The Osama Fallout: Be Careful What You Wish For

Commented May 3, 2011 at 13:15:28 in Politics

“Nice try, but Obama and the democrats ruled ALL 3 branches of govt for two years and couldn't produce anything...so don't blame this on house republicans, what was he doing for the past two years?”

Lizzy28 on May 3, 2011 at 14:00:36

“"There you go again."

You're welcome to your own opinion. But facts, that's something else. Republicans in the Senate finally relented in the few weeks post 2010 election, and a few beneficial things finally got done. Before that they dragged out the filibuster threat at the drop of a hat. Obama would propose, The House would pass, and Senate Republicans would kill.

Please stop trying to rewrite history! I think that you'll enjoy the new found sense of self respect.”

....now if you were to say George Bush had a "c" average and no one had anything to say about that I would then say you make a good point.
It also brings up another interesting question, if GW made a "c" average and was president what is Pres Obama scared of happening if he releases his grades, and how come he isn't releasing his grades if those of past President's were released?”

“Just saying shouldn't huffpost include everything important to a story rather than selectively choose what they want to write (isn't this what they accuse FOX for doing)?

Here is how Obama voted in 2006 when raising the debt ceiling came up: In 2006 then Senator Obama voted AGAINST raising the debt ceiling, and added this statement:
“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can't pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

Wouldn't one think that would be very important now that Obama is President and he is doing the very thing he voted against?”

Over 4 Million Move Their Accounts From Wall Street Banks in 2010

Commented Mar 26, 2011 at 16:16:50 in Business

“I think you should also start a move your mortgage away from the govt and fannie mae and freddie mac who are the main cause of the economic meltdown. But if you must go on and on about moving from a "large bank" to a regional/community bank or credit union I must say you are simply not telling the truth about banks. since I have worked for large banks, creidt unions and a regional bank I can tell you they are all the same! they all charge $25-35 for overdraft fees, not to mention how much harder it is to get an account in the first place at a smaller institiution because of the overhead talked about in the article.....a lot of places have a policy of at least a 550-600 credit score and cant have any outstanding listings on check systems (essentially your credit report for how you bank). where at larger institiutions there requirements are a lot less strict by accepting a credit score as low as 409 and won't turn you away for having something listed on your check systems. All large banks were at one time a community or regional bank but were successful and grew--just like current regional and community banks are trying to do. Even credit unions are now holding there employees to sales goals, becoming just like "large banks."
nice try, but you should write an article with an accurate an fair anaylsis of banks.”

Even if you pay your mortgage - they can still foreclose - - so it is pretty clear - - big money buys justice - - can you afford justice when your time comes?

Next, my post had NOTHING to do with commenting on the fake interview. That said, I didn't cry about this nor when say O'Keefe played his pimp game with ACORN. Neither is the issue... the point is what the Gov said to whom he thought to be Koch.

My post on corp taxes regarded an end of biz taxes, not a 'let's raise taxes on business.' Again, try reading stop creating nonexisting text for my post.

Taxes are passed on to consumers on goods/services provided, however, only to the customers of said goods (example say Ferrari pay taxes in WI for cars sold) without it, revenue shifts from Ferrari buyers only and onto all citizens in WI....get it? The revenue loss still must be compensated so it shifts from consumers of that product only and onto all individuals. With this the citizen status companies pay nothing, yet real citizens pay everything. This is the Libertarian dream of folks like Koch. Anyone below the top 1% earners in the nation should be railing against such nonsense.”

“Not so. Do you know how many people crossed over from Canada during the mid 1800's that didn't go through things legally? I think you might be surprised. Silly me, they were mostly from Scotland and England, so they were white. Do you know how many German's, Swede's and Finn's never learned English in MN and Iowa who were still alive in the later half of the 20th century? Oh, wait, they were white too.

And yet, a foreign language is a requirement for most high school graduates, and admission to colleges.

Yes, legal immigration is how people should be doing it. No argument there. But not everyones ancestors came here legally, and even if they did, they may have not learned English.

We need immigration reform badly. We need to have them as guest workers, tax them. For some reason, this eludes our elected.”

Although many pro-corporate rule {aka f@sc!st tr0//z here} believe that just because the Federal Reserve had the word "Federal" in it, it's the government. Um. No. The Federal Reserve is a privately owned bank, owned by our big banks.

The government bank is the Treasury, and they lend to the Federal Reserve at ridiculously low interest rates {I believe last time it was 0.5%} and then the Federal Reserve "lends" to the big banks like WellsFargo, BofA, etc at some ridiculous low interest rate of about 2% or so. Just think about this tro//ies ... how much is the interest rate on your cc's? How much interest do you pay on your mortgage?
