“Why Do We Care About Tiger Woods? I know I sure as heck don't!”

“Thanks, LegalMomma - my point exactly.”
Summer Beauty Fixes We've Been Relying on Since June

“Fascinating but not a single product that I use, much less 'can't live without' although at least I have the sense to regret my lack of sunscreen use.”
Adult Orthodontia: A Whole-Hearted Endorsement (SLIDESHOW)
Commented May 16, 2009 at 20:08:58 in Style
“It wasn't until I was adult and finally got insurance which would cover part of the cost of braces for myself (rather than my nonexistent children), that I got braces to correct a bad bite. It was painful and expensive but worth it for the long term advantages. I find myself looking at professional people with bad crooked teeth and wondering why they don't do something about it. It's no fun to go through but in some cases would definitely help people (who can obviously afford it) be taken more seriously in the business world.”

“I thinks this was a very educational and impressive article. Thank you for adding to a fascinating subject. I'm sure Michelle's not perfect but I'm all for celebrating her numerous positive attributes and the totally fresh breath of clean air she brings to the country!”

Ellen Degeneres Is Married. And I Don't Care.

“Amen. And I'm an atheist. It helps me to remember how special love is and how marriage should be cherished. Don't see it makes any difference what sex the people happen to be. Let's marry for the 'right' reason and not worry about the 'right' people. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just stop worrying about that.”

Warren Jeffs' FLDS Church and What I Left Behind
Commented May 17, 2008 at 16:46:07 in Living
“On NPR I heard a teacher in Texas who was working with the state to prepare schooling for the FLDS children in state custody. She said the classrooms could not have any books in them because the FLDS children were not familiar with books and were actually frightened of books. If that is correct, how could they possibly be well-educated? Education opens too many doors -- I can't believe Jeffs would allow it for any purpose except indoctrination.”

“You should read "Escape" by Carolyn Jessop. The education system was not always as you describe. Jessop managed to stay at the pace of the state-run education system and graduated from college with a degree in education while still in the FLDs and having children. I also meant my statement as a credit to Ms. Walls who is obviously an educated individual.”
Plastic Bag Plague: Five Easy Ways To Remember Your Reusable
Commented Feb 01, 2008 at 00:25:16 in Living
“I've been using cloth bags for years and have built up quite a collection. For a long time store clerks looked at me like I was crazy but it's finally beginning to catch on even in places where plastic bags have not been outlawed yet. Quite a few charities, particularly environmental ones, will send you a canvas bag with their name on it when you give them a donation. The cotton knotted ones are great because they expand to a huge size (as long as the weight isn't too great.)”
