“My point is that this show is not now, nor has it ever been, about dance skills (Bristol Palin anyone?), but it is about fan base. The people who go on and on about how it is all a popularity contest every season should just get over it already. If you want to watch a real ballroom competition, watch the national and international ballroom championships that air on PBS every year.”
“What surprises me is not who goes home each week, but` that some people still think this about the best dancer. It never was and most likely never will be.”

“I predict that Derek will win, and the producers and ABC made that decision before the stars were chosen to dance. After reading the viewers' comments throughout the season, I noticed that many females voted for Derek because they love him, and very few actually said they liked Amber. TV commercials featured this couple. They also danced last when there was a three way tie, and Bruno gave them the extra point to win. This time their first "dance" was more like an exercise routine, where they sat at a table for most of the performance. Yet they scored high. There have been no difficult dance moves or challenging choreography, and many other couples have outdanced these two, but they get the higher scores from the judges. Why? Because the results of the finals were established before the first show of the season ever aired.”
“Ok, that one made me spit out my tea. Well played sir, well played.”

“I am King Spitt Taek. I am all-powerful. No mortal is safe from my spit-take-inducing powers, even from far across in-..... The Forest of the Interwebs..... where the Arachnids of Lulz do lurk. FEAR ME!”
“"That is what our children lack…. discipline, they all want wifi instant gratification, with no effort put forth," but yet you decry something that as you stated will ensure "….the same standards being taught across the nation." Are they rigorous? For some, maybe. Not everything is easy for everyone. That's life. You are seeing the lack of discipline and standards, yet you don't want anything that is going to make the student put forth the effort.
If you think what I am seeing with students dropping out has "nothing to do with our current educational standards", you are gravely misinformed. The US was once consistently in the top 5 in the WORLD in educational standards for grade schools. Now, we are 17th. That, my dear, has EVERYTHING to do with the LACK of educational standards this country has seen fit to settle for. I will say that you are right that society plays a big role in that, but the two in this case are not mutually exclusive.
And since my daughter is in the pilot school for our district for CC, I am WELL aware of what is being proposed and how it will be implemented and I have no issues with it at all. But once again, this is my opinion, one that seems a little more informed than yours, but mine all the same. So, we can agree to disagree on the matter. I really have nothing else to say about it.”
“Good for her! Took me a while to learn that forgivess is not for the other person, but for yourself. The only person you are hurting hanging on to resentment and the like is you. That's just my own personal philosophy, and it has worked very well for me thus far.”
