“As a vegan myself (for both the animals & for health reasons), I've noticed many others only eat "fake meats" while in a transitionary phase to the diet. After that, if they're eating for health &/or health & any other reason combined, they tend to stop it & only eat real whole foods. Some even go completely raw, or they'll switch it up. I'm an example. If not fully raw, burgers & sandwhiches would eventually consist of healthier or sprouted flours & bean patties for example. Like many others, I homemake about 90% of everything I eat from scratch. Fake food like mentioned above exists solely as to have more options when dining out. Which again, I'd say very few vegans do on a daily basis. It depends on why ur eating a vegan diet. Regardless, vegans r likely eating about 16+ servings of fruits & veggies a day, & if they're including fake meat, it's probably more for texture, cus almost all of the fake meats on the market taste nothing like actual meat, even if it's supposed to, w/ the exception of about 4 products out of 1000's. They taste like veggies or tofu. We know most fake meat is just a nasty experience for the tastebuds as well as the mind. That's why so many prefer veggie, mushroom or bean burgers instead of "fake meat soy burgers", although tofu veggie burgers are another story, still, they aren't supposed to & don't taste like meat. Trust me, I”

“Well said. It seems people aren't looking at the ingredients of these sandwiches. If they did, they'd see that only 1 or 2 actually use a commercial meat alternative product, one of which being Field Roast which is made up of vegetables/fruit only; no processed ingredients at all. And I think you're right--vegetarians/vegans tend to eat meat alternative products while transitioning to the veg diet, then start to make their own.”
“Yes nephilim, almost all food is slightly radioactive and will in fact raise your yearly dose of radiation, some foods more than others, like you mentioned, bananas, but also brazil nuts, kidney beans, etc. The problem w/the natural food argument is that they're emitting an entirelyyy different type of radiation, a natural although rare form, that won't hurt the human body since it's able to regulate it as a natural substance already present in the body. Bananas are not emitting plutonium. A substance that can kill you within days if ingested or entered into the bloodstream in a miniscule amount.”

“Sorry, I wasn't being clear. I was saying that there's very little to be concerned about from this particular report since the amount of radiation detected (which was iodide, not plutonium) is insignificant compared to the amount of radiation we're exposed to on a daily basis from every day objects. the web comic XKCD actually had a very accurate breakdown of just how much radiation is necessary to cause damage and it's a heck of a lot. I haven't listened to Coulter on account of the fact that she hurts my brain, but people need to be better educated about the things that freak them out. A lot of people in this country worry endlessly over insignificant things. I live in Boston and most people could care less. Frankly, I'd be more concerned about the toxins in our food over slightly elevated background radiation.
All elevated background radiation ever caused was the zombie apocalypse.”
“USA, please wake up! STOP VOTING REPUG & DEM! Don't u understand that u r throwing away ur vote by "voting 4 the lesser of 2 evils"? Don't u understand how ur being brainwashed & manipulated? How ur a slave to these 2 parties, & they have forever engraved that idea of there being -only 2 parties- into ur skull? Of course they tell u ul be throwing ur vote away by voting 4 who u really want 2 vote 4...they tell u that so u throw ur vote away on THEM! Wake up! Start voting honestly! Even if it means the worst candidate wins, having a record # of indie votes will forever change the tone & thinking of this country! People need to stop fearing the outcome of TRUE FREEDOM, & get w/ the program be4 we don't even have a planet left 2 walk on! It is getting close 2 that point & if things don't change w/ the voting system NOW, then I am afraid they prob never will. It's now or never! Some1 needs 2 start some sort of facebook page already & address this issue, so this nonsense can end once & 4 all. Yes, this messed up voting system can end once & for all, but it's up 2 us 2 do it & take away -their- power. Will some1 please do something? I cannot take the corruption anymore, I'm sure none of u can! Let's do this already! Take back ur freedom”

“The Wall Street Party has two wings, and it's flying.”
“So stop voting for them. You know neither party will solve issues here at home, so will you now finally stop voting for them? I'm with you man, & Obama was my last democratic vote. Now we just need the rest of the people to wisen up, have courage & take away their power. It's up to us. Vote in who you really want next time, & no longer "the lesser of the 2 evils". It's truly our only hope. They want you to believe you will be throwing away your vote by voting honestly, only so you throw your vote away on THEM. It's how they've brainwashed the world. It must end. Now. I hope everybody is fearless enough to do it, regardless of what evil may come from a republican victory. I think it will forever change this country, just by having a record # of independant submissions. I hope there is some sort of facebook/social networking revolution nonsense focusing on this issue. I'd start it but I don't have enough friends hahaha, someone start it!!”
“I can think of 6 other more highly life-threatening/globally concerning things "melting away" right now, so how about we do the world a favor & feature that story again, instead of this truly obnoxious one.”
“MOX fuel was used in at least one reactor at Fukusima. MOX is Mixed Oxide Fuel. A combination of Plutonium, natural and depleted uranium. Some tonnage of the spent fuel rods are MOX fuel. That is TONNAGE.”
“Now that we all know every plant has plutonium, and they lied, go pick up a copy of "Radiation protection: a guide for scientists, regulators, and physicians By Jacob Shapiro" & read the sections on fallout, plutonium, etc. West Coast: I highly suggest you start packing.”

“I don't understand how there can be any law created or changed based on religious opinion anywhere in the United States. If this is Christian belief that -being gay is a sin-, than an anti-gay marriage bill should only affect Christians! Why would/should this law affect anybody else (Non-Christians & obviously other religions or non-religious people & well, the educated, lol, that don't believe same)? Same goes for abortion, same goes for "no alcohol on sundays" or whatever day it is, etc, I don't understand how such laws can even exist for "everybody". They're not based on popular vote they're based on religious opinion.”
LiberalLee on Feb 26, 2011 at 11:19:54
Because there are a lot of people in this country that believe their religion gives them the right to squash all others and impose their creed on us. Ironically, they are the loudest whiners about THEIR rights being infringed upon and the quickest to shout "persecution!" when all they are being denied id the right to inflict their baseless fears and phobias on everyone else.
Do we care if they find same sex relationships repugnant? Not particularly. Does their repugnance give them the right to penalize others? Never.
We'll let them live out their lives on their knees, praying to any absurdity and living by any random set of quirks they want.
But they DON'T get to shove it down anyone else's throats. Our rights are just as strong as theirs.”
“I saw something just like this in West Virginia atop Spruce Knob Mountain. Did exactly the same thing, too. Almost 100%
At first I thought it was a satellite, but it got bigger, moved really slowly for a while almost drifting, and after shining a flashlight on it to show my bf, who also saw it, it took off 2731273023702132103312 mph into blackness.”
