Memo to Warren Buffett: Put Down the Pom-Poms and Tell Us the Truth About the Economy

Commented Nov 16, 2009 at 23:52:03 in Business

“When the totals are in for the holiday sales we will know if we are doing better. Many of our consumers are unemployed and using credit to foot the bills. The raises for health insurance policies are in the mail. We need the health option plans and a longer period to shop around.”

Why Joe Biden Should Resign

Commented Oct 15, 2009 at 00:15:40 in World

“When Vice President Biden spoke out about the possibility of the serious flu epidemic he was made spoof of as a buffoon. He was proved correct . I have followed is career for twenty years and have found him to be very serious about the future of America. I trust him more than 99 % of Congress and the military. President Obama sent him to the middle east because he wanted the facts pure and simple.
And thats the way it is. ( thanks W.C. )”

Democracy in the Mirror of Afghanistan

Commented Aug 25, 2009 at 12:30:10 in Home

“If the people of Afghanistan are reading about our democratic tea parties and ' 'mob rule " at town hall meetings do you think they are impressed.. We are supposed to set an example of the good life we are planning for them Instead we push the lies that we are planning the deaths of the elderly and Obama is really Hitler come back to life. Bring some of their tribal leaders here and really let them see the USA and they will go back and fight like hell to be like us and overthrow the Taliban .”

Afghans should be impressed. This is the manifestation of democratic process in a country which can easily withstand various forms of dissent without collapsing into a fratricidal mess. Think about it.”

“Mob rule has become a popular tool of the Republican party. Even the Joseph Goebels ranting with lies over and over again and Senators talking about a health plan that will do away with the elderly
have made us seem like a third world republic emerging. We need a free press but we also need freedom from the swift-boaters running wild with the media not caring but so anxious to spread the news just to spread the news.”

Cheney Meant Well

Commented Jul 13, 2009 at 21:07:11 in Politics

“The last paragraph ( Update ) said it all. Cheney should be required to write it on the blackboard 200 times.
And then the trial should start. The worlds biggest war profiteer should spend his years in prison in a
cell next to Bernie Maddoff. Cheney's auto bio should be " How I Conned America for Thirty Years " and Maddoff"s auto bio " Bernies " Bible for Brokers and Traders ". They deserve each other..”

“We didn't actually get to the part where Halliburton/KBR ripped off the American taxpayer for BILLIONS!!! All the while, Cheney had a hefty income from Halliburton, even as he sat in his VP office!

And while looking up other stuff, I found that the VP reported $7.4 million in 2005 on his income tax forms. Now, I know good and well that he didn't make that kind of money as VPOTUS! Who was paying Mr. Cheney over $7 million and for what???

War profiteering is still a crime, isn't it?

Palin Hit With Another Ethics Complaint

Palin Hit With Another Ethics Complaint

Commented Jul 07, 2009 at 12:42:38 in Politics

“Sarah Palin was elected by the voters to run the state as Governor. She, by quitting has broken her pledge to serve Akaska and to help the state to progress. She may have not done everything to perfection but does any chief executive ? She took time off to run with McCain in a losing cause but she gained celebrity and that was her Waterloo. She cannot handle negativity. If every President or Governor quit before completing their term we should cancel their pensions and security protection.
Sarah Palin has read the writing on the wall. Her past is catching up to her and no matter that she quits the charges pending and those that will arise will not do her political career any good. If she stayed and fought for her reputation she would have gained some respect. But the old adage says
" winners never quit and quitters never win " .”

1smartcanerican replied on Jul 07, 2009 at 13:08:17

“You raise an excellent question - since Palin quit before fulfilling her pledge to work as governor for four years, does she lose her pension and health benefits that are part and parcel of this job? From my perspective, quitting should mean losing the benefits since the contract was not fulfilled, but what is the law on this?”

