McCain Emerges As Front Man In GOP Efforts To Claim Reform Mantle
Commented Dec 23, 2009 at 16:51:25 in Politics
“John McCain gets the 2009 Leadership in Douchebaggery Award for illustrating a unique, relentless and unprecendented level of personal pollitical ambition bereft of any coherent ideology other than to perpetuate the illusuion of his own self importance while serving as the last remaining baracade to progress in America. In the end, the citizens of Arizona and this country might be better served if he stepped aside and allowed his more creative and intelligent daughter to take hold of his seat while the power corrupt McCain retired to an old age home in Sedona.”

Bethenny Frankel Is Pregnant! Real Housewife 2 Months Along
Commented Oct 20, 2009 at 16:56:54 in Entertainment
“I SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE: Now that Bethenny Frankel Is Pregnant, She Should Finally Be Able to Marry Liberace's Little Brother. Reality TV Shows initially started during the Screen/Actors Guild Strike when the Entertainment Industry looked for "replacement players" to fill up the airwaves, control costs and deliver some product for which their advertisers might still advertise. Many of these reality players have translated their talent or following into lucrative contracts. Lucrative contracts are given to those who are "proven commoditie s"----thos e who have a loyal following of viewers, which appeals to advertisers. So even while we witness one crackhead perpetually going down the tubes in the form of Lindsay Lohan, "reality crackheads" seem a tad more disciplined about maintaining their fame for $$$$$. "Reality" Stars have an incentive to manufacture lives to help develop their "characters" story lines for TV. Ms. Frankel is a marketing genius for turning her 15 Minutes of Fame into something more, crackhead or not she has become a veritable "media personality" who is able to shill Skinny Girl Cocktails, pull a "husband" out of thin air for a plot line. I look forward to the ultimate demise of The Real Housewives Brand, X years from now when consumers will be subjected to Betheny Frankel's tell all about "The Reality Years: How I Got Famous, Rich & Even Married a Gay Man & Had his Baby to Keep it all Going"”
Obama Nobel Peace Prize Reaction

“The Republican Party or at least what remains of it is in crisis mode, fighting to hold on to some type of brand identification, which has sadly morphed into contesting anything that a non Republican President does, in order to impede his success. The fear is that if Obama succeeds and continues to be embraced by the world as a transformational leaders, it will only extend their time in the Wilderness and further undermine their credibility. What needs to be recognized by all, is that Obama is one of the most popular people in the world right now, more popular than the sitting leaders in many countries. When America and its leaders are beloved that is only good for America and American business. Republicans are so hell bent on destroying Obama that they do not want the American people to recognize this as a positive development. Only in America can a morally banrkupt party condemn a foreign entity for loving America's leader. If it was not clear already, it is time to ask: Who's side are these folks on anyway?”

Rush Limbaugh Jay Leno Show: "Obama Is Polarizing," I'm Not

“Rush Limbaugh argues from the perspective of efficiency without any regard to equity in society. Anytime you make the argument for equity the efficiency folks come out to discuss how it is inefficient to be equitable. If we become a pure efficiency based society without regard to equity we will become a society straight out of Terminator in the rise of the machines. This guy demonizes Health Care reform by equating the provision of affordable health care to a significant and expanding at risk portion of the population as bringing on the end of liberty. Ironically, while when during the Bush/Cheney years the administration expanded its reach into every aspect of American's lives, including surveillance of Americans, Rush Limbaugh for some reason was strangely silent about the loss of liberty. Anyone can be Rush Limbaugh, just protect Capitalistic Interests at all costs, do not bog down the engines of capitalism for issues relating to equity and you too can be Rush Limbaugh. In fact the corporatists will sign you up. There is nothing wrong with insisting that the aims of corporations, the state etc should have some regard for the citizens that they rule and profit off of. The Free Market does not fix everything. Sometimes the free market emboldens thieves.”
Ashley Dupre Invited To, Then Uninvited From Tommy Hilfiger Party

