"School Children Singing the Praises of President Obama" (Apparently as a Public School Class Project):

“This is much ado about nothing. It's not like POTUS or the WH had anything to do with it. More nonsense taken out of context in order to create a distraction on behalf of the Repubs.
BTW, this is not unique to Obama. Check out this youtube clip from a Nixon documentary (2:44 minutes into the video).

Personally I do not think we should not hero worship ANY president. But the wingnuts are laying on the outrage a bit thick here, no?”

Just a technical question. Do we need 51 or 50 votes (+ Biden) for reconciliation? I keep hearing we need 51, but wouldn't 50 and Biden be enough for a majority?”

Making Sense of ACORN
Commented Oct 14, 2008 at 13:44:38 in Politics
“My thought is this campaign to discredit ACORN to try to de-legitimize the future President Obama. My prediction is the week before the election, the RNC will file a claim in a federal court claiming ALL 1.3 million voters registering through ACORN should be considered invalid and thrown off the voter rolls.
This action will put the whole process into chaos and into the courts and cause total confusion on election day, particularly in minority districts. Many people will not know if they have been purged from the voter rolls until they show up Nov 4th. Best case scenario for McCain is it gets all the way to the conservative Supreme Court and they pull another Gore v. Bush. Worst case scenario for the Republicans is they de-legitimize the future Obama presidency by saying the election was “tainted” with fraud. Either way, they “win”.
Hopefully I’m just being paranoid. Hopefully the Obama campaign is working to neutralize some of the Republican strategy. I’m sure they still have some dirty tricks up their sleeves, but my sense is this ACORN strategy seems to be their “piece de resistance”!”

“There are several examples in the article of her being unprepared to deal with even the Alaskan issues. She seems highly ambitious, but doesn't come off as someone who is intellectually curious (remind you of anyone?).
Interesting article...nevertheless we should not make the mistake twice of understimating her. She is a force with the entire right-wing machine behind her. I believe in surgical strikes rather than cluster bombing. Leave all the family , National Enquirer stuff alone.
The goal for Obama/Biden is to have the public perceive her as someone who is in waaayyy over her head and dangerously unprepared as a VP.”

“Another ting to keep in mind when calculating (or at least trying to use) the "popular vote". Caucus states get severly underrepresented in the calculation. Imagine two states that both have 1,000,000 Democratic voters, but one is a caucus state and the other is a primary state. The primary state has a turnout of 600,000 and Hillary beats Obama 60-40, that is 360,000 votes to 240,000 for a margin of 120,000 net Hillary votes. The caucus state has a turnout of only 200,000 (because the process itself reduces turnout) and Obama beats Hillary by exactly the same margin, 60-40. That means 120,000 votes for Obama and 80,000 for Hillary, a net margin of 40,000 Obama votes.
What does this mean? In one sense, it means that Obama and Hillary have exactly tied. Two states, same population, each won a 60-40 vote in one of them. But the "popular vote" count would give Hillary an 80,000 vote edge just because primaries generate bigger turnouts.
That's a ridiculous measure of who is the "true" choice of Democrats. What you have here is too different methods of "sampling" Democratic voters. The weight of the results should be in terms of the size of the population of the Democratic voters, not the size of the "sample."”

“Obama supporters should steel themselves for the fact that Hillary is taking this to the convention. Posts like this and the stuff on Taylor Marsh and Hillary44 indicates they are itching for a convention fight. Why else would they be pushing this MI/FL/"popular vote" argument so hard?
Obama played by the rules. He is less than 50 delegates away from cliching the nomination. Now they want to move the goal posts and either screw him out of the nomination or weaken him so badly he will lose in November. This isn't over by a long shot!”

Someone did a little review over at Kos of the last 100,000 posts there.From IamNobody's diary;
The dailykos first:
The 100,000 posts were written my 8389 unique users, with the most prolific user posting 813 times. The top 20 posters have posted almost 8% of the total and the top 550 users posted half of all the posts. 1219 users are "regulars", where regulars are defined as having posted 20+ times, the regulars have posted 68% of all posts..
Now for hillaryis44:
The 100,000 posts were written by 310 users. That is NOT a typo. Three hundred and ten users wrote all 100,000 posts. The most prolific user posted 7170 times. The top 20 users have posted 45% off all posts and 24 users have posted half of all posts. 171 users are "regulars", where regulars are defined as having posted 20+ times, the regulars have posted more than 99% of all posts.
The top poster on dailykos with 813 posts would be no higher than 63rd on the list at hillaryis44.

