Atheists 'Slaves Obey Your Masters' Billboard Raises Tempers In Pennsylvania

Commented Mar 13, 2012 at 15:33:54 in Religion

“It was taken out of context I believe. The King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) states:
"Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:"
Servants meaning everyone, everyone is a servant to God. This chould actually read "Servants (of God), obey in all things(,) your (M)aster(God) according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart(with God), fearing God".”

leftcoastindy on Mar 13, 2012 at 15:58:28

“Complete FAIL

So you think you can just interpret it anyway you want? What about next week? The same? Or will you change it again?”

Tom Rowland on Mar 13, 2012 at 15:49:29

“so I guess you think that the part of the bible that talks about not using your own countrymen as slaves, that's actually some sort of "worship God" analogy? I don't think so. There are quite a few examples where Jesus, and the Old T., talked about slavery, how slaves should behave, and they WEREN'T making analogies for everyone as slaves to God. If that was the case, why put in the part about "not as manpleasers (free prostitutes or sex toys)"--was God telling people "if I ever get loaded and ask you to be my "man-pleaser", you can say no"?”

Stanley Seay on Mar 13, 2012 at 15:47:17

“The whole point of the billboard is to point out that the bible is clearly in favor of slavery. Regardless, it could have been done with more tact that what was done here.”

13champlain on Mar 13, 2012 at 15:44:30

“The old test. openly advocates for it. In several areas, you can google it. Better, read "God is not Great". In fact the bible has regulations for it. It also advocates treating women like cattle, but I digress”

“Yeah wrong quote. They should have used Leviticus instead. Much more pronounced and to the point.”

Falconer6439 on Mar 13, 2012 at 15:37:28

“No, your interpretation and rewriting (throwing in "God" everywhere) would be beyond taking the qoute out of context. That is not the only mention of obeying masters (or classes "above" you for that matter).”

“Thanks, however, Jesus is the idol of many! Many worship him, when God Says "worship none, other than ME". Just a thought.
Have a nice day,
Jim”

British Government Says Christians Don't Have Right To Wear Cross Or Crucifix At Work

Commented Mar 13, 2012 at 13:02:34 in Religion

“Jesus was not God. God did not come to earth in flesh. The Holy Trinity One-God, the son Of God, and The Holy Spirit. The first Jesus lost his place at The Right-Hand Of God because he denied God's True Idenity as female, and he denied his marriage to God. That is why the world receives the second Jesus, not as God in flesh, but as the Son OF GOD. God And Her Holy Spirit Is your Helper.

British Government Says Christians Don't Have Right To Wear Cross Or Crucifix At Work

Commented Mar 13, 2012 at 12:55:09 in Religion

“Actually, it is, Commandment Two.”

SUES4U on Mar 13, 2012 at 13:36:19

“I stand corrected but the operative word in that commandment is "idol"--Jesus was not an idol, He was the Son of God-an Equal to and Part of the Trinity. But I am a Christian not a Mormon....”

British Government Says Christians Don't Have Right To Wear Cross Or Crucifix At Work

Commented Mar 13, 2012 at 12:34:56 in Religion

“I believe it should be allowed. It is a personal freedom to express spiritual or religious beliefs in America. I would personally choose not to wear one because Jesus was not God, but he was "The Son of GOD". Does God not say in Her 10 Commandments “You must not make or keep any past participle of The Grave, deeply impressed, firmly fixed, carved, or sculptured idol image.” ? Also, since Jesus denied our Creator's True Identity, I choose not to place him above, or at equals with God. It is time to stop worshipping Jesus, and worship our One & Only, God!

vabredbabe on Mar 13, 2012 at 12:43:47

“Jesus IS God. God came to earth IN THE FLESH as Jesus. The Holy Trinity is 3 persons in one-God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit, left here when Jesus was taken up to heaven, to be our Helper here on earth.”

Parshat Vayakhel-Pekudei: Weekly Torah Portion Summary, Questions, Resources

Commented Mar 13, 2012 at 15:53:36 in Religion

“Josh,
I enjoyed reading your article. In reading your piece, I can't help but wonder, if the beams were to heavy to lift, then why did God Command Moses to make them? Well, I think maybe God was testing Moses's faithfulness to Her? Also, there was such a great accounting of the donations because the items did not belong to him, they belong to God, and so he was responsible to account for each and every piece?
