Please, Willard and his magic underpants have been running for President in 2012 from the day he withdrew from the '08 race at that year's annual reunion of the Jabba the Hut scene from one of those Star Wars movies (also known as the C-PAC convention).

It's somewhat tragic with a streak of dark comedy that Willard's father was a really principled and able individual, a moderate Republican in a time before such species became virtually extinct, agreed with labor on some issues and management on others but never really villified either group, marched with Martin Luther King, opposed the Vietnam War though later than some earlier than most in his party, and apparently decided he would rather live with his convictions than sacrifice them to be president.

The apple sure fell far from that tree.”

“Goodness, it appears that Mr. Limbaugh has a serious challenge to his position as de facto leader of the Republican Party and "he who must be obeyed" (h/t to Governor Kaine) by all Republican elected officials. Ms. Jackson's commentary, in both delivery and substance, demonstrated a deft political skill for appealing to that faction which controls the machinery of today's GOP.

Her use of actual words, her waving the Bible, and her luxuriously thick hair position her as a natural heir to President George W. Bush.

Indeed, one is compelled to speculate how different history might have been had Jackson began receiving air time at this date last year. Certainly, her seemingly innate ability to appeal to the rightwing "base" would not have escaped the notice of that self-appointed group whose self-defined task was to foist an ideologically appealing and exciting Vice Presidential nominee upon the hapless John McCain. She might even have brought her own clothes.”
