“Exactly, It's Bush's fault, it's the weather, bad economy in Europe, someone exercised his free speech right and made a video that caused the attacks, Mitt lies, I was to polite.......on and on and on!!! How about, foreign affairs don't interest me, I believe in European socalism, I want to play golf, I like nice vacations, I want to be on the view more than attending my security briefing......and on and on!”
“Hey HP, you better do your fact checking a little better. The GM plant closed in 2009! The newspaper that reported it closing in 2008 was wrong. Liberal news last night pointed that fact out and that Ryan was correct!”
lakabux on Aug 30, 2012 at 11:24:09
“Wrong: "By December 2008, when President George W. Bush authorized nearly $14 billion in loans to General Motors and Chrysler, both of which were near financial collapse, GM had already warned it might close the Janesville plant because of sagging sport-utility vehicle sales. The plant was effectively shut down on Dec. 23, 2008, when GM ceased production of SUVs there and laid off 1,200 workers. (Several dozen workers stayed on another four months to finish an order of small- to medium-duty trucks for Isuzu Motors.)
“What is the fair share for the 46 per cent who pay zero Federal income tax? They probably don't talk about that on Liberal News.”
suzukimom on Aug 30, 2012 at 00:20:23
“Do you mean the corporations like GE that pay zero taxes, or are you referring to Mitt Romney's zero taxes paid in 2009, which is why he steadfastly refuses to show us his tax returns.”
Barbara DeZan on Aug 30, 2012 at 00:07:32
“Well, like it or not. 42 MILLION people live below the poverty line in our country...they don't pay taxes.......they buy FOOD and SHELTER........
53 million people are on SocSec..and 43% of those LIVE on their SocSec check. Average check is 1200 for men and 700 for women....well below the poverty line..they have a hard enough time getting food and shelter, too.
Unemployment has been at record highs since 2007....when people don't have jobs, they don't pay taxes...nor do they contribute to the economy.
You know, if you want real news and real information....you gotta turn off Rush and Fox. Research yourself...learn something.”

“You mean like Exxon Mobil, or GE? For corporations it's 66% that pay zero federal income taxes, and they want to pay even less.”
F4flyr on Aug 29, 2012 at 23:58:29
“Manfor...have you checked to see who it is that doesn't pay income taxes?...like people who live below the poverty line?...the unemployed?...the elderly?...check and see before you shoot your mouth off...I pay no taxes because I live on SS and a VA pension...after credit for mortgage interest and the standard deduction, I don't owe anything...just how much do you think I should pay for, skippy?”

“Why don't you try living at or below the poverty level and then come back with your silly song and dance?”

“You're against a living wage and then you cry when people don't make enough to pay FIT. That's rich.”
“Call it what you like, or twist it. If a rape or life of mother is endangered(by Romney's religious convictions) the seed then becomes an enemy to the woman. Just like going to war, or do you believe we should be able to kill for any reason. No, I know you don't except when the foe has been determined to be an enemy. Killing an enemy is not murder. Not really complicated when thought about deeper than what political platforms go into. Either a man is in harmony with his religious convictions, or that man really doesn't belong to that religion by heart!”
UtahLiberal1945 on Aug 21, 2012 at 21:56:46
“You nicely avoided the point....if you think the a person begins a conception...sperm meets egg...then that leaves you with no wiggle room...if a woman is raped...and conception takes place then from the the Romney point of view a person forms at that point...then if the woman who war raped aborts even at a very early stage that has to be murder...the republi.cons have given that raped women through no fault of her own no legal position..she must have the child full term or be considered a murderer...of course I dont believe killing for any reason...killing an enemy may not be murder in your sense but it is killing....you still are forcing that women to kill....think about the insane concept of personhood at conception....insane.....and God has not revealed when life begins....that decision at this point is man made....”
“Get us out as soon as possible. I don't believe Afghanistan wants to fight anybody and eventually the entire US effort will fail by trying to get the Afghanistans to take over. It is pointless to stay there. Drill our own oil so we don't need to go to war in the Middle East and be very careful who we let in this country!”
“I suppose there are all kinds of reasons people divorce at different ages. People change, which changes the marriage. I just haven't seen success in saving marriages through counseling when one or both are unhappy in it. Maybe, because one or both of the parties just don't want to stayed married to each other anymore. No amount of cohersion is going to make someone like the taste of something, if they just don't like it. I do believe that marriage takes work and effort(from both sides) thoughout the years to keep it fresh and alive, if not it will die.”
“The Truce should be, if Romney releases 5 years of tax returns, Obama will admit to his failure of his presidency and step down. That would be fair.”

