“I don't believe you have seen any of Moore's movies. Your comments clearly indicate that. None of your links are to reputable sources and the articles are opinions based on ideological grounds, not fact. The links that do try to debunk are more fill of hyperbole than information and rely on fringe "reports." You need to discern fact from fiction. There exist all kinds of "reports" on any number of subjects which are corporate funded which can show that anything from cigarettes to trans fat are good for you.
Moore's movies are not partisan, rather they accurately and pointedly show a problem and in the case of Bowling for Columbine doesn't even draw a conclusion or call for a particular action.
Try watching a movie and using your brain rather than buying the talk show lines and then trying to find partisan op-eds and blogs to back up what you are told to think.”

“So instead of actually watching one of his movies you are buying in to the right-wing fringe's line about his movies.
You sound clearly ignorant by making a blanket statement like that without having seen any of his movies.
The fact is that no one has been able to disprove a single fact in his movies and he has offered rewards to anyone who would and many have tried.
Moore's movies are nonpartisan, do not slam a particular person or ideology, rather he points out the painful truth in a way that cannot be denied while still managing to entertain. He does more in-depth investigation than most "news" organizations. He also has free screenings all over the country for people who have fallen on hard times. He donates a ton of money from his movies to help people in need and his last movie was downloadable online at no cost whatsoever. Not bad who has to make sure that his movies make money for the companies who finance and distribute his films.
Stop rocking back and forth in a corner while listening to talk radio. Go and see one of the movies and determine its value for yourself.”

“Usual liberal prejudice of anything that disagrees with their "open-minded" thought process. Actually, I've seen all his shockumentaries, and they are rife with misrepresentations, half-truths, and out and out lies. Actually, there are a multitude of websites who go through Moore's films scene by scene and debunk every point he tries to make. Talk about buying fringe lines about movies and being clearly ignorant. Take a look in the mirror. Since you obviously can't pry yourself away from left wing blog sites to get your thinking points, I'll give you some easy clicking to find out the "truth" about Moore's movies.

The mainstream finds his views paranoid, silly and deranged.”

Obama's Windfall Taxes Shift: First Broken Promise?
Commented Dec 03, 2008 at 20:16:35 in Home
“I am glad we are watching so that we can hold Obama to doing the right thing. But in all fairness, how can he possibly break a promise when he hasn't set foot in office yet? The economy is spiraling out of control, oil has fallen from $150/barrel this summer to $46/barrel today, Bush is sabotaging whatever he can as quickly as he can and yet Obama still appears to be doing a phenomenal job of preparing for his Presidency.
No one knows what will be left of this country on January 20th, but I am delighted that Obama seems to be anything but a "stay the course" kinda guy. So long as he sticks to the vision he stated throughout the campaign I will not be upset if the specifics change a little (mind you, some things are more important than others).
I want to see the changes we were promised but I think it's a good think to give the guy a chance. One of the most important issues to me is to see our civil liberties restored, but I don't expect to see it on day one. I will be watching, but I do not intend to start complaining intensely until he has had at least a year in office.”

Cindy McCain's Half-Sister: I'm Voting For Obama
Commented Aug 28, 2008 at 16:33:54 in Politics
“I love the fact that Cindy has been telling people she is an only child when in fact she has 2 half sisters. I see why she wants to bury them. I don't get the conservatives who, in the past placed so much importance on family values. McCain admittedly had several affairs during his first marriage then left his children and injured first wife (the one who waited for him while he was a POW), all to marry this rich heiress who he calls a "c*nt." Barack Obama and Joe Biden are clearly devoted, loving husbands and fathers and no one, no one has been able to counter that. Just watching Obama and Biden interact with their wives and children as well as the fact that they both married strong, smart women says so much about their character. Yet, somehow family values is no longer important to the conservatives. I don't know what IS important to them any more. There is no message from McCain or the GOP. What are they "for"? We know what conservatives are against (Obama), but what are they "for"?”

“Wow! This guy REALLY doesn't get it. Neither do his advisors. The number of houses a presidential candidate owns is as irrelevant as his POW experience. The point I am preaching to the choir here is that many Americans have lost their only homes, about a million are in the process of losing their only home and many more are fighting every day to keep their only home.
For someone with several homes (and big, fat, nice, expensive ones they are too) to forget how many he has, like I might forget how many cans of tomato sauce are in my pantry shows he is one scary dude to be in charge of our economic future.”

“Zoom, many states do require informed consent, but I am against it. The medical profession has many rules, regulations and ethical canons that govern how a doctor relates to his patients. Many doctors have terrible bedside manners. Some doctors believe it is best to train a nurse or counselor to discuss all of the issues before the procedure. Many doctors do this to prepare their patients for many different procedures. Care must be taken to legislate how doctors relate to their patients. It might not be a good thing.”

