Being Black on a Sunny Day

“The latest on the "neighbor" came out today, which is "she was not a neighbor." She worked in the neighborhood and was walking back to work when she noticed the two men. So, no...she was not being malicious and no he wasn't in "cahoots" with her. I don't think either of them wanted this kind of attention.”

“As I said in my response to Point 5, that was the most likely event, that the "neighbor" did not identify the professor.
My other remarks were due to the author's speculation about the "neighbor".”

The Call for Common Ground on Abortion
Commented Apr 07, 2009 at 18:28:08 in Politics
“Problem = unwanted pregnancy.”
Gidster replied on Apr 09, 2009 at 12:05:42
“Jill's misleading statement "Abortion proponent" is just ludicrous.
No one wants to get an abortion, not one woman on this planet is sitting at home wishing she could get pregnant so she can go get an abortion.
So even your label fails under scrutiny.
Aborting a zygote, Blastocyte or 12 week embryo is not killing a human being, any more than eating an egg is murdering a chicken.
This is the intellectually dishonest part. A proto human is not a person, it is biologically a parasite. It will be many weeks before the term "Person" can be used.
Life is a more arbitrary concept, since single cells have life, so your usage is disingenuous at best.
A cancerous tumor is alive by that definition, would you not want it removed?
Life does not equal Human Being.”

“Part of the problem is the shock of it. It feels like you've been kicked in the teeth. Your emotions have you spinning and unable to think strategically. You will look back on this later knowing that there was a method to the madness. It's too bad that politics is what it is but don't forget...B O is a political genius. He is administering the "shot" and you will feel the positive results later. So hang in there.”

TERRYKEITH4 replied on Dec 21, 2008 at 17:02:56
“Right! And also not helping, but putting a glitch in the thing. It's not the ignorants of Black people that helped pass prop 8. It's the ignorants of the leaders of the gay community that passed prop 8. Don't mess up and blame it on somebody else. I see that a lot from the White leaders at work who are always trying to fire the Blacks. Hey gay rights leaders! Be careful who you call ignorant.
And I wouldn't hardly call the passage of prop 8 the demonization of gay people. I call the dyeing of the hair blue, the piercing of the sex organs, the wearing of the dresses while not shaving the beard, and all of that whatever the demonizing of the self.
Don't do things to make yourself look like a demon and then blame somebody else for calling you that.”

Jesse, don't take into consideration all of the hard work you've put in for years. If you are truly innocent of any wrongful conduct, nevermind. If you are "clean", don't fight for your reputation and certainly don't stand up for what's right. Just bow out now. You know you have to. Why you ask? Well, because you're black of course! Ok?”

“The bio on Yas' myspace page is very interesting. Music is absolutely awsome and you don't have to understand Farsi to relate as long as you understand what inspired artists like Tupac. Too bad that some people who have made comments don't understand the power of Hi-Hop. It will change the world one artist at a time.
