“lol Wrong! I've never been in the military. But my son's an Army officer and he sure has a lot of stories! My uncle was career noncom Army, so I've heard it told both ways. I submit that officers and enlisted are both what it takes.”

“This Air Force Officer had training how to plan for his future. They get far more training then the enlisted when it comes to finances. I know about this area! A lot of people use their homes as an ATM machine to go on trips and buy expensive cars! I am just confuse to see a Major in the Air Force having these issues! I know the time are ruff, but he has skills! If he has problems and need help he can seek the VA! Washington State VA has one of the best systems in the country!
I will tell you this! Some officer in the military sit back and make the enlisted do all the work in their field and find out after retirement they do not have the skills.
The officers stop practicing the skills in the military and make his enlisted folks do all the work. I have seen many times the Officers end up working for the enlisted in the civilian world because the enlisted can explain the work and its problems and know how to manage people!

“Absolutely true. The Non-Commisioned Officers manage the military. But tell me again about this doctor? You are a doctor and can't afford your mortgage? And a lot of these people with houses have only themselves to blame. Like someone here already said they used their homes like an ATM, borrowing against it for vacations, Christmas, and anything else that they needed money for instead of putting away a little. And if you are living check to check with nothing left over each week you may think about walking away from that mortgage because you can't afford it. We also know a lot of people have houses they couldn't afford in the first place. I only have sympathy for those that had jobs that afforded them these houses and lost them through no fault of their own then fell behind or those that fell prey to a medical mishap.”