If she thought this was going to be over in 1 week, why would HRC want to debate Obama again?. Is she kidding? After 21 or 22 debates, what can she possibly have to say that anyone could want to hear?

So you see while Axelrod and Obama are saying one thing, his campaign is making sure the MSM is broadcasting loud and clear that Clinton wants Obama to be assassinated. This is precisely the way this campaign has run throughout the campaign and why I call it the 3 D.......deceptive, devious and dirty campaign.. maybe one of the worse in my lifetime.”

“Obama has a 20 year distinguished career helping the disadvantaged. Does that mean anything to Clinton supporters? Does Clinton's marginal record even bear scrutiny? What major accomplishment does she have? All Clinton can do is inspire vitriol within her old haggard minions. I shudder to think of a Clinton administration. Her constantly shifting positions, and fabrications amount to nothing more than second rate leadership. As for her ideas, we've heard them all before.”

“Look, as an Obama supporter, I would have given her the benefit of the doubt if he had come out and IMMEDIATELY and SINCERELY apologized to not just the Kennedy family, but the Obama family and the American people.
Instead she gave some half-baked, "if anyone was offended" type of apologies that drive me nuts.
I would ask Hillary supporters to compare the Obama campaigns reaction to "assassination-gate" to the "elitist" San Francisco bru-ha-ha. Hillary was on TV within an hour calling Obama elitist and out of touch. Remember? Who has shown more class and restraint?
I would implore her to salvage any shred of credibility she has left, show some class, and immediately suspend her candidacy. But who am I kidding?
See you in Denver everyone!”

“Thank you Mr. George for this very well written post. As an Obama supporter, I understand the frustrations of many Clinton supporters. She is a fine candidate and her and her husband have made great contrbutions to this country. We all owe them a debt of gratitude.
However, Most rational Clintonites would concede she did not run the best campaign. She was plagued by in-fighting among surrogates and staff; her fund-raising was not up to the challenge; she ignored the caucus states; and she ran on experience in a "change" year.
Elections are never about who's the most qualified (Exhibit #1: GW Bush). Otherwise we would be taking about Joe Biden or Bill Richardson right now. Elections are about who connects with the voters. On every count, Barack has done a better job connecting. Sorry that is just the way it is.”

Look, I've had many many issues with Ms. Fowler the last few weeks, and I was ROYALLY PISSED when I found out it was she who sold him out to the MSM over that "bitter" controversy.
However, now is not the time to settle scores. Ms. Fowler is obviously a vehement supporter of Senator Clinton and while I do not agree with her tactics, I can respect the passion she feels for her candidate. And most of us have way more in common with her than we do with those Right-wing nut jobs on FOX or Newsmax! We are going to need support from people like Ms. Fowler to pull this thing off in November, so now we have to begin the healing process.
I think in a strange way, all of this adversity Obama has had to face, however painful, has made him a better candidate for the fall.
So whaddya say, let's try to keep some sanity in this discourse and rejoice that our candidate, the guy with the big ears and the funny name, IS GOING TO BE THE NEXT POTUS!!!!

“I don't think people are attacking Clinton as Obama supporters. I know that I am disgusted with her actions because of how willing she has been to throw her fellow Democrat to the dogs, to slash and burn the Democratic party chances, and to use old-style politics more harshly and ineptly than the republicans themselves.
We're not Obama supporters attacking Clinton: we're Democrats, Independents, Republicans; blue-collar-workers, unemployed, and white-collar workers; men and women, minorities and caucasians; but most of all, we are Americans.
We attack her because we are outraged at her actions, her selfishness, and the damage she has inflicted to our chances to have a president who will effect change in a government rife with corruption, nepotism and stupidity of the sort she has displayed in droves during this race. We know Obama is above attacking her as we are. But it's our nation, and we have every right to call her out for sacrificing it--and us--us for blind ambition.”
