“Yeah well, don't forget the Republicans role in this - pre-Obama...
The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (Division A of Pub.L. 110-343, enacted October 3, 2008), commonly referred to as a bailout of the U.S. financial system. Both foreign and domestic banks are included in the program. The Federal Reserve also extended help to American Express, whose bank-holding application it recently approved.[3] The Act was proposed by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson during the global financial crisis of 2008.
There was concern that the current plan created a conflict of interest for Paulson. Paulson was a former CEO of Goldman Sachs, which stood to benefit from the bailout. Paulson has hired Goldman executives as advisors and Paulson’s former advisors have joined banks that were also to benefit from the bailout.”

“Kudos to Mr Moore! The GOP ALWAYS needs an enemy to wrap their party's agenda around. It's disgusting how they prey upon vulnerable or disadvantaged people to advance their party and make themselves feel so much more superior. Limbaugh is nothing more than an old washed up shock jock. He and his fiefdom are completely out of touch with the average American, who by the way, pay for our politician's salaries and healthcare, because they supposedly are to be working for US - not the other way around!”

“Yes, I would like to see pay cuts and health care costs cut for our state government workers as well. If the average American is asked to give up our health care, wages etc, then why should they be protected?”
NCRedhead replied on Feb 20, 2009 at 01:18:16
“They aren't protected...why would you think they are? What state do you live in where this is not happening? My husband was laid off months ago from a state job due to the budget and the ones that are left in his department are working themselves to death for less money. The health plan will be whacked soon and the pension plan is in the hole. In local government, we are all working 60 hours a week because our workload is increasing due to more people needing services. Now, who else can we wish ill will to???”
steve52 replied on Feb 19, 2009 at 22:41:51

“I used to work for state government and let me tell you it is no picnic, like you assume. The pay is miserable (usually a full 15% or more below average compared to the same positions in the private sector). I had to pay almost $400 a month for my family's healthcare benefits. That is no break by any means. As for the pension, it is a mere pittance and the least they can do since the pay is substandard and the benefits are way too expensive.
And for those reasons (it is enough) I no longer work for government.”

“Remember this part of McCain's concession speech:
"Senator Obama and I have had and argued our differences, and he has prevailed. No doubt many of those differences remain. These are difficult times for our country, and I pledge to him tonight to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face.
I urge all Americans -- (applause) -- I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together, to find the necessary compromises, to bridge our differences, and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited.
Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that."”

I only caught the tail end of it, but apparently he was trying to blame this economic crisis on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for crying out loud! Maybe they had their hand in it but then he went on to say that then, the new Illinois senator, Obama was the one who voted against regulating these entities. I just can't believe these Republicans!”

CNBS had a great program explaining that . and even former Sec. Alan Greenspan concurs. Many do not want to acknowledge this - since it goes against their ' bias ' and belief system. But it is true. “It is proven already that many people whom bought homes were given loans by officers who wanted not to. There supervisor forced them to or they would of been driven out.
The board made these decisons of the banks STUPID BLIND lending practice.
Almost every i know new that there was going to be a massive housing crash and it is no surprise to any of you.
People buying homes for NO money and flipping them, banks and wallstreet packaging these frauds and passing this garbage to other investers.
Fanny and Freddie taking in loans that they new were bad to beging with
Any banker who was smart and careful would of been tossed out because of the boards greed to keep lending money on loans that were garbage. The stree was unreal.
Those who can make payments but not in the amount they are paying now should be delt with more then fairly because forclosure is the worse solution for these people who have good intentions and are willing to pay a fair amount.
Those who can never afford and should of not purchased will be hurt and i truly feel sorry for them because many of them were lied to by banks because they made ok for the first 2 years and then boom there payments went up double or triple.”

“We need to keep our American families in their homes! No one benefits from having families thrown into the street. There are a lot of people out there who are doing the best they can and may not have been real savvy when they sat down with their real estate agent and mortgage lenders, who will stop at nothing to push and get that sale. For the past several years we have had credit card and home refinancing commercials jammed down our throats - almost to the point of brainwashing our minds. "Borrow! Borrow! Borrow! Debt is good for you!" Predatory loan sharks and deregulation of commercial loans from greedy Wall Street are the real culprits.”

“Wow! Was Faux News and anchor person Megyn conducting an interrogation? I found her to be entirely rude and obnoxious. Notice every time Mr. Burton spoke about something she didn't want to hear, she started to speak over him to try and drown him out, like a child holding her ears in the middle of a temper tantrum. She comes across as being more desperate than McCain's whole campaign. I never watch Faux News because it is so biased. They want to live in their pretend world. I too will catch the BBC for an occasional view from outside the "box".”

“Thank you Mr. Matzzie! I was hoping for some sound information on this topic. I never heard of ACORN before, but came across this info while thumbing through the tv channels the other night. I stumbled upon the Lou Dobbs show on CNN. I have never watched this show before, but apparently the new Republican smear campaign was about ACORN and fraudulent voter registration and how it is linked to the "extreme and radical left" and Obama. They were doing a pole on his website, www.loudobbs.com, scroll way down and on the right it asks, "Are you concerned that radical left-wing activist groups are trying to manipulate the outcome of this presidential election? How outrageous!”
