Now he's not a Tiger but a Cheetah.
Still, I like his golf play. Forget about his personal life. None of us are perfect.”

Blue Dogs, Stop It

Commented Jul 30, 2009 at 12:52:50 in Politics

“Great post. I wish more of MSM would highlight how many of the Blue Dogs are receiving money from the HEALTH CARE LOBBY.
Its a shame that this bribery by the Corporate Health Care Lobby controls so much of this country, while people LITERALLY DIE because of their greed.

Please put the public option back on the table, the days of corporate america stealing from us at the expense of the middle class and poor people are over.

Blue Dog Dems should be ashamed of themselves. I propose that we shame these congressmen/women by showing on MSM DAILY how much money these people receive from the Health care lobby, and why they are really going lock step with what Health Care lobbyists want.

Come on Blue Dogs, people are dying, 150 people are going bankrupt every hour because of health care costs. Have these people no heart? Have they no soul?”

There are probably more chumps to go around, I would like to see another article entitled:
"20 chumps that caused McCain to lose."

That article should be a doozie!

I personally thought McCa in looked petty and old and occasionally a little desperate (repeatedly bringing up Reagan & that damn* POW stuff again) but then I am biased 'cause he makes me sick!!!”

“Puma Ann,
You are not a true Hillary supporter because of one of the following:

1. You will vote Republican after voting for Hillary because Palen is female and for no other reason. This does not make sense.
2. You were never a true democrat but a Limbaugh voter who wanted to mess up the elections for a fight in Denver. Still doesnt make sense if in fact you voted for Hillary.
3. You have "other" reasons for not voting for Obama. Now THIS makes sense. But your' re still wrong.

Either way Missy, its your vote and you will throw it away for McSame which is fine. Millions of new voters will take your place and Obama will work just as hard for you as others who will vote against him.”

“I like the comments, it indicates that he understands where he is in this moment of history.
He will be a great asset to Obama, and his Salomon Chase, and Bates-like statements(c. Lincoln) indicates that this duo will WIN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!!”

“I'm sorry. I think you thought I was making fun of Joe. I wasn't. I was teasing Martin Lewis. The words he used aren't Joe Biden's. They are a quote from Winston Churchill. Which is why I was tossing back a play on some more of Churchill's famous words. (Martin is a comedian and I think he was giving Joe a friendly tweak over that old charge of stealing other people's words).

But I totally agree with you. This duo will win the White House. I feel so good about Obama's selection of Biden. And thank you for defending him. He's our Joe now.”

“Good thing I held my tongue, I didn't think Stranahan was watching the blog, but glad he is.
I think that you sound a bit full of yourself sometimes, but other than that, you make a good point. This should blow up or blow over soon.
However, a few things: If the Midwest Oil spill has not hit MSM, why should this news? Private citizen now, public candidate when this occurred I understand. But I think more like the French with respect to affairs of public officials: it has nothing to do with their ability to govern. Here in this country it does, so Edwards had to drop out fast which he did. But he must have known well fairly shortly after the kid was conceived that she was pregnant, no?
This should have zero effect on his ability to be in Obama's cabinet. Absolutely no effect.
Other than that, let's sing that song:

Billie Jean Is Not My Lover
She's Just A Girl Who Claims That I Am The One

But The Kid Is Not My Son

She Says I Am The One, But The Kid Is Not My Son

For Forty Days And Forty Nights
The Law Was On Her Side
But Who Can Stand When She's In Demand
Her Schemes And Plans
'Cause We Danced On The Floor In The Round
So Take My Strong Advice, Just Remember To Always Think Twice

“If true this would be a tragedy.
But those are the breaks, especially when they come from one of the most infamous political philanderer ever Bill Clinton and his party.
Isn't he still in charge of the party, oh, that's right he's not in charge now Obama is.

Edwards is a guy I have little pity for. Supposed he won the nomination, what the hell was he going to do then? The gall of some people. But then we said the the same about Clinton, and everyone rallied around him. Let's see what happens now to Edwards, will people rally to him or will they throw him under the bus?”

roshni replied on Jul 28, 2008 at 23:04:52

“McCain definitely falls in the same catergory too. He left his first wife and 3 kids when she was crippled in a car accident, had an affair with Cindy and now calls her the c word in public,
It's a reason I don;t respect him. If Edwards is involved in this, I don't respect him either and he does not get a free pass if he's running for VP - and shouldn't.
If he's dropping out, my deepest sympathy to his wife.”

“I love Robert Kennedy, and I agree with his efforts to keep Congress and oil companies' feet to the fire when it comes to getting gas prices down.

The problem I have with Kennedy is that he had a chance with an oil executive on Larry King Live to talk about the thousands of acres that are NOT being drilled, even though they could.

He mentioned nothing about that. And I feel that he missed a great opportunity to ask the oil man what he thought about the fact that they are NOT drilling like they should be with the lands they have NOW.

A missed opportunity, I know its tough, but he missed the ball on that show.

Other than that I support what he wrote in the article. Very very important stuff.”

My Position On FISA

Commented Jul 04, 2008 at 16:35:26 in Politics

“Dear Sen Obama,

You are right that FISA is imperfect. And I understand the need to compromise. After all you are now running to be President not only of the lefties, or the righties but of all Americans.

I thank you for the article, it shows that you care about what people are talking about. That alone is reason enough to stick with you. Bush and McCain want to scare us and hit us with soundbites, you on the other hand want to reason with us. This is a marked difference from what Americans are used to for the past 8 years. I am sure that while some are disappointed, they will appreciate the fact that you at least recognize that people are complaining, and you have addressed it. Keep open the lines of communication, I like it. And don't forget the fact that you represent the people, not big business.
Trying to turn course of the mighty ship called America will take time, but we are confident with you at the controls. Keep turning the ship, its huge, so it will take time, but the majority of the crew of the America will stand with you. Keep slowly turning the ship and do not stop. Whatever you do, do not stop.”

Commented Jul 02, 2008 at 13:03:53 in Politics

“Yes Enough, and McCain's flip flops don't bother you? Are you blind?
Politicians are politicians but Obama is a special kind of politician that encourages people to get involved in the process.
I don't agree with him on FISA but see his logic.
I think that he should stay the course and continue his support of FISA and vote against immunity. Then announce investigations that will begin once he is President as to the criminality of those who unduly spied on Americans. That is the best course, and that is something that most on the left will support. The extremists on either side may go ballistic but you can please all of the people all of the time in politics. And I accept that so long as Obama keeps his promises to the American people once President.”

ouroborous replied on Jul 02, 2008 at 15:55:08

“Don't you see that this isn't about McCain?

This is about the mindset -- about winning at all costs. This is about those who would destroy the Constitution to protect America (ignoring the much bigger crowd who'd destroy it just to get votes).

This isn't about winning.

It's about winning *FAIRLY*.

If you can't see this, the argument will likely fall on deaf ears.”

PATina replied on Jul 02, 2008 at 13:54:01

I sincerely thought the American people were ready for a new kind of politics...”
