“Haha, no. It is just multiethnic hair (isn't their bio dad Jewish?)...my daughter's hair is that exact color.
My daughter has a quarter African American ancestry, a quarter Jewish ancestry, half European ancestry.
It just happens. :)
Despite his own efforts to alter himself, his kids look like pretty natural, hipsterish kids to me!”

“I know a lot of adoptive families. It is not unusual for the kids to ultimately look like an adoptive parent who they are NOT biologically related to. Nurture is a strong force. :)”

“But that's Quincy Jones' POV, though, colored by his outlook. It seemed to me Michael just had an issue with being categorized, period - affected by his family relationships and other influences. He seemed to have a similar issue with his gender.
& BTW: There is yet to be a time in which any person of color does not experience racial constrictions and pressures.
Don't get me wrong...I think Michael's outlook was sometimes naive and his approach twisted and colored by trauma & self-loathing...but his lifestyle had elements of that idealistic brilliance that unfortunately went better off in song.
P.S. I didn't mean to imply Michael was biologically connected to the kids - just that they have a race-free aspect that reminds me of mine.
Peace. :)”

“They could easily be multiracial. Prince Michael & Paris look SO MUCH like my daughter and nephew, coloringwise. Most people assume our kids are white, but they are a part black, through myself and my sister, who are half black, and respect that part of their heritage, as well as the others.
It's just the future...no big deal. I think Michael was not trying not to be black per se...but trying to free himself and his family of racial constrictions. As a multiracial person with a diverse family...I get it, even if with Michael Jackson it might have been a little forced and misguided, I think his intentions made some kind of sense. Sad it got so garbled and weird with everything.
Anyway. They are adorable and seem like sweet kids...hope they continue to be protected as they seemto have been up until now.”

“Michael grew up in a time when there were no racial constrictions. Like his good friend Quincy Jones said, Michael hated being black. He was into self loathing, and that's the reason for the self mutilation. Whether the kids are biologically his are immaterial. He raised them. He was his father.”

“A real band can't be marketed like a fake entity, a la Hannah Montana. And their albums outsell the non-fabrication version Miley Cyrus' albums, last I checked.
Nick is surely not "the only one with talent" - he's the prodigy, but there would have been no success without the other two brothers. Nick is the least charismatic.”

“So their hysteria is simmering down. So what? That's Disney's fault, really, for overmarketing and trying to turn the band into multiplatform robots that they are incapable of being because their charisma is uncalculated. (Their TV show is also better than most Disney.)
They'd be lucky if Disney dropped them so they can go be like any other band out there - most of which never get to enjoy a period of hysteria before being able to perform as a normal, less explosive band - the way most bands spend their entire existence. They're still fortunate. (Hey, Hanson still make a living from performing, even if they now do it in relative obscurity.) But I wouldn't count on Disney dropping them...since despite the image destruction provided by their Disney affiliation, the Jonases still outsell most other artists these days. They've sold 1 million tickets for the first half of their 2009 world tour...I think they'll be fine.
But they do deserve more respect for being as talented and hardworking as they are. And they'd be lucky to have a break...they've been touring since they were 12, 15 and 17. (4 years)”

“Well, whatever. I've liked the Jonases since I first heard them in 2006, and I still do. They are great live (concert live, not TV show performance live - those are only great when the artists lipsync - truly - ie. Phoenix on SNL), I've seen them play acoustic, improvise - they are musicians. I tend to think their inability to reach Hannah Montana sales heights is their LACK of plasticness - because the pop music world is harder on guys in the mass market these days (unlike the good old 80s) and the fact that they are simply better than the stuff that sits on the top of the charts. Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, Taylor Swift? I'd rather flunk out of the Top 40 with the rest of the best musicians going - so why do we mock them for proving that's the way things go?
I'm not sure what people's issue is with the Jonas Brothers. They ARE talented; they make somewhat shameless, throwbacky, sincere pop music but they do it well, and it's natural. It also happens to be easy to take advantage of from a Disney's marketer's perspective. Their music is pretty clean, easy-to-consume for kids and families but that doesn't make it generic. They are unique compared to what else has been offered kids since the 70s, really. They are nothing sonically like R&B, syncro-dancing boybands, I think, to their credit.”

“Um, okay. My issue with the Jonas Brothers is their music. It does not impress me and I don't know why girls go crazy for music that isn't even good at all. Compared to the music from the 70s-90s, the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus' music are nothing. Even the Hansons were good back then.
Man, I miss the glory days of Backstreet Boys. They sure knew how to make great music and provide one hell of a concert experience.”

But the rest of it? Painful. I really wanted to like it. But something was missing. Way too much resorting to cheap sex humor. Tired boomer-pandering which also relied on cheap jokes about humping people. Sorry, lame-brained stuff all around.”

“A little bitter are we?
I found them funny and charming. Their sketches were aimed towards being acceptable for their audiences, but they were good. Newsflash: you thought they fell flat because you irrationally hate these guys based on false preconceived notions.
And they are most definitely a real band. Those "real musicians in back" are members of their band...they are all around the same age (mid-20s and younger) and they have been part of the band since 2005. The music those boys WRITE requires that number of instruments to achieve the sound, and they can't play multiple instruments they would play in the studio at once, on stage. This is nothing new, and it doesn't constitute fakery. They managed the weak SNL soundstage well by toning it down a little, they sounded good. Sorry if you don't want to admit it. It's mostly young guys who consistently feel this way, I've noticed, so it must be a rational opinion then, right? LOL. Right.”
