A woman of child-bearing age who has OTHER legal/contractual obligations (like being in the military) should take precautions to NOT become pregnant if the duties of one (child care) would preclude her from fulfilling the duties of the other (military duty) ! This is *particularily* important IF there is the [distinct] possiblity that she WILL be deployed where she cannot take family members *and* she has no one with which to leave her child while she is deployed. There's always the option of abstinence and/or (artificial) birth control methods available to ensure a woman does not get pregnant. This isn't being cold or dismissive of a female and her right to reproduce, it's factual.

The military are not a 'social agency' to "help her find proper care for her kid" - frankly, even suggesting they should do so, smacks of control of family member-children on a magnitude worthy of Mao.

The uniformed services - *well* in advance- go to GREAT lengths to ensure members have well-documented plans *on file* with the military, for the care of dependent family members in the event of deployment.

This fiasco is NOT on the military; it's ALL on her and HER failure to comply with long-standing measures in place to make *sure* dependents [of the service member] are taken care of in the event of a deployment and/or in the event of an emergency evacuation of family members from an assigned location *without* their sponsor [military member].”

“Yes but she is a representative of the U.S...The contestants of THAT pageant are supposed to have some general skill sets correct? Those that would distinguish themselves from others? Or why not just grab prostitutes off the street and let them compete?...Where do we draw the line?