“Tommy Hilfiger is the bigger ho, frankly. His "fashion designs" were lited from other designers, a brand based on faux originality. I cannot speak of him on a personal level. But it would seem to me that Ashley Dupre's invitation and disinvitation is being used a prop by a faux designer and an elitist publicity house to land his forgotten brand some juice in the mainstream press. Tommy Hifiger is basically Geranimals guised as an upscale brand for those who do not know any better. The only reason why anyone is even talking about Tommy Hilfiger today is because of Ashley Dupre. Paul Wilmot Public Relations should tell Tommy to make out two checks this month, one for his agency and another for Ashley Dupre. You upstanding snots need to stop looking your nose down at this girl. And if I were Russell, I would have blown Tommy off for telling me who I can and cannot bring to an event.”
Manhattan District Attorney's Race Nears End On Tuesday

“A 90 year old man stayed in his office longer than reasonable until he could decide who he wanted to replace him in office. Leslie Crocker Snyder's crime? She challenged the old man before he was ready to go. Her reward? The old boys network gangs up on her and paints her as out of touch. What is more out of touch than trying to put in office an Aristocrat who spent the better part of the last 25 years building his career on the other side of the country. Seattle Cy Vance, Jr. should have launched his political career at the Space Needle in Seattle, not New York City.”

“Please excuse me, although I happen to mostly like Andre Balazs work in New York City, if I find it if nothing a bit ironic, perhaps even in poor taste to open up a high end hotel lounge in New York of all places, not that far from Wall Street, named after the place at certain New York Investment Banks where female employees were hazzed and sexually harassed. Obviously, I am not suggesting that the license to that name is proprietary or that the ownership will endorse sexual harassment of female investment bankers as in all likelihood, this looks like the same purveyors of bad Manhattan Nightlife are moving the show from Club Row to Meatpacking, or at least tring to. So, now in addition to the regular Nude Shows for the general public provided by guests at the Standard Hotel we now have a lounge to inspire Wall Street memories. The hype in NYC nightlife of late is like an aphrodisiac for necrophiliacs. The same folks keep tyring to push the hype behind the idea of a new Studio 54 and a resurgence of that era being ushered in. God help us please. Andy Warhol is dead, everyone's 15 Minutes have been well over extended into a never ending fame dance, while the same faces pepeptrating the artistic fraud, still have their hand in your wallet selling you a bad line of coke. Enough.”

“In the race for New York District Attorney, the choice for most people should come down to one between Retired Judge Leslie Crocker Synder and Richard Aborn. My recommendation for Seattle Cy Vance is that he should run for District Attorney in Seattle, Washington, where he has spent most of the last 25 years, a significant portion of his professional legal career. In these times, I want someone who has spent the last 25-30 years in New York City, working as a prosecutor, a judge and a private practice attorney, not someone who returned to cash in on his name, old boy network connections to use the Office of the District Attorney as launching pad for a political career. NO DICE for SEATTLE CY VANCE--------I AM VOTING FOR A NEW YORKER NOT AN ARISTOCRAT.”

“This is a ridiculous way of r a semi final match to end at the US Open. Penalize her for sure, institute a fine, but to hand the match to a competitor in this manner is bad form and ultimately bad for the sport of Tennis, regardless of what one thinks of Ms. Williams. Ironically, the manner in which she shook her competitor's hand, regaining her composure after being robbed illustrates that her passions got the best of her and she is still very much a class act and good for the game of tennis”

“FOX sells mythology and disinformation via the time honored method of T&A, the best you can find in the American heartland. They have more pretty anchors than the other channels. FOX was the first to accept that the mainstream media is no longer engaged in journalism but in infotainment. Our society of consumer zombies digests the distraction as fact and then sticks around for more entertainment disinformation. The sad reality is that Fox did not dumb down America, America was already dumbed down by the time they arrived on the scene. It is a formula that works. At this juncture, a wide swath of the American public does not know and does not care to know what is going on in America. If you learn anything from watching Sean Hannity, you are obviously of low intellect and highly misinformed. Fox does not even try to pretend that what they are doing anymore is to serve any kind of public service via their "News" programming. They exist for the sole purpose of selling the corporate militarist perspective and are an arm of the GOP. Sean Hannity is America's, Joseph Goebbels, a Minister of Propaganda who gets his riffs form Mark Levin and sells it in amore palatable package.”

