“oh please...until he tries to help himself he's got nothing to complain about. his family has paid for rehab repeatedly, but he doesn't want to change. Until he does, it's simply throwing good money after bad.”

“Thank you for taking action on this. There are good citizens who may have never served in the military are our heroes who have been there. It is everywhere in America where these big corporations are doing this. Home Depot is a huge offender of this as well. The Semper Fi Fund does a lot of work to get these guys stabilized so that they don't have to hide in their own homes. This incident set this warrior way back. God Bless you!!!!!”
“wow. I am totally not surprised, however. When you have the ignorant leading the more ignorant, this is what happens.
nest thing you know they'll be saying that humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time....oh. Right. Never mind.”
“I read some of these comments and I it only reinforces my general disgust with most of the human 'creatures' that live here. What you refuse to understand (or maybe your reading skills are not good enough for you to understand and process) is the fact that there are millions of people in this same situation. NOT people who have spent generations on welfare, either. I'm another unemployed person that has the misfortune to live in GA. THERE ARE NO JOBS. I am a college grad. I am a certified teacher
I cannot even get callbacks for fast food jobs.
My state won't retrain me so that I can get a job in a different field, because some genius decided that teaching was a 'critical'
I have applied for every teaching job on the Ga teaching job board. I have applied country-wide for teaching jobs.
The sad fact remains-regardless of what the geniuses on here think-there ARE NO JOBS.
A single person with NO kids, I'm pretty much starving-every cent I can borrow/beg is going to keeping a roof over my head and the lights on.
I have sold everything of any value that I have.
I don't qualify for ANY assistance
I want to work. I'm qualified to do many things, have a college education, and I'm willing to do anything that is safe, legal, and will pay me enough money to live.
Forget 'extras' I just want to be able to buy groceries.”

“You may be educated, but you are most definitely not smart. Maybe you should have done your homework and gotten a job in a real field with real available jobs instead of boxing yourself into teaching. Maybe you could have gone to a better school. Maybe you shouldn't have wasted your time and money on college if it wasn't going to make a difference in your wage. There are a lot of "maybes" that you are ignoring......then you make it clear that even though you have a college education, you are still LOOKING for public assistance because you seem outraged that the State won't "retrain" you to get a job in a different field? How has your incompetence in picking your field and getting a job fallen to the State's responsibility? If your state is so horrible, move to another state. People come to America from across the planet for the opportunities here, but you can't leave your state?
You are defending the subject of this story because you are just as much of a screw up, but you've only screwed up your own life and not the life of a child, too.”

I agree with you. Many of the above comments were turning my stomach. All the emphasis on individual responsibility without regard to the total lack of opportunity or help from our so called Christian society to help provide constructive alternatives.”

“I read how teachers ( and other public sector workers) are well educated and highly needed. Thats why they get such outstanding benefits and are paid more(including benefits) than private sector workers. Thats what the unions and politicians keep spouting. So it seems very odd that such a well qualified worker cant find a trivial private sector job. After all, we are 'doing just fine'”

“Your situation is not the same as those depicted in the article. Not even close.
And yes, there are MILLIONS of people in the same situation as the parasites in the article. Are there MILLIONS of unemployed teachers unable to buy groceries? No.”

“Sadly there are few jobs anywhere. You think retraining will help? Can you apply for student loans again, grants, etc to get that "retraining", but what field would you retrain for...medical?”

“Thank you for speaking up, people really do believe everyone that needs help is uneducated and lazy. I hope things get better for you.”
“unfortunately all too true. The last place I taught used to pull the same garbage-send kids back to class with no consequences after behavior.
That was the year one of my fellow teachers was beaten up at school during a class. She got days off for 'daring' to defend herself against an 8th grader that was a foot taller and 100 lbs heavier than her. He was back the next day. I called the police on him personally as I had witnessed the attack.
I didn't so much care when they laid a bunch of us off that year-myself and the woman beat up were at the top of the list for our school.
Not sure I ever want to teach again-but definitely NOT at that school system”

“I can't blame you. Take your time and look before you leap. I taught for 39 years and may look to junior colleges now.”

“The only home fitness stuff I've ever used has been resistance bands. They work the best out of any of that stuff and don't take up any room. Altho I did at one point have one of those ab chair thingies. It was a great place to fall asleep on my porch when it rained out!
I found all of the info on them at my fave workout site- six pack abs v”
