“The people who are replying are trying to say the marketing is not deceptive because they achieved those results. The article isn't about airbrushing or photoshop - he is also talking about (what he considers) extraordinary claims - and people are getting pissed because those claims are not that extraordinary if you follow some of these programs.”

“you can't fake a 6 pack with 20% body fat no matter what lighting you use. it's not remotely possible until under 10%bf. he probably used photoshop - though it looks extremely real. i am curious why he is leaving that out of the story.”

“The only photoshop was brightness and contrast...maybe saturation.
No added dark lines or any crap like that...although you could to enhance the look if you needed to.
I definitely don't look that ripped without the lights overhead, and I don't look as bloated as the before shot. I am somewhere in between and my about bodyfat is 17-19%. I only use scales to measure, but I've been sub 10% and I can tell you, I'm a little vascular on my low abs and my arms look much more defined. My legs carry more fat so the percentage is not a representation of how much fat I have on my abs.
Question everything, including the rule of 10-12% of visible abs.”

“The author DOES have a 6 pack. That's not fake ('though it is accentuated). It's his before picture that's "fake" in that he's unnaturally pushing out his gut. No photoshopping, just pose and lighting. Most people can "lose" a lot of pounds by sucking in their gut (at least until they pass out :) ).”

“rdsls2 spelled it out for you, and you still are having trouble grasping something that a lot of people have known for ages. Just because YOU cannot attain a six pack at a certain body fat percentage, doesnt mean he cannot. You do realize that all of us are different, right? I can eat whatever i want to, whenever i want to, and dont seem to gain any weight. I'm know of plenty of people who can't do that. Depends on the person. Open your eyes.”
