“Haha im sorry but that is a pretty weak theory. Regardless of how you feel about this case, nothing in the evidence even remotely supports what you were saying. He wasnt from the area, why would his friends be hiding in the bushes? Zimmerman followed him, are you saying an unarmed trayvon set up a trap.....to have zimmerman...what?”

“Awesome, such a simple solution its wonder no one has every thought of it before. Now if you can just go around and make sure everyone does just that it would be equally as awesome. No point in trying to think of solutions to an actual (and much larger issue) we will just tell people not to do it. Now if we could just get all the parents in this country to stop telling their teenagers to go out and have sex then maybe we wouldn't have so many teen moms. Seriously, I know being a gma at 36 is super appealing but stop encouraging your children to have sex. Oh wait you don't do that? And they STILL have sex? After you explained to them why they shouldn't and how its irresponsible? Crazyness.”

“Actually Daniel Decatur Emmett, an Irish white man, takes credit for writing the song in the 1850's. He was a black face performer (a white person who would paint their face black and parody African Americans). Although descendants of a family band of African Americans called the Snowden Family band and some historians claim that Emmett was taught the song by them. They argue that the song was written by African Americans as an extreme parody and in protest of slave life.”

JustMe98 on Dec 20, 2011 at 12:33:06

“Pardon me, I did not mean sung by a freed slave literally, it was sung by a white man in black face portraying a freed slave. I am also aware of the theory you mention, and that while some historians believe it to be true, others reject the idea. Lets say that they did write it, if so it was not used as a protest. It was used to give the institution of slavery a positive spin.”

“Deferring loans isn't a good thing. And it's not that we are too stupid to figure it out. I worked full time while attending college, went to a community college first then to a SUNY 4 year college and still had to take out 30k in student loans. You must have gone to college 20 years ago. Even though I don't make a ton of money, I never ever defer my loans. The interest on loans I had to take out while Bush was in office are at 6.8%, when you defer loans they still accrue interest or are you to stupid to understand that? I think the bigger issue with students being upset is the cost of college rising. My college tuition rose by 8% ever year that I was in college and this article states that is has risen 233 percent since 1990. Because college isn't something you can afford without loans (I guess you know another secret way) ever time there is an increase it is just more debt students need to take on. I have never ever met anyone in my life who has not needed to take out loans. Maybe you grew up in a family that could afford 20k a year in college costs, but most of us did not.”

As a non gun lover (fiancee is an avid hunter though) I actually think Obama has been to leaniat, he has done more for gun advocates than Bush has so I am just a little confused about what ammo words out mean and how he is taking "our" rites away. He signed a law permitting guns to be taken into national parks. He signed another allowing guns as checked baggage on Amtrak. He acted to preserve an existing law limiting the use of government information on firearms it has traced. Thanks for the help! Even the "assault weapons" ban signed by President Bill Clinton — and allowed to expire in 2004 — has no visible place on Obama's agenda. "Obama declared unequivocally, "I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe in people's lawful right to bear arms. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I do it because I am passionate about the populations, it helps with my studies, and looks great on my resume. I also spend a ton in gas money going back and forth and if I had children I would have to find and most likley pay somene to watch them. I love the idea of volunteering but I don't understand how people who have no income will be able to afford the gas money and child care costs associated with it. I also don't see how it truly brings down unemployment because you are not being paid and it is a temporary position. The two agencies I volunteer at would never turn my volunteer positions into paid positions no matter how great a job I do and how much they love me because it just isn't in the budget and will never be in the budget.”

PA Liquor Board Ad Accused Of Blaming Rape On Victims

“Because this ad is not placing any blame on the rapist. A girl should be able to do what she wants without worrying about a man forcing himself on her, no matter how drunk she is. To equate this ads message to a home security ad is really rather foolish and I fail to see the comparison. I don't have a home security system, so it's okay if someone robs me? You don't see the difference between a PSA about not getting raped in a parking lot and a PSA that says the victim shouldn't drink because she will get raped, really? If your daughter was raped would you say, well you shouldn't have been drinking or would you want to find the SOB that forced himself on her? If your son raped a drunk girl would you say, well she was wasted so it doesn't count? Blaming the victim is never a good message, if a girl is raped and she was drunk or drinking, how would she ever feel comfortable going to the police? If she didn't report that means a rapist would still be out there to pray on more women.”

nix28 on Dec 9, 2011 at 18:13:15

“Katie, I guess you live in an ideal world. I, however, live in reality. Ideally, a woman should be able to do whatever she wants and be ok. That's not how the world works, and pretending it does work that way only leads to bad situations. Nobody is saying that you deserve or should be robbed or raped or kidnapped or anything of that nature if you don't take the proper precautions.

The point is that there are actions that every person can take to increase their safety, and it actually makes getting justice a lot easier when those precautions are taken. It's common sense, but people want to get upset because it's not sugarcoated to make them feel good about their own decisions and beliefs.

There is no victim blaming here. It's straight up common sense, but apparently the realism of the consequences of excessive drinking are entirely too big of a pill to swallow for some people.”

RollingForest on Dec 9, 2011 at 17:23:41

“But you are more likely to be raped if you are drunk than if you aren't. That isn't blaming the victim. That is just a fact and you aren't helping the girls by keeping that information from them. All you are doing is putting more of them in danger by having them in situations where they are at risk.”

“Their tuition costs are expected to rise 82%, while salaries have increased for college administration officials, some make as much as 500k in that school system, that's okay with you? Asking students to take on more debt so they increase the money in their own pockets? that is outrageous. I go to a SUNY school and my tuition has risen 8% every year for the last 4 years. I already go to a state college, got my associates degree first at a state community college to save money and I am still 30k in student loan debt while working part-time/full-time throughout college. So your saying that I should just not go to college? That's your great input to problem, just don't do it? Who equates getting an education to products in a store? You don't get why students are upset, tuition costs have risen 400% in the last two decades but the education hasn't changed, we aren't getting more for our money. Maybe you never went to college or maybe you went to college in 1992 or maybe your parents paid for it, but telling kids who want an education to not get one doesn't fix any problems and is really an immature way of looking at it.”

stumanchu35 on Dec 9, 2011 at 09:23:24

Should I not marry my fiancée or should I be cast out of society since because I can not breed, I am worthless? Should I not be offered them same rights as other men and women who can , "create"? Of course no one would ever tell me that, because I am a heterosexual female. This is about homophobia, your homophobia and nothing else. If you are going to base a person's rights or how society should treat them based on their ability to "create" then you should hold everyone to your insane standards. Which is just about as ridiculous as your statement.”

When I tried to get it on my own, I was given quotes from 600 dollars per months-1000k per month. I go to the doctors maybe twice a year unless I get strep or something serious.
