“So when Lady Gaga does it, it's art, but when an actually attractive woman does it, you suddenly see the ridiculousness of it?”
Puzzlr on May 17, 2012 at 11:39:42
“You can't compare the two. There is a little more thought going into a Gaga design. This was a calculated move to show her body, thereby getting people to talk about her, which will lead to more work. Gaga does the calculated to 'shock' people into thinking she's avant guarde.”
“Not so. Especially when we're talking about public figures.
In 2002 it was eagerly announced by authorities that Paul Reubens' (Pee Wee) house was searched and that he was in possession of child pornography tapes when in fact it was Rob Lowe's s*x tape with a 16 and a 22 year old. Morally objectionable? Perhaps. But not child pornography.”

“when media /cops choose to distort things thats a different issue---i have seen many instances where a 16 or 17 yr old girl having sex with a 23 yr old and she is NOT called a child --but she is referred to as "under age"”
“Yeah, I recently started using Aveda for my hair needs. They have a hair salon here in Manhattan.
If you're comfortable with their price range, I also suggest Dermalogica for skin products. I've been using them for several years. I wanted to change it up and try Kiehl's, but due to this discovery, seems I'll be sticking to Dermalogica for the time being.”
“Horrible. People blame corporate greed, but if corn subsidies by the feds have stopped, so would corporate hunger for farming far more corn than we need...”

“Exactly. And the myth that is perpetuated of aiding the farmer with an image of the small hard working American Gothic meme, when in reality, the money goes to millionaire land baron corporate farms. Disgusting.”
In two years, when I turn 30 I'll be glad that I'm not even close to being the boring, cheesy and immature 30 year old that this article aims for.”

“Haha. True dat. The alternative working title of this list was "30 things women should know if they want to star in Sex and the City." After all, Sex and the City is where even after you cheat on your fiance, spend half your life chasing shoes, and the other half of your life boozing... you still get to be the protagonist!
Now don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with Sex and the City as a show- it was well-made. But people who live that lifestyle in real life are generally miserable by their own actions. But who cares if they're self-centered and miserable, don't you know they have a great umbrella?!”
“Ew. Your attitude is atrocious and that's why you're getting bad tips.”

“I was a waiter during my college years only, and exceptional one at that, thank you very much!! Rude customers DO exist, you know! It's not always the waiter's fault! Stop villifying people who work hard for a living!!”
“Yes. And yes. Prostitution is never going to end. It's as simple as supply and demand.”

“The Bible is the final authority in all matters of morality and everything else that happen in this world, especially us human beings.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23.
This is always God's standard and will never change, why: because God created us and knows what is best for us. Our only hope is in the Saving Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins and rose again to give us victory over sin, temptation, the flesh, death, hell and the devil.”

“I think at this point the media needs to leave this case alone. We (i.e public) and the media played our part and got the case investigated and Zimmerman arrested. Now the justice system needs to play it's part.”
I don't use it, but even I understand that the 1B price tag was for the network of users and the accumulated data of photographs with location attached to them, and so much more. It's not the filters...”
“And by the way, technically speaking, putting money under a mattress (i.e letting it accumulate in a checking account) is also not a good option because of inflation. Paper cash will always loose value over time. You might as well buy gold and invest in a good safe, but commodities is a whole other headache!
Bottom line, in a "dog eat dog" country like the U.S, one absolutely must get themselves educated on personal finances issues and investing.”
“If your employer doesn't contribute than I agree, no reason to have one. I still think opening a trading account and investing in conservative stocks is better than a savings account. With a 0.01% interest rate, it's like giving your bank money for free! Your money needs to work for you, not for the bank.”

“Unfortunately, with the 401(k), there is no moving the money until I leave the company. It's stuck here. I can't move it into my own IRA account to do something with it that would perform better. CDs are pretty much worthless. I don't trust the bond market, let alone the stock market these days. And I"m not savvy enough to even consider commodities.
Bottom line. I"d rather have a pension fund, where I can put a percentage into an account that isn't influenced by the markets, set it and forget it.”
“It has to be cultural, because by working in the field myself, I have to say, most of the workers in the field aren't that smart. Just uninspired "code pushers", like in any other field. No reason women can't do it too...”
