“extra credit kudos to lawrence o'donnell for his manly , yet polite beat-down of ankle biter/constitutional scholar katy abrams yesterday on HARDBALL. this woman was nearly gleeful that her family was approaching their $5,000 health coverage deductable. whats scary is that when you throw in their annual premiums (i'm guessing) they have to pay out at minimum $10,000 before their policy kicks in (at what %?)...its amazing to me the measures the foot-shooters go to defend their oppressors...gee...p.s. mr. reich , i have long been an admirer of you... may god shadow your every step.”

She mentioned she has an HSA to go along with that high deductible plan. Know why the insurers live the idea of HSA's. Because they're turning themselves into the place to deposit that HSA. Wellpoint got the feds to reclassify them as a financial institution. From the LA Times:

The Federal Reserve
Board eventually agreed that the company's core insurance business could be considered financial services
. But what about its mail-order pharmacy and its program for managing chronic diseases, which was overseen by WellPoint doctors and nurses? Wasn't that healthcare?
WellPoint finally convinced the Fed that those activities were merely "complementary" to its main business -- financial services. It pledged to limit them to less than 5% of total revenue.

after imus was let go at msnbc i fervently hoped you'd get his spot, because as I am a democrat i also want to hear the other side to get a well rounded informed view in order to form my own conclusions.
personally i'd like your show better if you'd rein in uncle pat when he morphs onto whatever that thing is he becomes when logic and reality escape him. while awaiting for a better tomorrow it would warm my heart for both sides of the aisle to back off some from the party line and getting their hands around the issues we all face as one. its hard to find a solution when responsible folks are busy pointing fingers and looking for irrelevant "gotchas"
