I was stating that Mr. Cohen was the one who didn't accept someone's natural state of being, happy or unhappy, and that he said gay was a choice to could be reversed. You didn't fully understand what Mr. Cohen or I said. Mr. Cohen said that being gay and unhappy was simply a choice to be unmade. He "treats" unhappy gay people by helping them deny who they are. It's living a lie.

You can't choose your way out of being gay. Genetically, physiologically, biochemically, you're gay (or some variation thereof) whether you are "practicing" or not, whether you're trying to set aside that part of yourself for some reason or not.

It's very sad that some people are so understandably uncomfortable with who they are because of media portrayals they've seen, persecution, shame, rejection, what their religion tells them or something in their family upbringing.

Ideally, people with varying sexuality wouldn't be in a family, peer group, society etc. where they would feel bad about which gender they are attracted to and in what proportions. Typically it is external factors which result in unhappiness for people that are in some measure gay. In an accepting world, there wouldn't be much of a reason for some gay people to be unhappy with who they are.”

Strange how Mr. Cohen's vision of love doesn't include letting people be who they are but rather being who he thinks they should be.
