“She cost Alaskans a ton of money by charging them per diem to stay in her own home.

She bought favor with Alaskans by applying pure socialism - paying them checks out of state money.

At least get your facts straight. And she didn't have an 85% approval rating when she quit.

She racked up a whole bunch of investigations in case you forgot.”

“-She cost Alaskans a ton of money by charging them per diem to stay in her own home. -
False. it was miniscule compared to staying in the mansion.

-She bought favor with Alaskans by applying pure socialism - paying them checks out of state money.-

False. This was not State money nor socialism. And neither were the rebates state money. It's obvious you don't know the emaning of rebate.

-She racked up a whole bunch of investigations in case you forgot-

OH, and how many of them were thrown out or found in her favor? Do you even know the facts? NOT. All but 1 case was either thrown out or found in her favor.

She did have an 85% approval rating though. You can pretend you know everything about Palin, but you don't.”

“Are all Republican women in national politics dunces?”

Malsperanza replied on Nov 28, 2009 at 02:03:30

“Yep, it's a self-selecting process, because any woman with a functioning brain who takes her career seriously is gonna want equal pay, health insurance at the same rates as men, control over her own body, good education for her kids, and decent care for her elderly parents--in other words, she is not gonna be a Republican. That leaves the bimbettes whose skill set consists of knowing how to wear a short skirt with stiletto heels while mouthing really vicious, violent opinions, because dude, that's hawt. Palin, Malkin, Coulter, Schlaes... it's just another form of pornography.”

"But now -- obviously anticipating that the Government is likely to lose in court again -- Obama wants Congress to change FOIA by retroactively narrowing its disclosure requirements, prevent a legal ruling by the courts, and vest himself with brand new secrecy powers under the law which, just as a factual matter, not even George Bush sought for himself.

The White House is actively supporting a bill jointly sponsored by Sens. Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman...

...Imagine if a foreign government were accused of systematically torturing and otherwise brutally abusing detainees in its custody for years, and there was ample photographic evidence proving the extent and brutality of the abuse. Further imagine that the country's judiciary -- applying decades-old transparency laws -- ruled that the government was legally required to make that evidence public. But in response, that country's President demanded that those transparency laws be retroactively changed for no reason other than to explicitly empower him to keep the photographic evidence suppressed, and a compliant Congress then immediately passed a new law empowering the President to suppress that evidence. What kind of a country passes a law that has no purpose other than to empower its leader to suppress evidence of the torture it inflicted on people? Read the language of the bill; it doesn't even hide the fact that its only objective is to empower the President to conceal evidence of war crimes."”

fifteen. million.

Katie Couric's annual salary for doing her job well.

I'm not sure that knowing stuff about Alaska is a qualification, probably not, although she probably knows more than Sarah, but evidently she is more qualified to do her job than Sarah is to hold any elected office. Oh, and Katie never quit, even when her husband died and she was left with two young children. Sarah is not fit to polish her high heeled shoes.”

“Why didn't any tests detect brain activity? Something is not making any sense here.”

neurogrl replied on Nov 23, 2009 at 14:27:16

“Defining the level of coma a person is in is very difficult because there is brain activity in every level except brain death. How this brain activity corresponds to a person's level of consciousness is not too easy to ascertain and was probably confounded in this case by whatever level of paralysis this person had.”

Jo replied on Nov 23, 2009 at 14:14:46

“The man was in a coma, not brain dead. A coma is similar to a deep sleep but the patient does not respond to stimuli. Although his brain activity is impaired, it is not totally absent. A coma patient has some neurological activity, though the amount is variable. If brain dead, there would be no neurological activity at all.”

“Single payer is the cheapest solution of all.

The U.S. is #1 in cost per capita. This is not working at all. Tweaking a bad system will fail.”

graymatters replied on Nov 21, 2009 at 11:20:22

“The reason its cost is high is that government passed a bill thirty years ago limiting competition and the number of insurance companies in this country. Remember how expensive cell phones were 15 yrs. ago? Competition brought the price down not the government.

A better analogy is the MRI. 15 years ago it was some inane expensive machine that was ONLY used for the most sick people, and now its as cheap as getting a physical.”

SassySafrine replied on Nov 21, 2009 at 11:20:09

“My Dillons grocery store had a stack of them on a table in front of the front door that you practically had to climb over to get into the store. I wrote the chain to let them know it's the last straw for me - why is a grocery store playing politics or putting books in my way at rush hour on a week night when I am trying to feed my family - but it occurs to me, they are probably stuck with a truckload of them.

I think everything pre-bought this book thinking it was something other than it was. Now that it is clear it is only vincitive swipes and lies it's not that interesting to them. Then of course there are the thousands bought in bulk by Republican operatives to push it onto the seller lists. I hope the book goes to 99 cents because at that point it is a gag Christmas gift. Hahahahaha. Fireplace kindling.”
