“The issue at hand in reference to the Koch Bros. or a Hollywood mogul isn't about wealth. It's about SELFISHNESS. Oligarchs like the Koch Bros. see the working class the same way as farmers see cattle: a resource from which profit can be extracted. It's not about money, it's about HOW MONEY IS USED TO NEGATIVELY INFLUENCE THE LIVELIHOOD OF HARDWORKING AMERICANS of all races and creeds in order for the Koch Bros. et. al. to add another 0 to their bank accounts. That's it.”

“You do realize that organic-labelled fruits and vegetables still has pesticides? I'm not kidding around. They can still be labeled "organic" as long as "organic pesticides" are used. There's not much research I can find that really looks at the long term health issues associated with organic vs. inorganic pesticide compounds. But just because something is labeled "organic" doesn't mean it was raised without fertilizer and pesticides.”
“Have you ever come down with the flu? Have you ever come down with the flu the following year? That's evolution. Same virus, mutates every year, and reinfects those who have antibodies already present for the previous version of the flu. In this thing called REALITY, that's evolution.
Do a web search of "the earth is flat and therefore human activity can't impact global environmental conditions." Have fun, flat-earther.”
flipacoin on Jan 30, 2014 at 14:28:29
“Why is horizontal change observable but the vertical change is modeled? Gene flexibility that the flu virus has, is just a built in capability of already available information. The magic of evolving upwards of accidental genius of mutation by inserting and deleting of the four letters of the DNA into new species is called DNA sequence/indel evolution. That vertical changing is modeled. Simulated. Mathematically drawn. But not observed in real time.”
“"electric motors have all of their torque available throughout the entire rev range"
Incorrect: electrive motors have 100% torque available at 0 RPM, hence the impressive acceleration. The torque curve decreases inversely to RPM increase.”
Gmasters on Jan 30, 2014 at 20:06:16
“Yes, but note that he said "throughout the entire rev range".
Depending on the motor being used, an Electric motor will turn much higher RPMs than the car will ever use.
In fact, with a DC motor, the RPMs will continue to increase until you either stop feeding Power to it or the thing rips itself apart.
In an AC motor, the upper limit on RPMs is set by the AC Power Frequency. In a 60 Cycle motor, the Max RPM would be 3600.
In a 400 Cycle motor, the Max RPM would be 24,000.
Simple math formula:
# of Cycles per Second times 60 Seconds per minute = Max RPM.”
bear79 on Jan 30, 2014 at 14:09:32
“I stand corrected. I looked at the curve and yep torque does drop off at higher RPM (though remains flat for quite some time) I do realize that they say 100% torque at 0 rpm but never quite understood how something that isn't rotating has torque...”
“Why attack Warren Buffet? He's already given or pledged to give away almost ALL of his fortune to the less fortunate upon his death. If you wanna point fingers at greed, those that have worked hard to undermine the middle class, look at the Koch brothers. They inherited millions from their father who made his money by selling US technology to the Russians during the cold war. The same guys who now say Americans who make 35K a year should be happy with that because it's more than 99% of the rest of the world makes in a year. The same guys who use dark money to support legislation that reduces or eliminates minimum wage. There's nothing wrong with being a millionaire (Buffet, Gates). There's something wrong when you profit from the suffering of the middle class (Koch's).”

“why do you assume Warren is any different from the Koch Brothers??? Because he says he should pay more taxes??? Because he is giving away all the money he has been hoarding so he can feel better????? They are the same concerned about their wealth and could careless who they hurt to obtain and maintain it. Please see the wealth hoarders as they are takers. Gates and Buffet are Billionaires. Our money system is finite so if one person takes more than another person suffers. And again Gates, Slim Pickens, Warren Buffet, Steve Jobs, etc.... they are all the same.”
“YOU LIE! President (ahem) Obama said he would pull us out of Iraq. Last time I checked, that was the case. He emphatically pointed to Afghanistan as in continued need of military intervention, with which I agree.
To my point, YOU LIE (!).”

