“One of the most homophobic persons on tv has said that what is happening in Russia is cruel, A new Year is bringing up new hope :) I can't help but smile - the world is changing.”

“Agreed. I disagree with a lot that Glen Beck says but as I said above, is when you can find common ground with someone else on something it feels good. The States of America used to feel good. Lately it feels so divided and contentious. This man reaches out his hand and, not only in this instance, but with his defense of Melissa Harris-Perry as well, who didn't make a joke but just sort of added on to a joke someone else made on her show about a picture of the huge Romney family with like 25 white people in a photo and the 1 black baby on his knee. The three people on her panel were comedians and they were just joking around. One of the panel members commented on how beautiful the baby was. Yet when the right wing (which somehow always accuses the left-wing of blowing political correctness out of proportion), hears a liberal saying something REMOTELY approaching a sensitive subject, THEY POUNCE. They do this because liberals do not spew as much hatred as conservatives and when they get the closest thing to it, they blow it out of proportion because they don't get as many opportunities because liberals rarely are intolerant or racist or sexist compared to conservatives who often live eat and sleep intolerance. Glen Beck doing this means a lot because he is hardcore religious like the rest of the conservatives, so for him to come out with tolerance is nice to hear.”

“He's merely doing it as a means of criticizing the US media other than Fox. He's never displayed logical or ethical consistency or integrity in the past, so I sincerely doubt he will now.”
“Today the Indian Supreme Court has declared that millions of its LGBT citizens as CRIMINALS and stole away our basic human rights and protection from the law. This is inhuman. We won't give up. Help us spread the word. I am angry coz i am not a criminal, but according to the Indian supreme court I am one now !!”

“Integrity demands the courageous to, rather than retreating in fear, to step out further.
As a previous commenter stated, "at least it is being discussed". A very important strip,”
“I don't know this man but I saw his passionate segment when prop 8 was passed in California. It is an amazing piece n I watched only 2 years ago. It reminds me I'm not wrong n I deserve better. This year after prop 8 decision ( which has nothing to do with me) proved that we will succeed.”
“This is the oldest story in the book of a gay kid, wherever he or she is , any part of the world. Even in india growing up thinking u r alone in this whole wide world. Well I never had the courage to go thro with it, but I did think about it. I'm alive today coz i was a coward then n i'm happy for it.
When will this stop? I'm 26 n I wanna see this stop before my time.”
“well I am tat guy waiting to be disowned. But i don't wanna be famous or go on stage like this kid. I don't even want acceptance, i just don't want rejections. I just wanna be a part of a crowd where people don't care about who I love..”
“Jesus always stood for the outlaws and fought for their justice. If he was here today he would be fighting on our side against established arrogance and idiocy.
PS: I admire Steve Simmons. He is amazing”

“Every gay person who encounters prejudice and hate has two options. Move to a bigger city and live in a bubble. Or stay where you are fight. fight for a better world and a better tomorrow. I chose the first one but I am going back soon to fight. Thanks for sharing this story.”

“I say don't fight, "SAM" has a bad habit, stupid thinking, help the kid kick the habit.
save fighting for hockey season (and thanks to "Everyone can play" and the NHL who is also on the right side oh history!)”
“ok enough with the hateful comments here. not everyone has a supporting father or family. atleast they are talking about this now. The pains the son had to go thro to accept himself will someday make his dad repent wat he has done or is doing. sometimes a lifetime goes by without families accepting and loving their children. so yeah keep out of this while they sort it out themselves.”

“THEY went public with the issue. And the father is the man who is writing and passing the anti gay laws in Arizona, and for our Congress. He is also agitating for a Constitutional amendment to make gays second class citizens forever. Sorry, but that makes all this news.”

“Excellent advice for the family.
As for the Congressman he should legislate by the Constitution not the Book of Mormon.

“It would be easier to keep out of it had they not brought it to the public in the first place. Besides for MANY of us, this is playing out in a way we've seen a MILLION times. In the end, the father will not choose accepting his son. There is no evidence in his words to suggest he will.”
“It takes only a coward to do stuff like this. It takes a man of great courage to stand up against this and forgive his opponent. It just takes one person to change the world and u my friend are one of them. we stand behind u and support u.”

“it's not about one gay player or their personal gains. It's about the movement. The whole gay movement to make sure that no other minority goes through what we are going through. it's about creating a safe world for the kids, so that they can grow up and be whomever they choose to be, which includes a professional athlete.”

“very, very true.....and that is just another REASON, why they should CONTINUE to play football after coming out......we all know, it WON'T be easy.....but, nothing worth gaining EVER is.....but, you can NOT GIVE UP.
“hmm honey, grow up !! and news flash : I want a kid and a family and a husband as much as any other straight person and I think ur god has made science to helps us and be happy.”

“Please read my response above. You are totally confused. You suffer from a detrimental mutation. With that said many people suffer from various detrimental mutations. However this does not mean society goes around letting them do whatever makes them happy. We prevent people suffering from various mental disorders from purchasing guns in the interest of society; also you don't see Stevie Wonder driving a car do you? My point stands. We need to acknowledge the intent of nature and adhere to nature's laws for the benefit of humanity. And do not call me honey. I am a grown man. Your comment further exemplifies my point. You, homosexuals, expect normal people to accept your behaviour. Normal men find it very offensive if another man where to call them honey. Just a basic example of how your malady adversely impacts normal society. I could go on with the examples but even if you don't get the point others do.”
“yeah the guy who did nothing for HIV epidemic and let the gays be prosecuted would have flipped for gay marriage ?? Regan was running with Bryan Fischer;s crowd. I don't think he would be so happy about it”
Linde Star on Apr 4, 2013 at 21:06:24
“Were you aware of how many gays back then were horribly promiscuous? THEY did NOTHING to help the epidemic from spreading.....bath houses = very famous for poking as many as they could in one night. BTW, I'm all for gays being able to marry. (I grew up in the SF Bay Area back then), bath houses (ewww) were famous for promiscuity.”
