The New Scarlet Letter -- A is for Abortion
Commented Nov 11, 2009 at 11:59:45 in Politics
“"And what is the stigma attached to someone who does decide they want the coverage? Are you in Plan A (for abortion) or not?"
Under what circumstances would that come up in conversation?
Bob: Hey Sally, did you get the abortion rider on the company health insurance?
Sally: That's none of your business, Bob. Now get out of my office or I'll report you to HR for creating a hostile work environment.
I don't really see that conversation happening. ..”

“I knew Meleanie Hain for over 5 years. She had no illusions about guns guaranteeing her personal safety and if she could talk right now, she would say the same thing. All she did was educate herself in how to accurately use a weapon to POSSIBLY have an edge in defending herself in certain circumstances that she knew she might not otherwise be able to handle. BTW, her husband was extremely well trained in self defense/di sabling/ki lling people in more ways than just a gun. Did you know he was previously in the National Guard? He was not only a prison guard but worked part time in booking department for the locals there and finally became a parole officer. At one point he was working almost round the clock pulling double shifts at the prison as well as part time in the local jail- for days on end. He was a ticking time bomb and no one at his workplace could or wanted to see it. He could have just of easily killed her with his bare hands or anything else, including his car. She never had a chance because he shot her from behind and she never saw it coming. Stop blaming their guns (btw, I don't own one) for what is really a domestic abuse problem and an uncontrolled rage issue.”

Gunmaker Gaston Glock: Shell Companies, Nazis, and Murder
Commented Sep 17, 2009 at 07:33:59 in Business
“I might be old-school, but I prefer a steel framed handgun to the polymer Glocks.
I'll be using my Tokarev in a couple of weeks for the handgun proficiency demonstration part of renewing my concealed handgun license.
The Tok is a very functional weapon - based on the 1911 design with really cheap ammo available so you can get plenty of practice time in - just be sure to clean the barrel well afterward because some of that Eastern Bloc ammo is corrosive. Nothing some hot soapy water won't take care of.
Still pretty cheap, too. Around $300 or so.”

“I dislike the Glocks for several reasons including the square slide profile, the susceptability to limp wristing, the lack of a decock function, the trigger shoe gimmick (I refuse to call that darn gizmo a safety), the ability to fire out of battery, and the problems with case head support leading to KaBOOM! failures.”

There was a hot memorial a few days ago which cost LOS ANGELES A FEW MILLION WHICH is a little sad inasmuch as they had to cancel SUMMER SCHOOL due to budgetary constraints. EVERYONE NOW IS HOPING THE DRUG COMPANIES will pay for the MEMORIAL inasmuch as MICHAEL was essential to their profits the last few years. Well that should update on what has been going on ......most Americans of normal intelligence consider the memorial the greatest Lie foisted on the public since NIXON SAID HE WAS NOT A CROOK.”
