How Sarah Palin Could Win The 2012 GOP Nomination

How Sarah Palin Could Win The 2012 GOP Nomination

Commented Nov 16, 2009 at 12:05:12 in Politics

“Sarah could win the GOP presidential nomination for 2012 if she runs. She and her ilk now control the republican party. She is the one that makes the most noise, gets her supporters excited, loves to attack, talks and looks good. She will bring an excitement (the conservative kind) like Obama did (progressive kind).

Yes, she could win the GOP nomination but I don't think she has the stick-around fortitude when the going gets tough. I think she is looking to host her own tv show to capitalize on her high appeal.

Remember she was a tv sports reporter, a beauty queen. What else does she need for tv or politics today. Anyone that comes along making sense of this world gets smeared and mocked. So she fits right into to the political and business models today. Go Sarah....”

“CNN is a joke, a Fox wanna be. I look at it from 4 pm to 6 pm because I can't stomach Fox at all and can't stomach Chris Matthews. I faithfully watch Ed, Keith, Rachel - the progressives.
CNN under Ted Turner was masterful. Under TimeWarner, CNN swung to the right and doing Bush43 parroted everything right-wingers said as gospel. Yes, they may be making money in their other businesses around the world but presenting the unbiased news to America they fall short trying to imitate Fox.
Bring TedTurner creative juices back and get on track again.”

“Where is the plan? The repubs will not participate w the dems because they want to change everything the dems have put forth. Like w the economic recovery plan they whined for more tax cuts and got them inserted in the bill, but they still didn't vote for the plan. Their districts are getting recovery plan money, like Sen. Burr in NC giving out a big stimulus check, and every chance he and his cohorts do is knock down the plan. They are hypocrites with big 'H' written on their chest and back. Like the Texas republican delegation of senators sent letter to Obama requesting recovery plan money for NASA that they didn't vote for and dogged every chance they get. How can a media keep presenting these hypocritical clowns.. the press first amendment rights need to be taken away from them.
The repubs have no HC plan. They may have ideas but do that constitute a workable plan. We shall see..”

“Why do we continue to hear from and about 'democratic strategists, pollsters, pundits ' fearing what the republicans are doing. They need to shut up. For once, they need to speak to american people who voted to put democrats in charge on what this country needs. When will our clowns speak up. Yes, the republicans are making the loudest noise but what are they actually saying. Would they have wanted an economic depression, would they have wanted our car companies to go bust, would they have wanted no stimulus plan and let people go on bread lines.
When will democratic strategists, pollsters, pundits, writers learn that they speak for democrats, our policies and principles. Gosh, they are so disappointing on tv always defending what some repub said about Pres Obama or other democrats. There is 30 years of conservative governance w recent 8 yrs of Bush. So if a democrat writer, talking head can't make the case for democratic governance they need to shut up.”

“I turned on c-span around 2:00 pm Saturday to look at the TeaBaggers. One organizer came on to say that ABC reported that there were at least 1.5 mil protesters on the mall, then he asked them to text in to report that they were present at the mall. I thought it was a strange that a network was reporting the attendance number instead of mall or DC police. Next, c-span tv angle view of the audience did not show 1.5 mil people. I saw one overhead view from another cable tv which looked to be close to the reported number, but now I read where that overhead view photo was from 2003 or 2004.

They put their shrills out bashing HCR saying 1) death panels, 2) too expensive, run up the deficit, 3) gov't take over of health care, 4) eliminate competition, 5) need tort reforms, 6) you'll lose your regular doctor, 7) you'll lose your plan and be forced into gov't plan, 7) Pelosi wrote the bill in her office, 8) president not telling us what he wants, 9) the bill should come from the WH instead of congress, 10) insurance companies will be ran out of business, etc. 20 hrs a day, 7 days a week that's what americans have been hearing. The other hours you hear the other side. Even c-span has turned into a right wing noise machine, scheduling 4 to 1 of their guests, think tanks, congress people of conservatives. It's all one sided. An effective job is being done because now most people are not ready for HCR but in March the majority were in favor of it.
The dems need to pass HCR w/o repubs - stand up for the people that gave them control in congress. The repubs only want the gov't to help corporations thru lower taxes, no regulations, and make wars to fatten their coffers, want a large military, mostly private to protect the thieving corporate interests overseas. “Mr. Stein, where are these facts when you blowharts appear on these tv shows. I've seen you on the Ed Show debating the republican's talking points of 'he said, she said'. But never are facts presented to forward the debate. How long do we have to suffer 'death panels', 'gov't takeover', etc. These are republicans talking points (lies) that they want you to continue talking about and that's what you all do.
Every morning on C-Span WashJournal some reporter is on debating the 'he said, she said' about HCR. Then a republican congress person or business lobbist comes on debating the horrors of the HCR. No wonder the average folks that works all day and come home to catch a small portion of the news are confused and influenced by 'republican talking points' of death panels and gov't takeover. That is all that they hear, even the dems' chatter class are discussing these talking points. We are tired of this tactic. Who out there will advance this debate on what's real, not on the lies perpetrated by the business class to include conservative repubs and dems both legislators and chatter class.”

Regarding the representative's comments on abortion - it was a stupid comparison and makes no logical sense as are most of their comments.
Before roe v wade, when the middle class and rich girls got with child, they went to hospitals and got dnc's or travel to other countries for abortions. Poor women/girls had to go to back alley abortionists - discredited doctors and mid wives - who used coat handlers, etc. Many women died from those procedures or were sterile for life.”

It's time for the dems chattering class to expose this hypocrisy. Thank goodness, the dems decided to forget this bipartisan crap on health care reform. We voted dems in during 2006 and 2008 elections for them to work on the issues they are bringing forth now. But he's correct about the Robert's Court. All of their decisions have favored executive branch over legislative, corporate defendants over plaintiff and state over the condemned. What we have now are activist conservative justices changing things as they decide cases.
