONE I KNOW.”

“Something about this story doesn't sound right. The wife's reaction on TV, almost smiling, and even if you let that go then you have 4 athletes going out to sea, hitting rough water, and still fishing(as indicated by the fact that the anchor was down when the boat capsized???). Why didn't they start back?
1. Someone experienced could have capsized that boat after killing all three and making sure that the bodies sunk the necessary 50 feet.
2. An experienced person could have capsized that 21 foot boat easily in the 10-15 foot swells that existed.
3. Even assuming all survived the capsizing and all were clinging to a boat, where is evidence that ALL had life preservers on? IF they did, then it makes the story of everyone not clinging to the boat even that less credible. THESE WERE ATHLETES, they could have easily clung to the boat if all had life preservers on. If they did NOT have life preservers on, then this would be a mitigating factor, i.e. a lot harder to cling to a boat because over time you are trying to stay afloat and clinging to a boat, but then that raises another question: WHY was this guy the only guy with a life preserver???
4. Was everyone drinking? That certainly would be a factor in terms of dehydration.

5. I have alot of questions, a lot. Something about this story STINKS. Just saying...”
