There are those in the other camp (so to speak) who like to belittle those of us who believe there was a conspiracy. It's rather tiresome. Sure, some of the theories are a little wacky, and some are so out in left field they're laughable. But if you look hard enough you can separate the wheat from the chaff.”

“SO true. I have eaten so many different types of vegan meals and the variety is there. I feel I have more variety and flexibility when meat is not a corner stone of the meal. When it is central everything else is too little. Take it out and you will see a ton of different ways to prepare a meal besides meat, potatoes and small amount of veggies.”

“I thought she was going to comment on the hypocrisy of his telling Clinton-Lewinsky jokes for the last decade. Does that use of "hypocrisy" work for you???!! Both of the women involved with these high-powered men were young, in their employ, and probably put the men on a pedestal. Only a very naive person would think that this doesn't happen every day, esp. in the professions where narcissism flourishes, like politics, entertainment, and higher education. (Oops, forgot medicine. And the arts. And, um, wherever highly educated and talented as*ho*es congregate.)

But most adulterers don't have a show that allows them to make fun of other dilly-dalliers--year after year, night after night. Letterman has probably intoned the name "Monica Lewinksy" as much as anyone else in that woman's life. I thought he did it in a lame attempt at humor, but it turns out he was just excited at the thought.”

“The only country that comes to mind is Italy with Berlusconi controlled media. I haven't been to Italy, so I can't claim validity in my suspicions. There is a new documentary about the media in Italy that I would very much like to see. I believe it's called Videocracy. It claims to expose the rise of faux reality-based programs and the stupification of their citizens as the result. Berlusconi has refused to allow the documentary to be shown on stations he controls. Some media would not show ads for the documentary because it was "offensive to the honor and personal reputation of the prime minister." Do we really honestly believe America would never delve into this arena? Jon Stewart and Colbert allow me to laugh at what I should probably be crying about. Thank goodness; otherwise, I'd be a fairly miserable person. I am very attuned to the health care debate and politics in general. I am close to tuning out on health care reform 'cause all the "news" from Congress is too depressing. I think America needs a new party of progressives.”
