“I almost dozed off during the first endless remarks made by Sarah Palin. . .all the while trying to get to her point. When she finally came to it, I thought to myself, "Well, this ends her political career.
If she didn't have enough experience before, certainly leaving office in the middle of a first term as governor cooks her goose!”

“Why is nobody condemming the TV stations and pundits who repeatedly invite Rove, Linbaugh, Coultier and others to share their thoughts on their shows.

Guess it is simply ratings, but as for me, once I know one of these idiots is on a show, I change the channel.

Only PBS and C-Span for me, thank you!”

“Frankly, I'm tired of all lthe pundits who are holding their jobs closely to their chests.

I say, let's give president-elect Obama a chance. Let him pull together his cabinet and let him announce his plans.

It is SO frustrating to listen to all the "has-beens" and "want-to-be's" criticize his every move.

As for me, I watch and listen to Obama and I wait. . .with earplugs covering all the useless rambles of CNN, MSNBC and FOX.

And I pray for president-elect Obama and our country.”

“I agree with all the "Hate Mongers" being the losers, but suspect they don't mind at all, and they are cheering Obama's win, for now they have four (hopefully eight) years to spew their stupid attacks.

On the other hand, I'm hoping that some of the winners (MSNBC, especially) will be careful as they assess Obama's presidency. If they become like FOX and simply attack contrary views with no substance. . .they will lose all their credibility and will build up the base for the GOP who will view them as we Democrats view FOX (as a bunch of comedians).

The same goes for all the pundits. I'm tired of all the "right" and "left" views. Let us hear unbiased views. Is this possible for anyone but David Gergen??”

“I am encouraged that Obama is leading in the polls, but I am sickened by the McCain/Palin campaign which is threatening to become "even" nastier.

Should McCain be successful in his quest for the presidency, our nation will become divided and the millions of young new voter's will be turned off by the negativity of the Republican campaign and become cynical about government.

A McCain win will be a disaster for America's future.”

“Arianna has a point. I just returned after spending seven hours working at my Obama headquarters. We were swamped with phone calls and visits from voters who are extremely concerned about the McCain's desperate campaign which seems to be bringing in supporters.

While these individuals respect Obama's determination to keep his campaign clean and only about the issues, they also want Obama to become more forceful in combating all the lies and half-truths about his candidacy.

Overwhelmingly. . .and admittedly these are Obama supporters. . .they are scared to death that McCain/Palin could win. And for good cause should Obama not get tough enough.

I know this is a fine line for Obama and Biden. I pray they keep to the issues and don't react to all the stupid assertations from McCain. But I also hope and pray that they will forcefully show their indignation at the attacks being sent their way.

Guys, this McCain candidate is the one who said something like, "Well, my friends, I will insist on an honorable campaign about issues." My response is, "Well, my friend McCain, you are disrespecting our electoral process by your ongoing personal attacks on Obama. Further, you have lost my respect."”

RNC Video Diary: African-American Republicans Weigh in on Obama

Commented Sep 03, 2008 at 16:28:23 in Politics

“I respect the opinions that they shared. Moreover, I was impressed by the tone of their remarks.

That said, I do not and cannot agree with their views. I only wish that others in the Republican campaign could speak so intelligently and eloquently about the issues they support without following the disgusting remarks of Carl Rove and others who use every opportunity to belittle Obama.

As for Sarah Palin, I believe she is totally unprepared for the position she is seeking. . . and I am sad that her daughter and family are being exploited by this ambitious woman who, I guess, truly believes she can aspire to being the second in command of our great nation.

This whole campaign has become a poorly written soap opera, and the sad reality is that many Americans are loving every moment of it. God help the USA.”

Cindy McCain on ABC Today: Palin Has National Security Experience Because Alaska Is Close To Russia

Commented Aug 31, 2008 at 19:01:03 in Politics

“I watched Cindy McCain the online ABC show.

I was appalled by her lack of judgement and her inability to articulate the reasons of her husband's choice.

How in the world can this woman agree that Sarah Palin is the person to assume the office of leader of the free world? I've tried to understand McCain's choice. . .though I'm not one of his supporters. . .but what I conclude is that he is desperate and relying on voters who depend only on FOX news and others who degrade our democracy.

Folks, let us pray for our country.”

Michelle Obama is a gracious, intelligent and strong woman who will grace our White House as First Lady. I find it disheartening when Senator McCain says over and over. . .and over. . .that his campaign will be clean and honest, and he will never stoop to personal attacks. Yet. . .he tries hard to hide his smile when his staff and some of the media do this.

“Well stated.

Everyone. . .including all the TV pundits. . .reported at the beginning of the campaign that Hillary would be the Democratic candidate and Obama was the underdog.

That Obama is the victor is due to the vision he has clearly articulated about the need for a "change" in Washington and the outstanding campaign that he launched against a disappointedly ineffective campaign by Hillary.

Certainly Hillary was unfairly attacked by some idiots who were against her simply because she is a woman. Moreover, Obama was cruelly attacked by stupid individuals who can't stand the thought of an African American as our president.

I simply cannot put Hillary on a pedestal. While I'll give her credit for winning some primaries, she lost my respect in the process. I viewed her and her staff as being very vindictive towards Obama who, in return, acted as a gentleman.

I'd love to see a woman president one day, but not this year . . .and not this woman.”

There are some things to admire about Senator Clinton, but they have been obliterated by her stubborn resolve to win at any cost. I find it very sad that this smart woman will be remembered for years to come as a "spoiler," and her husband's legacy will be tarnished forever.”

I question Senator Clinton's future as a senator. She has lost my respect because of her campaign rhetoric. I found her to be patronizing and mean spirited as she desperately tried to undermine Senator Obama's candidacy.

I cannot agree with all of Arianna's comments. Perhaps she was simply trying to soothe Senator Clinton in her defeat.
