“Why are people so surprised that African Americans have white ancestors? It's almost a guarantee for any Black family established in America after the end of the slave trade in the early 1800's.”

HoosierRadical replied on Nov 09, 2009 at 17:11:54

“Correction: The legal importation of Africans was prohibited in 1806 or something like that. NOT the Enslavement trade. However, there was still Africans being brought in it was just "illegal" to do so. The prohibition on importing Africans only hasten and increased the domestic enslavement trade. Surely you know the enslavement trade did not end until 1865. Than in its aftermath another form of enslavement sprung up Jim Crow, sharecropping, etc.

One should be careful in posting inaccurate comments, especially when one's picture is shown.”

RNC Facebook Photo Taken Down: Racist Anti-Obama Picture

“I've seen this story posted on a couple of blogs, and it's interesting to see the reactions of people. It seems that many of them were more offended by the picture than bu the message, that message being that Obama is the result of the "abominable" act of interracial marriage. It's like the picture acts as an excuse to not discuss the deeper issues of the history of race in America, and how we're still affected by it today.”

trevjr replied on Oct 26, 2009 at 22:06:13

“And don't forget we just had a judge refuse to marry a black and white because he was afraid for the 'children'. Yes sir, racism is alive and well in the US.”

gparks replied on Oct 26, 2009 at 18:47:23

“JJTinking ... at last ... someone who "SEES" the true meaning in the post! The RNC and its deciples believe that people with African blood are inferior and not human thus not worthy of "mixing" with other (white) humans. This is the foundation of their belief system (white supremacy) and the cause of ALL their reactions to President Obama and ALL African-Ameicans. These "deeper" issues are American as apple pie and need to be exposed, examined and eradicated from the psyche of all that have this disease. And it is a dis-ease that requires treatment. Thank God that education and exposure to ALL humans can remove this illness from those who want to be "cured"!”

SagOne replied on Oct 26, 2009 at 18:29:16

“Exactly JJThinking. Stupid people, the easy to influence, gullible see the image of a
Black President of the United States of America eating fried chicken. Actually it is a caricature of white mental thinking. It's a backward way of telling the world we really love black people and hate ourselves in our own skin, we are jealous of you and this
is the only sane way for us to express it. Forgive us. Loving v. Virginia? They can't get past the image of themselves black eating chicken to comprehend the significance of miscegnation. It was white people breeding slaves by raping African Women. These women did not want sex with white men and certainly a slaver. To stop themselves from raping Black women they came up with miscegenation laws. The Supreme Court in Loving overturned this law, because A person has the right to marry whomever. There are now anti rape laws that apply although applied unfairly. A white man can still get away with raping a black woman while a black man can not get away with raping a white women. An interracial couple in Lousiana was recently denied a marriage licence because the JP was concerned for the chiildren to be born. Get out of here already. Totally dumb.”

Commented Oct 12, 2009 at 12:00:30 in Entertainment

“It's a pleasant song, but it feels unfinished; more of a demo than a complete Michael Jackson product. That being said, the vocals and composition are very retro. This is like something that could have been released on the Jacksons' 1978 album " Destiny" (I'm thinking specifically of the song "Bless His Soul".)

As for the film, I'm still uncomfortable with the way the entire project has been pushed onto the still mourning public. It'll probably be a hit because 1)It's only in theaters for 2 weeks (ahead of the "special edition" DVD release,) 2)Fans will want to witness MJ in action one more time and 3)The general public has a fascination with dead celebs.

I am a huge fan of MJ, I have love and respect for him as an artist and a human being, but I won't be contributing $$$ to the producers of "This Is It."”
