“The US Government or I should say the US Taxpayers shouldn't be paying for a Television Network in the first place. The royalties that PBS makes on Big Bird and Friends with all the toys, video games, puppets, etc. should be used to pay for the programming. For all of you who want to scream and yell about this, open up your own wallets and donate money. Things have to be cut and we have to start somewhere. Every single item in the budget is important to someone or some special interest and there will be fallout from every cut made but at some point everyone must realize that 16 trillion dollars of debt and over a trillion dollars a year in deficit spending has to stop. We cannot printing money if we want our money to be worth even the paper it's printed on.”

“The amount of money spent on PBS will fund 6 minutes (MINUTES!) of the Pentagon budget. When cutting funding, a budget expert never starts with the pennies. They always start with the big dollar savings.
Mitt saying he is going to cut PBS is a play to the elderly t-party voters who do not care about education or children.”

“Yeah, girl! Especially if we want to preserve all those huge tax breaks for the richest 1%! Why cut $1-trillion+ in tax cuts or the wealthy when you can take away PBS's $445 million! (You must be awesome at balancing your checkbook....)”
