“Thank you Sheldrake. It's nice to be corresponding with you, a person who knows some actual history. And I agree, science has often been shown to be on the wrong track. Fortunately, by it's own rules, science is always searching, always looking for the errors in it's ways, and is eventually self-correcting. Religion, I fear, takes the opposite track. And religion thrives by designating an enemy: Darwin in this case, and religion has been beating that drum for 150 years.”
“Once I read the story of how that Irish churchman arrived at HIS conclusion that the Earth is 6,000 years old, I laughed my adz off ! And for all the "true believers" to cling to that bit of silliness as God's own truth reveals how sadly desperate they are. Perhaps one day Religion will accept that SCIENCE is not the enemy, but the adjunct.”

“Actually Bishop Usher's scholarship in working out the timeline of Creation was superb, and if you were working, as he was, from the premise that the Bible was an accurate account then his conclusion was valid. I'm not sure we should be mocking men like Usher who were products of time when virtually no one challenged the accuracy of the Bible. Those who deserve our mockery are the ones today who cling to ludicrous dogma that science has shown to be wrong.”
“Then there's the incident where actor Rip Torn was so drunk he mistook a bank for his home and tried to break in when his key didn't open the door. Fortunately for the movie-going public, the cops grabbed him before anybody shot him. Truth is stranger than fiction !”
“They are not defenses. They are facts. Sorry your statement is unsupported, illogical, and nothing more than an emotional outburst. When you can demonstrate that the facts I present are illogical and lame, please do so. For now, your statement suggests you lack capability to form a cogent argument supporting it.”
“Piers reported HARD news and HARD opinions. What's sad is that the American people no longer want the HARD truth. So Piers' ratings were low, even though he told the HARD truth to an audience unwilling to listen.”

“Thanks for giving me a HARDy laugh. Mr. Morgan didn't seem to report that the firearm murder rate fell by HALF in the last 20 years. He didn't distinguish between suicide (60% of firearm deaths in the US) and murder with guns. Those statistics are hard news, which the liberals don't like.
Really, he was boring, and he lost his show for that reason.”

“Maybe they'll like his Hard news in England, I heard they celebrated when he left the first time.
“We Montana hicks know the farm machine the republicans are oiling up right now. It's called a manure spreader.
Get ready. Once that machine gets to spreading manure, there's no stopping it. Self-renewing. Obama's "birthers" are still spreading that residue of cattle, and the have swallowed a ton of it themselves, too.”
“Although I'm not much of a porn consumer, I happen to own the VCR that included these two sex performers. Nice to know they actually married, and stuck together. Also nice to know that intimacy does not generate from sex, but from genuinely caring deeply about another. Geeze, Whoodathunkit???”
“Jan Brewer intended to become super rich by allowing the privately owned prison system to give her kick backs from federal payments to house illegal immigrants. President Obama put a stop to that (R) scheme.”
“It seems to me a written document
signed by the actual intended participants (two or more)
signed in witness by two other non related persons of legal age, and
affirmed by a by a registered Notary Public,
would likely insure the legal certitude of all actual participants.
Perhaps a two week waiting period would be good ?

“Avery good idea. Should also include what is permitted, positions, type of fore play. Specify amount of cuddle time, so as not to have any misunderstanding. And of course a mandatory "cooling off time period prior to......”

“Einstein wrote that he didn't simply "think" of his great ideas in mathematics and physics. Once he had gained the basic understandings of the issues, the great ideas simply came to him often during the night, while he was resting. Maybe this was his form of meditation?
I've noted many scoff at meditation. Could it be they have never meditated? My early religious experience in a fundamentalist Baptist church frowned on, and implied that meditation was evil, and must be avoided. Later, when I threw out all those old ideas, and moved toward a spiritual life, I began meditating regularly, and a new way of seeing opened up for me. It changed my life, for the better.”

“I checked the back of my Bible and found 18 references to "meditate, meditates, meditated and meditation" in the Old Testament. All of them are positive references. It's unfortunate that a fundamentalist church couldn't dig farther into the Book it tries to represent.
Everything about meditation is beneficial. Especially in our fast paced world.”

“Perhaps JC was saying (as was A. L. ) that if you focus on what you want, you will get off your adz and DO something about it. That you will become aware of the opportunities that come your way, and act on them. "Thoughts held in mind CREATE in their own kind."
It worked for me. In my retirement, I have my millions, and I've survived an incurable cancer for 25+ years. ?Not too bad for taking both A.L. and JC's suggestions?”
“The true business of our nation is stalled---dead in it's tracks.
While (R)'s continue to cut their own throats ear to ear, the nation falls further and further behind in addressing our real problems. And the problems get worse.
"Lead, Follow, or get the heoh OUT OF THE WAY !"”
