CNN DENIES Kathy Griffin Banned From Network

“Same results -- hilarious commentary that made the othet networks with their insipid "happy talk" hosts look pathetic.

Griffin and Cooper are the perfect duo -- she does the bad girl thing, he giggles and pretends to be appalled.

We loved it!”

“Right -- but Stein says that it was clear that CNN AGREED to such a focus, and CNN later said they had not agreed.

An interviewee can ask, demand or say "I"ll only discuss x and y," but rarely do real news organizations agree to those stipulations. When I read Stein's comment I thought it sounded unlikely; CNN has denied it and no one from Ensign's camp has come forward to say oh yes, there was an agreement.,

So I still think Stein's comment as written is false, unfair to CNN and should be retracted because it is not true.

At least that's how real reporters and media outlets handle errors.

Otherwise, HP is no different than Fox News.”

Commented Jan 02, 2010 at 19:37:30 in Politics

“Posted a note on this yesterday -- that Stein accuses CNN of giving Ensign a promise that they wouldn't discuss the affair -- but Stein gives no source for that claim.

And Sanchez says on the air categorically that NO such promise was ever made.

SO -- is Stein making this up, or just saying things he imagines, as if they are fact.

A real journalist a real news outlet would post a retraction.

But Stein hasn't and the story STILL contains his comment which has now been proven false.

Of course somehow my much more detailed post has vanished -- a criticism of HP "moderated" out of existence.

SO let's see if this one gets posted.

Funny how HP and it's "reporters" can dish out the criticism of other media, but apparently don't think they have to a) stick to the facts, b) retract or correct stories that are inaccurate, or c) publish complaints from readers about same.

WILL THIS GET POSTED HP CENSORS??? (and what happened to my other comment?)”

HST replied on Jan 03, 2010 at 20:28:05

“Perhaps Mr.Stein was referring to Ensign's own words:

"And we told you when we were going to come on here that I'm going to be focused on health care, I'm going to be focused on the economy... "

Certainly one can infer from these words that Ensign was telling CNN he wanted to talk only about healthcare and the economy.”

“So how PATHETIC is Newsweek?

ONE "anonymous" source says the president received a ROUTINE briefing with ZERO information about this individual or the plan/plot . . . . . . and let's all run screaming into the streets.

HEY -- I'll bet someone told the president it was going to be cold in the Midwest in January, and I'm sittin' here today in Ohio freezing and he has done NOTHING about it.

The guy is clearly a total goof off and let's impeach him.

No wonder Newsweek is down to about 15 pages of content and 4 pages of ads.”

Commented Dec 30, 2009 at 01:21:40 in Politics

“OMG, you actually BELIEVE DeMint's insane logic?

You don't even know what the nominee believes because there hasn't been a hearing.

And SO WHAT if he is OK with unions??

Does that mean TSA workers will instantly vote to unionize and then go on strike the next day?

But while you're on this wacko train of thought, then I guess you want all police and firefighters to immediately disband their unions because clearly they are all out on strike and "we have no protection."

And of course we all know how great the FAA is after Reagan destroyed the controllers' union, right?

Bottom line -- one senator should not be able to attempt to cripple a critically important government function because he personally has issues with the nominee.”

“He sat reading MY LITTLE PONY while the twin towers collapsed.

That's ACTING like a commander in chief??

And then got on planes and flew all over, while Cheney ran the country.

That's not EVEN acting like a commander in chief, it's acting like a scared kid.

Oh -- I know what you mean -- when he came to the site and hollered around on a bull horn.

Yup, that was a pretty good ACT.

Just like when he put on a flight suit -- like he'd ever been a military man -- and landed on an aircraft carrier and said we WON this war, yee haa!

I'm sure the troops still in Iran, and the families who died there after Bush ACTED like a commander in chief and said WE WON, WE WON, are ready to give him a Golden Globe or an OScar.

You may think Obama looks like a deer -- many of us think he looks and sounds like a president who gets the facts first, who thinks clearly, who seeks counsel, and then speaks when he has something sensible and sane to say.

But then he isn't ACTING like a commander in chief, he is BEING one.

We know it's confusing to many -- it's been so long since there's been a true leader in the White House that there's a whole generation who don't understand what they are seeing, but we'll all get used to it.”

“I was alive back then and somehow I don't think you can QUITE compare the state of the economy at the end of Carter's term and Bush's.

I mean every economist on the planet says this is the worst recession since the Great Depression -- and it was said long before Obama was even elected, by politicians, by Bush's own treasury secretary and Cabinet, by economists.

The economy TANKED on Bush's watch, so please don't try to compare Bush to Carter, or the "fixing" that Obama has to do with what Reagan did.

Especially given that most economists say Reagan's "fixes" were the first steps toward the meltdown of 2008.

But then you people never can accept any responsibility or accountability for this mess -- it's all about blame Obama. Wonder what youo'd do had McCain "the economy is still sound" been elected??”

“so SO true, KathyinCt. Reaganomics was the start of it all... 20 years in the making... and the bubble economy we had in recent years was just fool's gold. This thing was bound to unravel because the so-called housing boom, the greed on Wall Street -- enabled by lax or non existent regulation.. et al just was never TRUE and REAL....Not to mention all the jobs exported. And with regard to health care, the politicians are so beholden to the insurance companies who have bankrolled their campaigns... so it's complex and it's complicated.... .. plenty of blame and hubris to go around...”

Then hell yes, I choose Obama.

As for your comment about "extortion" -- no idea what you mean.

Obama promised he would do hist best. He promised what he would try for.
He told us what he believed.

Then he encountered the Party of No, who made it clear they don't give a damn about the health bill or Americans' health, they just want to take him down.

THEN he encountered the stupid, greedy and/or evil ones in his OWN party (which only has 58 seats in the Senate, BTW -- Lieberman is NOT a Dem) -- which I don't think even someone as brilliant as you (or I) could ever have imagined.

And did the best he could with what he had.