Glenn Beck Gets First Scalp: Van Jones Resigns

“The truth about the 9/11 Truth Movement is that if you want anyone to blame for it, blame Dick Cheney, George W Bush & co. for the veil of secrecy that enveloped both our government's Executive & Judicial branch from 2000-2008. The 9/11 Truth Movement arose and was sustained largely in the vaccum of the Bush/Cheney Administration's arrogance and unwillingness to cooperate with a commission that they initially attempted to rig and stack against those demanding a legitimate and thorough inquiry into one of the greatest catastrophes on American soil. Furthermore, the pure 9/11 Truth Movement is filled with more rank and file conservatives than liberals. Now the movement has jumped the shark, become impure, no longer a truth seeking operation, but one that has become infected with disinforma tionalists working in concert with mainstream media forces to destroy socially and politically anyone who has ever affilliated with it. Dare we make this some odd litmus test of patriotism rather than the treason committed by Bush/Cheney Administration officials who engaged in an Obstruction of Justice in hiding facts and evidence from the 9/11 Commission? Be careful, all roads do not lead to Rome. They may instead lead to a hell of your own making when you try to determine whom are the actual patriots.”

“Van Jones' resignation should disturb and unsettle any serious American Patriot. If speaking truth to or challenging power or prevailing orthodoxy or policy and aligning oneself with or assisting the the powerless, the weak and those without a voice in society when you perceive injustice is enough to get you labeled a socialist, a communist, anti-American and then having you run from office, then what kind of country are we living in? Underming Van Jones, White House Green Jobs Czar is obviously part of an overall Republican right wing agenda to bring down the Obama White House and undermine the implementation of progressive policy. And if we as citizens stand by when that happens, we are complicit in the demise of our democracy and the destruction of our constitutional principles. So Van Jones was maybe at one point a 9/11 Truther, well how is that worse, than Dick Cheney, the former Vice President, who by accounts given by Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton who headed the 9/11 Commission, that President Bush & Dick Cheney engaged in what amounts to an Obstruction of Justice by hiding evidence from legitimate inquiry. Jay Z is being promoted as one of the leader's of a movement by forces of Tyranny who see the black community as monolithic and want someone who can "dictate" and mold that community for profit, not for enlightenment. He's having some concerts, making some money, the entertainment business is thriving. It's all good. But do not try to turn Jay Z into some Urban Messiah who speaks for all. He is just another successful guy going about his business, the business of making money for himself, the labels, accountants, lawyers, agents, publicists etc. Much in the same way that now that Michale Jackson is out of the way, many of the forces of greed that destroyed him, can now make boatloads of money off of him without having to deal with him.”

“Do not hate Jay Z. His sound is mildly entertaining and he has some good hooks and some interesting songs. But I would have the same issue if it was Madonna and Britney as I do with this. Jay Z should be credited with mainstreaming rap but he has on many levels left the roots of the hip hop movement. Dude, you need to relax, not every critique of a black entertainer has racial overtones. It has gone beyond a slick public relations campaign, Jay Z is being injected into so many aspects of mainstream pop culture and aligning himself with very powerful forces. I respect that he went from the Ghetto to the Penthouse. The term "sell out" originated and was tagged mostly on white artists who left their roots, their original fans, mainstreamed their sound to reach a wider audience and a bigger paycheck. It is a tremendous PR move for Jay Z and good business. Let's just say corporate america was not rolling out the carpet for folks like Tupac and I do not think that they will be doing it for Eminem anytime soon either. His contribution shall be duly noted and is also very convenient timing. Jay Z has entered the belly of the beast and is no longer shouting it down.”
