“I lived there for 15 years with a 30 yr fixed and only spent half as much as the bank approved us for and I was out of work for nearly two years or just getting part time hours but I'm working again now.”
“And they continue to call themselves "patriots." What's really sad is if the Republicans would have stood up to the tea party a couple of years ago, they'd likely be controlling the house and the senate. Running those tea party candidates cost them a few seats in the last election”
“I don't blame Obama for being uncomprimising. He's got the high card in this deal. The GOP has lost on the health care issue. They lost when it got through Congress. They lost when it was upheld by the Supreme Court when one of their own,John Roberts, sided with the the majority. And they lost again when Obama won reelection. It's time for people like Ted Cruz to stop acting like that kid on the playground who takes their ball and goes home because they didn't get their way. You lost on this issue and it's not fair to the people of this country that they're being held hostage because the tea party isn't getting their way.
Boehner and Cantor and the rest of them backed the wrong horse and they're paying for it. They need to go ahead and throw them off the boat.”

“It's funny how these republicans were behind Ted Cruz.........up until the moment that they saw that the vast majority of Americans are blaming their party for this mess. I just wish someone would have gotten some video footage.”

“Like the last presidential election, they somehow managed to convince themselves that Americans would blame the President. How do they do this? Is it only because they listen to sycophants? Somebody in that group should have been skeptical.
“yeah, they're working with them by continuing to try to press for something they know has no chance in hell with passing. As far as Obama and the democrats go, why should they negotiate? They won on the health care issue. It passed the Congress, was upheld in the Supreme Court, and validated when Obama won reelection. Republicans lost on that issue and they need to let it go.”
“I swear these republicans are something else, it's just a neverending circle. "The Health care law won't pass Congress"......it passes congress. "Okay, then we'll take it all the way to the Supreme Court, no way John Roberts upholds the law, he's one of us." The Supreme Court upholds the law. "Well, the American people will be so outraged by this, that it will cost Obama the election and then we'll get rid of it." Obama wins the election. "Well....well, either you do what we want or we're taking our ball and going home." That's just what the house republicans are acting like.”
“" It's true that the university, for whatever reason, offered provisional admission to some students with lower test scores and grades than Fisher. Five of those students were black or Latino. Forty-two were white. -Pro Publica report on the Fisher Court case."
5 were black or latino? I could see the problem with it had all 47 of them been black or latino, but only 5 out of 47?”

“For the racists even one white privilege denies is one too many.”

“Not knowing much about the case, I would assume that the issue is not whether any of the 47 students with lower test scores were admitted, but whether any of them were admitted based in whole or in part on the pigmentation of their skin. I doubt that any of the white students with lower test scores were given preference based on their skin color?”
