“The status quo is the uninsured go to the Emergency Room where the hospitals CANNOT deny care to get there care. So what happens the Insurance companies up the premiums and out of pocket expenses of the insured causes the insured to go bankrupt all in keeping the Insurance companies stock options up and big profits. It's no wonder we have not had ANY health care reform in 28 years.”

VSamuels replied on Aug 11, 2009 at 11:55:44

“The more relevant issue is why it takes so long for the bare and crucial facts in these debates to rise to the surface in the MSM? The GOP gets to come on air and avoid all of the main issues that demand attention while turning those who want reform into socialists out to destroy America. We can thus, simply believe that the folks behind the scenes are unaware of this deception or we can believe that they are constrained by complex relationships from these same insurers, who themselves do not want real debate to play out.

If then we watch how this Healthcare debate started and then has played out with all of the crazies and right wing moderators, we are looking at patterns of behavior and not random events just happening without reason. In name only, we have a republic with a democratic model of government, but in reality America operates based on the whims and wishes of the rich.

The nutcases today, just like during the planter society engorged with hate enable the rich and point to the government or what they see as it helping non-whites as the problem, rather than rich white men who are and have always been running the show.”

“The thing is if we had universal health care the drug companies and health care companies would make money if everyone was insured. The status quo is send the uninsured to the emergency room and then hike the premiums and out pocket cost on everyone that has insurance, and that in unacceptable for me.”

“Thank you Shannyn. Keith O and Rachel both talked about this very same thing. It's pretty sad that we can't have a serious talk about health care. I have never known anyone to learn anything from a bunch of screaming and never listening. But then of course when your mouth is running your ears are closed. I would just once would like to hear a honest discussion on health care WITHOUT all the scare tactics to hear the pro's and con's.”

“I think you will get your chance. President Obama said that he would go line by line through any bill that comes before him. I hope this is on TV, so that the public here what is in the bill before he would sign it and if he understands it and what it will do.”