-Yes, to fight the Taliban. As IF the Taliban was going to be wiped! Jeez, Pakistan is full of the Taliban!!! You agree to send our troops to a no-win war??? Don't you get it? Afghanistan wasn't an "all we need to do is surge Country", it's too third world and a lot of our military was killed/maimed to "walk among the tribes". You want that? In a no-win, the Taliban are never going away war?
What's guaranteed? The Taliban aren't going away, they'll always run the game. Well, unless of course you want a forever occupation to beat them back.”

“Teachers don't. Professors can. The difference is that oil executives don't want to lose their ability to buy a sixtth house and a 2nd yacht. Professors don't want to lose their jobs because Romney guts all support for higher education, guaranteeing that only the childred of Plutocrats can afford college.
Oh, and as far as your little saying "I used to be a liberal, then I grew up." Well, I used to be a "born-again-fundamentalist-6,000 year old earth-gays are the end of humanity Christian", then I opened my eyes.”
“It's evil. It's fascist. And it's a perfect example of how the unholy marriage of the Rich and the Righteous in this country is producing a fertile breeding ground for trampling civil and human rights in the name of God, Gold, and (unchecked capitalistic) Glory.
Disclaimer: I am 33, white, male, straight, athiest (former born-again fundie Christian), and I work for a $26 billion/year corporation who treats their employees with dignity and respect. I have voted for both Republican and Democratic presidents in my life. I make good money. I pay my taxes proudly. I would pay more if required but don't want to (who does?). But Romney should pay as much tax as I do as a percentage of his income. He doesn't. That's fundamentally BIASED class-warfare. The rich eating the poor until there are no more poor. So let's force women to have more babies so they can have more poor to exploit.
That's all that's going on here: soulless, unrepentant greedy billionaires preying on the mentally weak, the fearful, the xenophobic, and those who are living 3 centuries in the past (that's a reference to modern science deniers).
Peace be unto you - even if you vote against your own interests.”
“Soulless businessmen are smart - they see this fear - and they capitalize on it. Not because they care about fearful-apocalpyse-now-Christians (because they don't). They do it so they can wrap social issues like abortion and human rights in with economic terrorism (trying to advocate that billionaires and multi-millionaires like the Koch brothers and Romney pay less than 1% income tax) under the same umbrella of Jesus and the American flag.
So here's the logic: I love Jesus. I love America. My old white male pastor tells me that real Christian Americans who love Jesus and America must treat women and homosexuals like 2nd class citizens (at best). THEREFORE, if I vote for a candidate who supports discrimination against women and/or homosexuals and/or minorities and/or environmental responsibility and also supports class warfare upon the "least among us", then I must be a good American Jesus-loving Christian by voting against my own financial interests.”
“I understand where you're coming from on this point (and I'm 100% on your side). But I think, based on my experience growing up in a northern Baptist church which had on it's sign "Fundamentalist Bible Baptist Church" as a badge of honor - that it's the Christians in this country who've been hijacked by the "rich man's" party.
Do you think, in your opinion, that the 1%ers like the Koch brothers and Romney, actually care about things like abortion and a woman's right to control her body for religious reasons? No, I don't think so. The rich control the righteous in this country because it financially benefits them do to so.
Why do you think abortion and contraception and trying to redefine rape all-the-sudden blew up on the conservative scene 6 months ago to a degree we haven't seen since Roe v. Wade? It's because the rich know that if more babies are born in this country, the more must be consumed to feed those babies, put them in diapers, etc. It doesn't matter the quality of the child's life (to them). It doesn't matter WHO takes care of the child (government or abusive parents). Doesn't matter to them. The only thing that matters is the economic consumption generated by one more mouth and one more rectum. So what's the logical, completely money-driven thing to do? Prevent women from choosing when to have children. More children equal more consumption equals more profit. It's as simple as that.”
“I love my iPhone 5. Had the 4 for two years. The difference in processing and graphics performance alone is enough to make me happy. But the camera, LTE, screen color quality are all amazing, IMO. I use the Maps App everyday in Chicago and the voice guidance hasn't failed. My phone wasn't scratched out of the box. And the loose part to which you refer is the camera lens which floats inside the assembly.”

