“As frustrated as the young man is, and his frustrations are important and real, still our president responded in a respectful and honest way. We are a nation of democracy and laws that need to be followed. And as messy as it is, over time truth and justice do prevail.”

“yet just today I literally saw protest of about 4 people holding oBama signs with Hitler mustaches. 'Cause nothing says disctator like "we are a country of laws". Our imagined 1st world problems are laughable. Any person that ever lived under REAL dictatorship wouldn't be allowed to protest in such manner, thus their protest IS in itself all the proof needed to show their protest false.”
“Clearly you are so filled with cynisism and no real knowledge of what mediatation really is, why do you bother responding here? However, you are correct, meditation IS NOT spiritual, it is mearly a practice of being with oneself and allowing all the fabricated stories and fears and other mental distractions we use to cope with NOT facing ourselves come up, which of course means over time the lies we used to employ no longer ring true and we get the opportunity to actually experience that and gently release them. The key here is emptying the mind. Try it... for 10 years or so and get back with us and let us know how you truly feel. : )”
“Gosh, Dr. Needleman, are you a party pooper or what? I thought an oncologist job is to bring cancer patients back to life and if this act of joy isn't a great amp up to her system before surgery, I'm not sure what would be? I'm in the middle of serious treatment for breast cancer; doing the Red Devil right now - I'm sure you know how despondent this chemo is. I've already done 12 rounds of Taxol and had my surgery last month, so I find Deborah's courage and zest for life inspiring. A few months back, on my birthday, with my fantastic oncologist's blessing, I had a b'day party with 6 friends, all the nurses and support staff at Cedar's and we danced, we sang, we had food, we took pictures and laughed our butts off all the while as I took a 4 hour infusion. Then me and my friends went to the beach later that day and kept the party going. It's called LIVING life to it's fullest no matter what is thrown your way. It's not what is given to you that matters as much as how you host what is given to you. It can be a party or it can be a total drag. It's your choice.”
“Thank you so much for your well wishes. It's a challenge to lose all your hair, and tho I have 8 weeks more to go in this 2nd cycle of chemo, the hair I lost in the last round is growing back - I'll lose it again in the next few weeks - sigh... BUT it shows that we do truly regenerate. My hope is to regenerate better, lighter, happier and healthier. : ) Best to you too...”

“You are strong!
You are amazing!
I can't imagine what you are going through. But I have lost hair due to bad perms, haircuts, bad hair products.
You WILL come out on the other side >>> regenerated, lighter, happier and healthier!!!!
“Wow. Get over yourself. This little girl wasn't trying to steal anyone's thunder. And lets be real - they are really, really little girls so your brand of stern discipline is not even appropriate. Maybe if they were 10 years old, but not 3 years old.”
“So what is your solution? Shutting down the government to appease a bunch of crackers tea-baggers who wouldn't help their own mother if she lay dying on the street? I am SO sick and tired of people like yourself spewing hateful comments about people who are in need - maybe because the economy that the Republicans destroyed for corporate and banking and miltary industrial gain might have lost them their job, their home, and their healthcare and their lifesavings?! I sure hope you never hit hard times.”
“My father's side of the family are racists but I am not. Now granted, my mother and father were educated and saw the world and people with much more of an open mind, so this was taught in my home. However, I certainly was exposed to racism and homophobia and could have latched onto that mindset if I chose to. So the daughter could have picked up this mindset anywhere - her husband, her lack of education, or lack of travel and seeing the world, her friends, who knows? And maybe her dad was more narrowminded and over the years found more compassion and heartspace for all people. Bottom line is, she chose her narrow views over loving her child and this is a lesson for her to learn from. Sadly it will effect her son but hopefully the love and acceptance he receives from his granddad with help compensate for this.”
“Hey, many educated freelance people such as myself at 50 are grateful for the California Covered. Don't just lump in the folks you think are lower class. We're all in it together and we all deserve affordable health care.”
