“Mr. Rucker, I'm sure this question has been asked already - but I must ask this - is there some way that we can continue this fight against the likes of Rush Limbaugh?

I really want to rally around an effort to make this happen. We really have to stop ALL of this hate that is being fed across the airwaves!

I've had enough!”

“I do hope that this fight has a victory. I have a family member who wants to invest time in this industry and if this is how it operates - I fear she will become a victim of it's "loopholes". Keep up the fight Dionne!!!”

“I loved this...

"The teleprompter isn't some space-age interdimensional portal that automatically injects your audience with nitrous oxide and mild doses of heroin, drugging them into an involuntary state of euphoric torpor."

If anyone can so readily craft prose with such ferocity, with such a bite, and still do it with intelligent taste - then you are the master!!! I LOVE IT!!!

Keep up the fervor.”

“I agree. I think that this could evolve into something worse than anything we could possibly expect. Fifty-seven million of them did not vote for Obama, and I fear that they can turn this into more than just rhetoric, and off-logic rants. These blind, idiosyncratic tendencies often become actions, because nothing else is left to lament. I just hope that some level of sanity, whatever level is left, prevails before all else.”

“It is worth noting that the conservative right has but one flaw. That flaw is the the religious element. Remove the religious right from your base of ideals, and return to the conservative views of Barry Goldwater and you will see a resurgence.

It is the only way to restore your roots. Conservatives can then return to managing money conservatively, and having a government that has a smaller hands-on approach after, and only after Obama gives us universal health care, ends the war in Iraq, balances the taxation, fixes Medicare and Social Security, and rebuilds America.

Once all of that is done - then we will invite the conservative base back in for another chance at playing quarterback for our nation.”

“Thank you Mr. Feldman - this is the perfect assessment of the Drudge Report and how this unfortunate event was spun into a crime based on political support. To cut to the chase - if any readers need more information to balance out an argument that might come their way – especially if the argument claims that “If this were an Obama supporter being mugged…?” - well - here is more information from the ABC affiliate, WISN – in Caledonia, Wisconsin – a 58-year old Obama campaign supporter, going door-to-door, was grabbed and pounded in the head by someone who believed that she represented ACORN. This was reported on October 18th. The source of this news is: http://www.wisn.com/politics/17754232/detail.html

“Thank you, so much CC!

Thank you!

This is the fundamental argument that made me change my direction as a conservative. I have found a new home here at Huffington Post - and as I go through this transition, I find it so much easier to do, especially as I read postings like yours.

General Powell said almost everything I felt about Obama, and simply reinforced my decision to support a truly transformational candidate.

Your are presenting more proof that America is growing beyond the tactics of old, and slowly embracing the new.

Thank you again CC!”

“I agree with you - but everyone - keep in mind - it is illegal to bring a video camera into a polling place. You can bring your cell phone, with it's built in camera. This is okay.

Just a word of legal safety for those who want to catch these inequities.”

The Charged, Hateful Language Of Election 2008

Commented Sep 17, 2008 at 19:14:55 in Home

“I wrestled with the thought that Obama would lose. Due in part to all the wrong things that may (and have) been thrown in his path. And here I sit, in an office building, doing a "white collar" job that would never have been an opportunity for me over 30 years ago. How thankful I am for the Jackie Robinsons, the Rosa Parks, the many, the dedicated, the determined - who made my life a possibility, even if this life is still a little bruised by racially motivated jabs and punches.

One thing that amazes me is the fact that the media identifies whites who oppose Obama as "blue-collar workers", as if the high volume of minorities who currently dominate these jobs are actually management, or even better, company owners. Go figure.

I guess through it all, you gave one point that made me smile.

The point that even if Obama loses, you are so correct, that the door is now open and it can never be closed. In addition, on August 27th 2008, I will always remember, that in my life time, someone who looks like me became the first ever to win (- to earn) the nomination for president. That open door, that moment of history, is all the encouragement I need to hold my head a little higher. Thank you so much for your article.

J.A.”