“Credit rating downgrade=result of GOP obstructionism. That's a fact. 6 Trillion? Try 4ish. And nearly 60% of that increase is a DIRECT RESULT OF THE UNFUNDED WARS and MEDICARE PART D Act passed by G.W. Bush. So Bush's great budget involved passing the trillions of dollars that HE (Bush) spent on wars and 500 billion in the Medicare Part D. You don't even get to pretend to blame that part of the debt on Obama. You can't and I won't allow it because it is fundamentally untrue.
The rest is lost tax revenue from millions of people losing their jobs which happened as a result of GOP trickle-down insane economic policies which guarantee ONLY the rights and benefits of the rich. From 2000-2008, real wages were almost completely stagnant, meaning the money the average working American was taking each year didn't grow. So where did all the income growth occur in the term of G.W.? Why? Because the Bush taxes cuts PRIMARILY benefitted the highest earners in America. That's called redistribution of wealth. GOP screams about wealth redistribution unless it's the ultra rich who are benefitting. I can't believe anyone would vote against their own interests such to the extent that Fox News Americans have been duped into accepting. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.”

“Do you take advantage of the Child Tax Credit? Or the education tax credit? Or the tax credit for a janitor working a part time, crappy job at school making $20K a year? Do you have elderly parents, grandparents, or relatives living on a fixed Social Security income? What do all of these people have in common? They're the 47% of America who Romney just wrote off in that speech. The VERY TAX POLICIES THAT THE GOP HELPED CREATE are now the avenue by which they demonize the poor, the hardworking, the elderly, and lower income parents. The only grasping here is your lack thereof to understand that the uber wealthy have no idea what's it's like to struggle and work for a living. Shame on you.”
“The people in this country who don't pay income tax (because of things like CHILD CARE DEDUCTIONS and INTEREST DEDUCTIONS - you know, the tax breaks so-fondly championed by conservatives and progressives) still pay Social Security taxes, Medicaire taxes, capital gains taxes, etc. The whole "49% of people don't pay income tax" is just ANOTHER EXAMPLE of the arrogance and hypocrisy that the GOP support until it becomes convenient for them to turn on the very people the pretend to help and blame the ANYONE AND EVERYONE ELSE BUT THEMSELVES. Unemployment is DOWN since Obama took office. The DOW Jones just closed HIGHER THAN IT EVER HAS (Obama must be a pretty crappy socialist for that to happen) and for the first time in decades there's at least some (but not enough) oversight on the financial industries that the GOP help to shove the USA off a cliff into recession. You know, Paul Ryan said it right when he said "smart people will never vote for conservatives." He was talking about you. Not smart. Voting for conservatives.”
“You mean, forget the last "x" number of years, like everyone who voted for the GOP did in 2008, forgetting 8 years of a jack wagon presidency with Darth Vader as next in line? Ruining our economy for the benefit of the 1%, selling jobs and technology the cheapest bidder? Starting a proxy war for oil in a country that had nothing to do with 9/11? Passing 500 billion dollars in unfunded Medicaire expansion to be paid by the next administration? C'mon man - at least pretend to have critical thinking skills. Seriously.”
“The only one distorting reality here is Y-O-U. Did you counter the CBO report facts? No. Did you counter Soledad's fact-based argument? No. Did you resort to name-calling, hyperbole, and general loud-mouthed yelling because you, like most GOPers, can't accept that your party has long been sold out to the 1%ers who are working most diligently to take away your rights, your income, and your freedom, and then somehow convince you that it's the left causing these problems? Yes.”
“So, a Justice Dept. investigation into state-sponsored, willful discrimination based on race and a culture of 1st ammendment rights violations is just, somehow, a political move? This is exactly why the GOP has lost favor will the sane, the humane, the reasoned, the educated, the poor, the female, the blue collar, and THE REST OF THE PLANET.
Your move, jack wagon.”