“The way the two campaigns have been run is an excellent example of how the candidates would lead as President. Candidates have to balance fund raising, organizing a team, dealing with constant attacks and push forward a positive image. Let's take a look:
Obama put together a team of crack professionals and got them to work together well with absolutely NO leaks and they are all clearly focused on the message & the campaign. Obama has raised a record amount of money with a record number of individual and small donors. Obama has done well to keep on message and deflect the massive amount of smears and lies thrown at him. What doesn't hit the news is the death threats and abusive language from white supremisists. Still, he stays positive and moves forward without getting combative.
McCain, in contrast, much like Hillary Clinton has had a revolving door of campaign advisors, leaks like a sieve and changes in direction often. He has terrible time raising money from anyone except big donors and his campaign nearly went bankrupt early this year. Luckily for him the RNC is funding most of the McCain campaign. McCain has no message, except an anti-Obama message. I don't even know what he is for.
Don't take my word for it. Read these articles which compare/contrast the way both men have run their campaigns:

“this is a total ruse. You pro-lifers are so played by this "born alive crap." There is not one documented case of a fetus being born "alive," i.e. living and breathing on its own as the result of a legal abortion. The partial birth abortion thing was not much better as an issue. I don't remember the number, but when it all came down to it the whole "pro-life" movement was whipped into action and convinced that babies brains were being sucked out of their heads at every abortion clinic in the country. When it came down to it there were only a few doctors who had performed the procedure and it was only a few times (I forgot the precise number, but it was a single digit) and it was done because the mother's life was at stake and the baby was either seriously deformed or also risked imminent death.
The ONLY reason for all of these faux issues is that your glorious leaders are playing you to try to get you to put pressure on legislatures to chip away at a woman's right to reproductive choices. By voting against a ban on partial birth abortion (which is not a medical term) or something with the "born alive" terminology the pro-choice legislators were being set up to look like baby killers if they didn't vote for the bill or sell-outs if they did.”

"Pro-lifers" spend all of their attention, effort and their precious one vote to protect a potential human, a group of splitting cells, and fight just as hard to oppose accurate family planning information, contraception and other means to PREVENT unwanted pregnancies in the first place. I wish these people would fight half as hard to stop the massacre of people who are already living on this earth and who have lives and families of their own.”

“You are right, zoom. McCain is more experienced. He has a long lifetime of experience in making tragic personal mistakes (see http://raw story.com/ news/2008/ CNN_specia l_investig ates_McCai ns_greates t_moral_08 20.html), a long history of womanizing, cuddling up with powerful neocons and lobbyists to seek power, experience in making policy blunder after policy blunder, experience in remaining ignorant to basic economic principles (admits he doesn't know much about economics), probably has never read the Constitution, much less read it, he has experience in voting 90% with the Bush Administration (that is when he was present -- he holds the distinguished honor of the highest absentee record in the Senate), McCain has experience crashing five fighter planes (in all fairness, the last one was shot down), he has experience in being tortured and in pushing for legislation torturing others.
I have had it with this "experience" crap. I would prefer a candidate who isn't experienced in the nasty ways of Washington any day, a candidate who has held at least one job in the private sector or man who has oversight experience in the military.
To quote another poster from another blog: "In 26 years[this blog discussed Obama], one can have two kinds of experiences. One is 26 years of learning and achieving. The other is one year, repeated 26 times. It seems to me, Mr. McCain has had the latter career path and that it has been one of achieving failure."”

“You must have a lot of adopted kids in your house because there are thousands of babies out there available for adoption who end up living their lives under the care of the state. Oh wait, I guess you mean only healthy, white babies, yeah, there are a shortage of those available for adoption.
As someone who worked in the legal end of the foster care system for several years I have heard the argument that adoption is favored over abortion, yet when it comes down to it, I have only met 2 families who actually put that belief into action. There are hundreds of thousands of children who were born, are alive, are currently in the foster care systems which in all 50 states is underfunded, poorly administered and is at a crisis point for lack of people willing to adopt and foster children.
These are children who are alive and need a loving home now. To watch listen to people like you, so ideologically opposed to abortion that they would rather see a child brought into this world just to become abused and neglected, yet do nothing about the children who need a family now, well, it just baffles me.”

“I hope NBC will not be bullied by this faux outrage tactic. NBC as well as the other corporate media have given McCain's negative ads more air time and attention than any other issue in this campaign. To feign outrage when, during a commentary a legitimate issue is raised and discussed. The POW issue is getting old. The use of McCain's POW experience as a shield is unacceptable. McCain is running for President. He has shown moral weakness in his personal life (dumping his injured wife and his kids for a younger, rich woman), ethical weakness (Keating 5 and staffing his campaigns with powerful DC lobbyists) and there are questions about his intellectual ability (e.g. graduating in the very bottom of his class at the naval academy,. There are serious questions about his military record which cannot be addressed because he refuses to release his entire file (19 pps out of 360 have been released). NBC and other "news" outlets should be scrutinizing his file. Instead, HE WAS A POW, HOW DARE YOU! is what we see when someone goes anywhere near this issue. I hope the media stops being intimidated by this tactic and starts to investigate to determine the truth of everything about John McCain as they are doing with Obama.