The Importance of Being Michael

Commented Jul 07, 2009 at 09:26:47 in Media

“Michael Jackson was a great talent. I did not always understood the lyrics but the dancing and productions were first class. His personal life style was something else. The fact that he did not comment on my lifestyle I never voiced opinions on his. The tremendous turnout for him was the appreciation of
millions who saw him as an entertainer and a comrade against society. His time has run its course
and this is the final curtain. His detractors can now stop bitching about him and let history be his resting place. So long Michael. When you were good you were very good. Rest in peace.”

“Women fought for the right to vote. They are still fighting to break through the glass ceiling. They are not second class citizens and men do not have the right to subject them to their whims or passions. Pro choice is exactly what it says. Choice. The same as what you do when you go into that booth and draw the curtain. When are women going to put their foot down and demand that men stay out of their minds and bodies unless they are welcomed in. The Salem Witch trials are still with us. Like Leonce says,. If they grow up to be Nazis or serial killers is that what God wanted. Does anyone think God cares more about a birth then he does about the millions dying every year in Africa or Asia from the lack of food, water and medical aid.”

“Hey, Barack didn't start the fire. He is only trying to put it out. Whatever he does will be an improvement and although I am not very happy with some of the things he has tried to do and is not trying to do it is better than what was there when he came in. I will give him 5 more months to get things hopping and then we will see if Big Business helped him. Remember, BB left most of our consumers off their payrolls for a long time and who else was going to buy their products. Many mergers, costing many jobs and OPEC putting all businesses in the hole. The Republicans can tell us whos responsible but never have solutions.”

“You can give them a pass on " torture ". When you think of the nationwide reaction to 9/11 everybody in America and many millions more throughout the world had nothing but contempt for the terrorist
and their supporters. But when you take into account the devious actions of Bush and Cheney and their administration and the Republicans that aided their agenda then you cannot give them a pass on all the actions that may be criminal. We need, and I implore this Congress to pursue a complete examination of the past eight years and if there is proof let the chips fall where they may. A non-partisan commission should be given the time and cooperation by this administration without the President and his people be involved. Let Obama carry on without the past bogging him down.”

Eris23Skidoo replied on May 29, 2009 at 17:17:13

“Screw non-partisan commission. If a Ken Starr could dog Bill Clinton for his entire presidency, we can certainly find a special prosecutor to go after Cheney. I leave Bush out of this because I don't think he was in the loop until after the fact. He wasn't a neo-con, so they didn't tell him about 9/11 in advance either. John Ashcroft stopped using commercial air in June of 2001. He wasn't a neo-con either, but someone on his staff had to have warned him not to fly. Many in the govt knew in advance that something big was going down. We need to reopen the books on 9/11 and torture. They're linked. Cheney didn't JUST need to "prove" a link b/t Osama & Saddam, he also needed to force some confessions of Al-Queda members so they could "prove" to America that they had the right bad guy. 9/11 is the only terrorist attack in which the terrorists didn't immediately claim responsibility and make demands.”

KurierRadek replied on May 29, 2009 at 13:29:24

“"Let Obama carry on without the past bogging him down." Isn't this exactly what Obama is attempting to do? His past is riddled with questionable associations, marxists mentors, broken family, identity crisis, abandonment, leftist ideals, etc. He's a liar, cheat and complete narcissist. As far as seeking criminal prosecutions of former administrations...be careful what you ask for. The current administration as well as Congress would be susceptible if this should occur. You can't pin blame on a single adminstration or political party.”

Malls are more like train stations, They only get busy on holidays. Republicans are so angry at losing and being left out because of their spite and desire for Obama to fail that they are not only hurting themselves but are dragging their followers down. Those Governors that refuse the stimulus aid
are not helping their state where it can do much good. As for the 80 million Obama wanted for to be available if he moved the prisoners is not as bad as he 80 billion these same complainers gave George Bush and Dick Cheney for iraq without oversight and accountability. The first thing you can do is insist that a Independent Council is created to investigate all the charges that have been advanced for the past eight years in regard to the Bush/Cheney administration. The Council will relieve the Obama administration of any interruption of their legislation planning and not be involved in any fault finding or suggestive prosecution. Let the chips fall where they may and maybe your investigative team will be a part of it. We cannot let the Bush/Cheney administration and all involved just fade away.
