I flew from Chicago to Washington state for my grandfather's funeral in 2007. While I was out there I saw a Zippo that I just HAD to get. I'd already paid for it, and then remembered the rules against lighters. So I had the clerk leave all the stickers on it, so it'd be OBVIOUS that it hadn't ever been used.... They almost told me to throw it away, but let me check it at the last minute when I pointed out that I'm a veteran....”

But either way, profiling based on RACE will not work. Profile based on BEHAVIOR! It's MUCH more effective, costs less money, and you tend not to have 6 year olds assumed to be terrorists when they are travelling with their parents to go see grandma!”
