“No Ark was ever found on Ararat. Yeah Its a story from Gilgamesh or whatever”

“I know but I am just going by what nearly all the Christians say and what is written in the bible which according to Christians is gods word.
Personally I don't accept all that stuff, being a humanist myself.”
“A hill is no Mountain! The text itself disagrees with your supposition. Anybody telling a story about a great flood that covered the highest mountains on earth would clearly have used language that described the event realistically. They did, and 22 feet higher means that the flood wasn't all that deep.”

“The story of Noah is just a story, probably stolen from other cultures. I stand behind what the bible claims happened which is, the entire earth was covered. How would you explain the Ark coming to rest so high up mount Ararat if the waters were only 15 cubits higher than the highest hill?”
“When you read the Bible you have to factor in that when it says things like the entire world was flooded, they are talking about the "KNOWN" world. so basically it was a localized flood that wiped out an area the size of Texas or whatever.”

“After having seen the recent movie, I went back and read Genesis. It specifically says the entire earth was covered.
7:19 And the water prevailed more and more upon the land, so that all the high hills everywhere under the sky were covered.
7:20 The water prevailed fifteen cubits higher, and the hills were covered.
7:21 And all flesh that moved on the land perished, birds and cattle and beasts and every swarming thing that swarms upon the land, and all mankind;
7:22 of all that was on the dry land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died.
7:23 Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the land; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark.
7:24 And the water prevailed upon the land one hundred and fifty days.”
“Yeah I agree, the crew knew something was up and they knew they had to get off or go down with the ship. If they had enough lifeboats they wouldn't have been in panic mode and bailed out before the passengers were safe but clearly they knew the ship was going down fast and they had to get off or go down with the ship. Its sad that they told them to go inside effectively killing them because they wouldn't even have the chance to swim for it. murder”
“Its shameful that the crew survived and these kids didn't. I can imagine them knowing there wouldn't be time or lifeboats to get everyone off so they made the decision to tell these people to go inside a sinking ship while they saved themselves. Thats negligent homicide in IMO”
“And who chose the shoddy workman? or why was his work so shoddy?? If your going to have believe its Gods will that makes the world the way it is you have to believe God had a hand in this. You really can't pick and choose when where and how God works can you?”
“Are you kidding me? For a religion that puts faith in an omnipotent sky god that knows all our sins and performs miracles like creation, how could this not be a sign from the ALMIGHTY? You must not have a lot of faith.”
“I find it interesting that this story has been buried by most media outlets including this one. Clearly if this story goes viral the chatter won't look good for the Catholics. I mean could we have a more clear sign from God that it's not happy with this canonization!”

“It's an interesting example of shoddy workmanship... Nothing more.”
