“The Philadelphia Gay News banner headline praising Hillary plastered on the internet could not come at a worse time for Clinton, she's depending on those Reagan Democrats to be more racist than misogynistic, but these vociferous supporters may stir those Reagan dem's religious sensibilities, because to be honest if they weren't union labor they'd be Republicans. When all political media coverage ends up national news you can't pander to one support group without alienating another, on top of being proved a liar on two different stump speech stories and trying to revise her and Obama's political Iraq history. Although Hillary's campaign does orchestrate the media with success sometimes for example her Canadian wink and nod on NAFTA wasn't caught till after the Ohio vote while they were able to accuse Obama of the same thing prior to it and all the talking heads are saying the Clinton's released their tax records when in fact they filed for an extension on their 2007 return.”

“Hillary appeals to the old white blue collar Reagan Democrats to call Obama unelectable. They may prefer her to him, but what makes her think they wouldn't more prefer a genuine straight talking American hero; these are after all the same uneducated people who voted against their own interests to elect Nixon, Reagan, and both Bush's. (I recall a ditty in a John Deere tractor factory bathroom stall saying if you voted for Nixon you couldn't use the facilities because your rectal orifice was in Washington)

Actually should she get the nomination, Hillary will have an easier time re-claiming the black vote than getting those Reagan Democrats to vote for her instead of McCain. Other than keeping a good job, they sort of prefer a conservative court, are against gay-marriage, illegal immigration, bussing, affirmative action, etc.

Perhaps after eight years of Bush and the divisive politics of Karl Rove, our Country is ready for a change, a candidate calling for us to come together to recognize our melting pot society and work together, because nothing gets done when we're split 50-50, Red State-Blue State.”

“Maif, were I Hillary, I would not count on the Black vote coming back, as you suggest. What "they" prefer is beyond your reckoning. Perhaps you can explain America's infatuation with liars. Here's a puzzle for you. You think that those people who got fired in the Travelgate episode, star date 42701, were the ones that arranged her flight into war torn Bosnia?

One to beam up!”

“it's time to stop pointing fingers and blaming congress and the president. They are all employees. We the Employers have got to find new employees who actually do what we tell them to do. right now the inmates have control of the media, the courts, and the police. They think we are too stupid to see whats going on and are powerless to fire them. If we truly want change then its up to us to make change. CAN WE PLEASE SET ASIDE OUR DIFFERENCES AND FIND COMMON GROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. lets fire the lot of them. if we performed at our jobs like they have performed at their's we'd be gone. let's find new candidates to support candidates who understand that they are employees and reset this mess.

“Since preachers are just as egotistical as politicians many of them have video archives of their sermons, most likely for sale to faithful. As those short out of context sound bites from Rev. Dr. Wright have proved with dramatic effect, I'm sure researchers would find many such wake up the sinner moments in other Clergy's sermons.

Perhaps someone like Bill Mayer could purchase a bunch of these archives and turn a team of researchers loose to root out these sound bite gems, since it's now fair game to tar a politician with a preacher's brush.”

McCain Gaffe -- It Wasn't on Our Minds

Commented Mar 24, 2008 at 14:44:27 in Media

“Unfortunately what is on our minds is what corporate media provides us with. Oh sure ratings matter if a show or talking head doesn’t produce ratings, they’re gone. They do their demographics, what kind of audience do they have, is it right for their sponsors, how do they increase the numbers for the target they want, etc.

The news media picks stories of interest to their sponsor's target and perhaps of public interest as determined by ratings, circulation, etc. that determines their advertising rates. Thus the cheaper it is to produce a story that results in ratings the better, making run-away brides and Paris Hilton irresistible, and stories their sponsors may not like are vetted to be more in the public interest, than contrary to their sponsors.

So when a newsman tells us the McCain gaff wasn't on our minds he probably means Spitzer's sexcapades were getting better ratings.”

“I think the point is fair game. Michelle Obama raised the issue herself with her comment that "For the first time in her life she is proud of her country" Then connect that to a twenty year record with their minister who called the country the "US of KKKA". As the saying goes, if you lay down with dogs you get fleas. For many voters the jury is still out as to whether the Obama's truly love this country. If you take Michelle at her word the Obama's love of country seems to be conditioned on winning the nomination. Hey, the Obamas SHOT THEMSELVES in the foot. Deal with it.”

“Reminds you of the joke where one person calls another fat, and that person replies well I can exercise but when you wake in the morning you'll still be stupid. Sounds like Hillary is saying she is a Politian with a lifetime's experience and can pander to any interest group, but Obama is a black man who can never win over red neck white people.

That may have been true for Hillary's generation even excluding her defense of black panthers, but just look at the grassroots support Obama has engendered, the money pouring in, the young people organizing. It gives me hope, yes I will vote for this epitome of the American melting pot, this young man preaching inclusion, to change things in Washington.

It's sad really that Hillary the Politian is saying her husband bubba's belief that we were beyond that white/black thing is wrong, that the other bubbas just won't vote for Barack. She's down to this last ugly argument, anoint her or lose. Afro-Americans will still have to vote for her, what are they going to do vote Republican, she can pander them back into the fold, but Barack can't change his skin color.

The questions for the super-delegates; why wouldn't the bubbas prefer McCain to Hillary, would the grassroots Obama money disappear, would blacks desert the party or worse, are Americans ready to elect this inspirational man who has the courage to tell them the truth rather than pander till the election?”