“Why would Obama do that, since he has done a masterful job preventing up the near total destruction of the economy by 8 years of Shrub and Dick? Oh, that's right--he's a radical Socialist, Kenyan born Muslim who wants to Implement Sharia law in America. Sorry--I forgot the Republican talking points...”
“Einstein, interesting man. I think either of his wives probably viewed him as a walking plant about the house. (Probably avoided conversation with him) However, in fairness to him, he did advance the whole of science for man. I have a brother, certainly not a Genius but locked into his own world. He has done amazing things in his career and the Aerospace industry helping advance rocket design. He has even won, one of the few silver snoopy awards from NASA.. He refuses to listen to anyone else, but himself talking about what he is doing. I have felt sorry for his spouse(any wonder why she had a relationship with a man thankfully not an affair). I don't know how to deal with such egocentist behavior, but be polite and try to escape. They are annoying to associate with. And yet their life passes with out the flourishing relationship of marriage that I feel is of the most important for an individual. I do understand what you are saying on the definition of a Genius.”
Bellanova on Aug 16, 2012 at 19:49:08
“Ay. Sorry to hear about your brother, Man. If he is that egocentric and talkative without regard to other people's reactions, he may have Asperger's Syndrome.
These guys -- extreme engineering minds -- usually do not make good husbands or fathers because of their extreme egocentricity; but, if not too emotionally retarded (yes, that's the term), and capable of some empathy and compassion, they may live relatively decent lives, with plenty of patient help from their wives and other family members. Yeah, I know...
They are not bad people, but they have zero insight into their behavior, and, unfortunately, if they are cognizant of their life difficulties, they tend to blame them on others.
“I've been thinking about this one a few days, especially the Socrates and Xantippe part. I do believe that Socrates could think deeper than all people(especially males) of his time. Socrates would probably be classified as a Genius, which to me means, able to think well beyond the norm. I do, now, believe that marriage is for the progression of both partners. Maybe through the imperfections of each brings on the perfections of both if they stay with it, especially with kindness and understanding????What do you think?”
Bellanova on Aug 16, 2012 at 13:24:55
“I think you are exactly right. That's how that school of love, called marriage, works. As far as I can tell, at least.
Genius, BTW -- especially in the domain of hard sciences, but not only -- can be more of an obstacle than help in this kind of learning, as it leads to one-sided (overly intellectual) development with the neglect of emotional and social skills.
See Einstein as an example (one of so many) of a brilliant man who was an egocentric tyrant, unable to relate to those closest to him in an empathetic and compassionate way. Socrates may not have been much different, but not enough is known about his intimate relationships with his wife and children to say for certain.”
“Let's see, trying to remember?? I think I responded to a post that implied that the equal of a man being dutiful(taking care of the home and working) that the equivolent of that would be a dutiful wife would be having sex with her husband regularly. I think I was kind of implying that alot of women aren't always dutiful. Now before I get hammered, I realize that it takes two to make a truly loving relationship and......the man needs to do his part. I also believe that men really do want to be fun loving and romantic, just that alot of men haven't learned those traits by examples from their fathers nor have they been taught them. The woman also has an important part. When a relationship is functional then, no sex isn't dutiful on either's side. How did I do?:-)”
“Yes, I concur. Men do want romance, some just are not cognisant of it. If they were I think they could relate to their wife better. When I was younger I really thought a man and woman were totally mismatched in each other's desires and needs. Now I can see God :-))) knew what he was doing after all. I must admit that some things happen by coincidence, because statistics proves it. However, the same statistics also says a certain outcome almost assuredly will not happen several times by coincidence without someone or something controlling it, as is my case also. I guess I am in recovery with you also!:-)))”
Bellanova on Aug 15, 2012 at 00:27:34
“That "mismatch" between women and men is ripe with opportunities to learn exactly what we must learn, according to His, not our, lesson plan. (The subject we are to master is love, of course; being the annoying classroom know-it-all, I just cannot resist piping in with an obvious non-spoiler; but mostly to remind myself -- I need those reminders.)
Oh, and coincidence shmoincidence. When you look back at your life -- certainly when I look back at mine -- you (I) can see how improbable some turns of events were and how a coherent theme has been forming, whether we were paying attention or not. This happens thanks, in no small measure, to participation of other people who "surprisingly" showed up in our lives at the right time, doing what needed to be done to help foster our growth, often in unexpected ways.
Serendipity at work -- or just maybe God's grace after all.”
