“So you gave up on Bush when after 10 months, he didn't get Bin La*den? No one, and I mean no one, can solve the problems this man inherited on January 20th of this year in any time even close to 10 months.

Your post doesn't even make sense.”

“Do you understand what "net" profit means? Only 1% of small business owners get to that point. "Net" means your profit after all of your expenses. I'm a small business owner and in the past have had years where I fell into that category but being in Michigan, I'm a long way from that now.”

“Let's hope he's that fortunate to make a net profit of $250,000 in order to qualify for that tax cut that would put him at the same level this income bracket was at prior to the Bush taxcuts for the wealthy.”

ManUTd1989 replied on Nov 24, 2009 at 16:28:48

“yea sorry, I totally got caught up in gross profit there. that's what I get for typing and doing, of all things, economic work at the same time.

trust me, I'm not proud of myself at the moment.

however, I still think those higher tax brackets are unfortunate. I think success should be rewarded, not punished. that's the basis for the American Dream, that if you work hard, you'll be well off.

people should give because they want to, and if they don't want to, they shouldn't have to. Taxes should be equal for all citizens. If someone has more leftover after April 15, then more power to them.”

ManUTd1989 replied on Nov 23, 2009 at 20:25:41

“That would be great. however, when you take $250,000 a year-(rental space+employee wages+healthcare+raw materials+equipment base price+equipment maintenance+permits+etc.) you'll find that there's not a lot left over.

most owners take years before they can even pay themselves, and they're the lucky ones that don't fail within 6 months. with the new taxes, his uncle would be out of hard-earned cash that he deserved as soon as he reached a point of relative stability.”

AnotherMcIntosh replied on Nov 23, 2009 at 22:27:40

“So now it comes out that you favored Bush for at least his first 10 months and now, based on that logic, you shifted your loyalty to Obama and want others to favor him for at least 10 months or more?

In contrast, I never favored Bush. My loyalties to a Constitutional system of government, with check-and-balances and the rule of law, remain the same. Obama, with the help of a great many Democratic leaders, managed to trick me and others for a while. First was his support for the immunity bill for the telecoms that spied upon all of us for the Bush Administration. Then it was his support for the bail-out-and-let's-give-bonuses-to-billionairs bill. He also had time to reverse his position on not hiring lobbyists for his Administration. And then he continued with the we-have-to-have-greater-secrecy-while-we-continue-endless-wars-and-transfer-even-more-money-to-the-billionairs.

So why did you support Bush for as long as 10 months and more?”

“Thanks. It's just so frustrating when the media and our representatives in DC make this into a complete political situation instead of trying to solve this huge mess. It's more important for the right or the left to win points than to do anything to help people. This healthcare debate is a perfect example of this. To think that the Repubs couldn't care enough for the American people to vote at the very least to debate is immoral.”

you can accuse someone of anything you want, but if you cannot prove it or even bring an indictment then you have nothing but an ad hominem attack. which, by the way, is useless.”
