“Remember when Obama spoke out against invading Iraq. He said the US should not be using our power to unilaterally invade a country that has not attacked us.
I sure miss that guy.....”

“I'm sorry but I missed the part about the President's plan to invade Syria. Actually, he has repeated said that any US response will be limited and targeted to deter Assad from future use of chemical weapons and will neither involve "boots on the ground" or effect the outcome of the civil war. It is McCain and Graham that are pushing for a more significant US intervention. The President understands the foolishness of such a move and will continue to reject it. It is certainly arguable that even a cruise missile attack would be an ineffective deterrent and may be counter productive, but it is unfair to condemn the President for an action that he and his Administration has repeatedly rejected taking.”
“The Neo Cons are really the internationalist who use to be a part of the Democrats from FDR to LBJ. after Nixon won and the GOP were winning landslide elections, they switched to the current Neo Cons. But watch out, now the the Dems with their new majority can start winning elections, these internationalist turned Neo Con will turn into Neo Libs in a second.”
“The congressional districts are so rigged that it doesn't matter if there was term limits. 90% of the congressional districts will vote for the same party that they always do. There is very few competitive districts left.”
“I think success is simply living the life you want to live doing the work you want to do and sharing your life with friends and family. I think too many people have defined success through the lens of money at the expense of everything else.”
“Not surprising. I went to UC Irvine and when i was in school the faculty outnumbered administrators by 2 to 1. Now the school has more administrators than faculty. Yes with all the advances in technology my school feels it needs more administrators to figure out how to educate students while downsizing faculty. The whole college model is about expanding buildings and administrators while students pay for these luxuries with loans while class sizes explode. But at least we will have a school administrator to run a program analyzing how we "feel" about more student loans and less professors.”
“The NSA shifting through personal data, drones watching from above, IRS abusing its authority, GITMO opened indefinitely, assassination of Americans without trial, endless wars and torture. I love how every 4 years we get to hear how different the Republocrats are. Yet both parties are in compete agreement at stripping away at personal liberty. Thank you Republocrats.”

“As a liberal I can't understand why progressives always make excuses for the Cuban government which is a dictatorship overseeing a police state. They always divert attention to the embargo and Guantanamo. They say well the US has its share of political prisoners. Well I am against the embargo, the injustice of our legal system and Guantanimo. But two wrongs don't make a right. I want to see change on the embargo but I also long for the day the Cubans break free of this dictatorship.”

“What we think is that ending the embargo will help lead Cuba to democracy, because keeping the embargo has not. I also think that the Castro regime uses the embargo as an excuse for all their problems. We are doing them a favor.”
“I get the arguments that you disagree with a persons position on issues. There are plenty of public figures that I disagree with. But when tragedy has struck many of these people, I never felt the need to use those events to attack those people. There is a time and place for disagreements.
Any one that uses a tragedy to attack someone should check themselves. Think it speaks volume about those individuals.”
