Why Joe Biden Should Resign

“If there are less than 100 members of Al Qaida left in Afghanistan, why are we still there? Are we gonna chase them from country to country? No. Bring our troops home, spend all that money on intelligence, DEFEND our country HERE. Isn't that what our military is? Defense? If George Bush had DEFENDED this country using the intelligence given to him, if he had defended this country against the 911 attackers using our DEFENSE, we wouldn't be in this mess. We all know why he pretended to go after Bin Laden in Afghanistan and why he invaded Iraq. This whole thing is a joke and is based on one big lie. This is not a "war" where we are fighting another country's army. These people are all over the world, including here. The big "made-up" fear is, if we leave Afghanistan, what, they'll attack us again? They'll follow us home? Seriously? They're already here! They're everywhere! Once again, intelligence and defense here at home seems to be the only answer. Stop wasting money and precious lives on Georgy's big f***-up. Leave the wasp nest and let the primitive Middle Easterners fight amongst themselves.
Ariana is simply trying to make a point. What will it take for us to wake up and look at this thing with some common sense? Don't wait 10 years and say, "Wow, maybe we should have left."”

“The widely held idea is that the Taliban is much closer to al-Queda than they let on and that if we go (1) the Taliban will quickly be back in power and (2) al-Queda will be back with a major base in Afghanistan.
Both of those make sense to me (unlike the idea of Biden resigning--if he really does represent a minority viewpoint to Obama).”

“How would you know what God says? The Bible? That was written by politicians and rewritten several times by men to serve their own agendas. Why would you want to believe that the source of all creation is a bigot? You think God is a close-minded, backwards, hate-mongering hillbilly? That's funny. And by the way, why do you pass judgment when you are told, "Do not judge"? I don't get it, you spew this religious c.r.a.p, yet you don't practice it. One thing is for sure, you aren't the judge and you have no clue who God is because you reek of hatred.”

“Frankly, I'm insulted. Money is what motivates republicans. Republicans can be bought and they motivate their uneducated, violent base with fear (lies) Unfortunately, money and fear rule this country. Money buys influence, money buys you a voice. And since money = power, republicans have more. Period.
If it wasn't for Democrats we wouldn't have most of what constitutes the American way of life. Not to mention Social Security, Medicare, and Civil Rights. It's unconscionable that we have to fight so hard within our own borders for our rights to real freedom...health and education, even happiness. Because for that to become a reality, the republican party would no longer exist.”

“It is not only the health insurance industry that will lose profit that is at work at preventing reform. In the eyes of Republicans, if the president fails to pass true health care reform, it will be gold mine for them to use when election time comes around. This is their only motivation for everything that they do, well, that and money. They will use all the same scare tactics, lies and distortions they have used the past few weeks to win votes......"The American people spoke and stood up for their freedoms and refuse to be controlled by big government." And that's very mild compared to what they will actually say.
August is not only the make or break month of health care reform. It is the make or break month of Democratic control. The Republicans will keep pushing and they will go as far as they have to, because this is how they will regain seats.
It's time to pass health care reform Mr. President. Don't let them do it again or do what they did to President Clinton. They destroyed the reputation of a brilliant man that had this country on the right track all for the sake of their own political gain, never for this country. And look at what our country is has been put through because of their greed.”

“First of all, heroin and cocaine are very addictive, dangerous drugs. Pot is not. No one has ever overdosed, became ill, or much less died from smoking pot. NO ONE...zero. It's harmless. Alcohol has destroyed more lives and killed more people than any other substance. It's legal and shouldn't be!
Your words: "I'm not going to deal with all the problems that come with something like pot going mainstream" There are no problems. Pot smokers don't wander around aimlessly stoned. How ridiculous. Most people stay in their home and mind their own business. The worst that can happen is they might get hungry. They don't become violent like drunks do. And you can't compare pot smokers to people smoking cigarettes. You're whole argument has no basis whatsoever, except stereotyping and the stigma attached to pot.
You remind me of those people who were offended when Lucy had appeared on her TV show pregnant. And God forbid her and Ricky share the same bed! Oh my! Get out the smelling salts!! We've come a long way, baby. Time to get over the silliness and get real.”

“Where do you think the money comes from for all those services that are provided by the states? You say that they are "in no way socialistic?"!! Do you not know what Socialism is? All those services are paid for by taxpayers of these "United" States. So, your point would be, if you DID know what it means, "Socialism is okay in state governments, but not in the Federal Government?" So if the states are Socialistic, then, THAT Socialism is okay. And since we all live in states, being Socialists is okay? But you hate the idea of Socialism? Was that the point you were trying to make? So, is Socialism bad or not?
I do know one thing. It is NOT the job of the Federal Government to teach people and businesses a lesson by "letting them fail" or "they will never learn" My God, this is our country we are talking about. Let them fail? LET THEM FAIL??? Do you not understand how many millions of people we are talking about here? Do you not understand what is happening? If anything, it IS the Federal Governments job to protect it's people. Whether this plan works or not, it will be up to all of us and you need to get a better concept of what living in a "society" is all about.”

“If it is the governments job to protect businesses from failing, why not just nationalize every industry, every job, everything? If the government is going to refuse to let businesses fail, then the government is ALREADY running them. Why is the govt. picking and choosing which industries to help, isn't that discrimination? Why does the auto industry get a bailout and not the 9 person company I work for? Are not our jobs just as important?
If there is no risk in running a business, why worry about doing things the right way?”

“How is "creating jobs and making sure people do not become homeless" power grabbing? Why are republicans so against a happy, healthy, prosperous society? Just because you don't like a word (socialism), doesn't mean that the "concept" is wrong. The concept is about people, citizens, country. You spout about loyalty and patriotism, yet you hate the idea of citizens, your own countrymen, living a care-free, worry-free, healthy, prosperous life. You sit in judgment of those less fortunate than yourself and also spout about being spiritually superior. The alternative to what all this money will do is hunger, poverty, homelessness, suffering, greed, and hatred. So, I don't get what it is you actually want.”

“Why on EARTH would Republicans in congress want this country to recover and become prosperous under Obama's watch? They are so set on belittling the content of this bill and using the same ole tired, worn out phrases they use to describe Democrats: overspending, pet projects, growing big government. I guess volunteers, jobs, infrastructure, education, green energy aren't in their vocabulary. They have no vision for the future. They only have obstruction, tax cuts for their oil and corporate buddies and winning the next election in mind. Screw the country and the American people.
Why on EARTH would republican citizens who voted for McCain want this country to recover and become prosperous under Obama's watch? They call their congressmen and rant and rave warning them to NOT support this bill. They would rather live in a cardboard box and have to scrounge for food just so they can say, "See!! Told ya Obama was gonna destroy this country!" They probably pray for another terrorist attack just so they can say that W. kept us safe.
They destroyed a president during prosperous times for getting blown. That's almost criminal to me. The division is this country is so bad that people would rather see their neighbor suffer than to all pull together and change the way we do things.
I suppose Obama has the right idea, though. You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.”

I don't support tax cuts for the rich, never have. I don't support ideas that got us here in the first place and ones that insure Obama and the economy fail.
The Republicans want to give mouth to mouth when what is needed is the paddles. They want to throw a pebble in to very large gaping hole. They don't mind "spending" when it comes to rebuilding Iraq. But when it comes to rebuilding the economy of their own country, all the sudden "spending" is bad.
If Obama allows them to undo this bill, he is allowing them to dig his own political grave and the economic grave of this country. So, which is more important? Bipartisanship or the Country?”
