“I lived in Ames Iowa long time ago. Knew many great people there. Lived next to that beautiful campus with my husband who taught there. I have some great stories about living there. This great lady is an example of what I remember!!”

“I can remember when the Irish and the Italians Germans and other groups had large families. That was when it was against the law in some States to give information on birth control. Women died in childbirth back then, leaving a family of five, who were then put in an Orphanage. Do we want that sort of thing to return??? I can remember when this happened in my town and we knew the family! The saddest sight! To the people who yell about abortion, birth control: Do you want this to return in our world??? Read history! It's all there.”
“I agree with Lewis Black.Romney sounded as though he lived in his own little world, of rich, people with no worries like everyone else. His only worry was "he wanted to President in the worst way" He wanted it so badly he would say and do anything for it.”

“Maybe you should listen to the candidates instead of comedy shows.”

“Right, The best "Our Gang" comedies were from the early-middle 1930's
They were the best!!! They all grew up long time ago. They were delightful
to see, over and over again at neighborhood movie houses -
They don't make them like that anymore! (Wonderful old old memories)”
“I read -many years ago that during the inquisitions, many Jews left and went to Southern Italy.
I am not surprised to hear Colombo would be Jewish..Papa was correct, we, as individuals go
back many many centuries and we will be very surprises of our pasts! We should all care about each other, we may all be "family"”

“That's why you should do your geneaology. You never know who your ancestors were until you do. My wife is a direct descendent of Daniel Boone's sister.”
“believe George Burns should be put on "Mt. Rushmore" then Jack Benny, and all the good comedians
that made us "laugh" (funny laugh)We need a few laughs today, where there seems to be so much
"negative" out there...”
“As a child, I can remember Mothers breast feeding their babies. I also remember when riding street cars in my home town of Omaha, it was common to see mothers breast feeding their young.
Today, I actually had young mothers apologizing for breast feeding in public. My answer to that was always, "The baby's hungry, go ahead and feed your child, and don't be embarrassed. It's normal.
Only the "jerks" seem to think it "unnatural" Remember, that's what God or Mother nature or "whomever, gave Mamas breasts. (to feed our babies)”

Feeding your baby and breast feeding your toddler are not really on the same level. Infant care and feeding is far more specific and critical. When you can hand the kid a bag of carrots, where he can then open them find the ranch to dip it in grab a napkin and pull the chair out at the table in the mall, keep the boobies in the holster. Not so much for my sake as a passerby in the mall but for the kids sake.”

“Aren't we lucky the dogs chose to be with us humans. It was good for them and it was great for us.
Dogs don't need to talk like humans do. They are great with their body language. They are very easy to understand- Yes, we are indeed lucky to have them as really true friends!”
“I look forward to reading Sheryl Sandberg's book. I have to make
one note about the minimum wage today. I remember in the 1940's
I worked for a large "Aerospace" company. At that time, women made
seventy one cents 71 cents an hour and the men made ninety one (91 Cents
an hour for the very same job. (I swear to God, the women did the better job
than the men. They worked very hard. Happy Ms Sandberg wrote the book
We need to realize women have not reached a better point -”
“Dear Phyllis: So sorry to see you go. You've given all of us many laughs throughout the years. Thanks so much for that. Give my love to George Burns, Jack Benny, Jimmy Durante and all the other great comics that made us laugh for so many years. We all miss you very much. Thanks for all the great laughs.”
“You ar so correct. Eisenhower was a good General. However, I never "forgave" him for "tearing up" our beautiful country with highways -ruined cities along the way. It use to be a pleasure to travel by car, Now we are on a long, fast fast highway all over this land. We use to stop along the way, not today! We miss all the old signs, along the highways. Well, I suppose that's "Progress" But it would be nice if it was indeed possible for all of us to just "slow down" just a little bit. Who knows the answer?? I really don't know. I guess it is true, "We can't go home again"

“Jeanette, each summer my wife and I make it a point to drive the parts of Route 66 that are still open in northren Arizona. You would be suprised how many people do the same thing. Driving the "Mother road" is still cool!”

“WminPhoenix and Jeanette, you are both correct as far as you go, but you both FAIL!
During WWII Germany and Japan had an agreement to occupy Mexico (Germany) and Canada (Japan) and divide the US.
Ike wanted a strong highway system (autobahn) for use should the US ever be invaded. One of his prime directives in the construction of the highway system was that 1 mile of every 5 had to be straight and level so it could be used as an airstrip should the need arise.
Our country has been fortunate in that we've never had to use them as part of military activity, altho they have often been used as airstrips for aircraft, both military and civil, who have found themselves in need of a place to land...right now!
The biggest change in our highway system is more recent. Where we once could drive and see tens of thousands of acres of food growing or mooing, we now are blessed with seeing tens of thousands of acres of windmill and solar farms.”

“Like it or not, the interstate highway system is one of the things that has America great. We would not be the country we are today without it, but it would have been nice to keep Hwy. 66, also.”
“People who "assume" usually pretend they know everything.
There are good people and bad people in every race and/or religion.
In my vast experiences, I truly believe that the great majority of people
no matter what race or religion or origin, are mostly GOOD PEOPLE.
Just trying to make a living, taking care of their families-doing the
best. (Thank God for that) (I have know many!!)”

“Pehaps in their own minds, but not according to the God of the Bible who is the ONLY true God. God convicts everyone saying, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." Romans 3:10-12.”
