Hey, what about all the people who are moving from America to Mexico to retire? Yeah, we actually have a reverse immigration problem right now. But what's bad about this immigration is our dollars are leaving this country and not being spent here.
HELLO. Why doesn't the media cover this reverse immigration?”

“Maybe, just maybe if they had not lowered the income taxes on the very wealthy, I mean the rich, the money would still be trickling down.
Instead, we have CEO's whose only concern is money and getting the most he/she can. The workers? Who cares, pay them enough to eat and they won't rise up.
I wish today's working class, what is left, would rise up and say, "enough." But they are just trained to accept it all, they are told the that they are a failure for not keeping up with the Jones' next door.
America is not the America it once was and the Republicans have slowly dismantled what was left of it (now it is corporate owned and operated).”

“Interesting article putting it all together.
However, one point that is a major one for some of us is the medications we have to take for other diseases (mine are Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia and Osteo-Arthritis). The drugs they put me on to control the symptoms literally shut down the gut. And this is on top of the weak muscles I have due to the MS.
And yes, I have to eat a lot of Fiber but I'm one of those people where most vegetables have a very bitter taste to them - always been like that but I do try and get some kind of vege's in and fruit in every day.
What do people such as myself do?”

“I've read recently that people who find vegetables to have bitter tastes often have a higher chance of having hypothroidism.
Many vegetables are "goitrogenic", meaning that they are bad for the thyroid gland. Of course most vegetables are very healthy generally, but some of them can harm a vulnerable person's thyroid.
I find many goitrogenic vegetables to taste bitter, especially brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, and turnips.
Most lists of goitrogenic foods only have the few main ones to avoid, and don't include the 30 or 40 foods that I have found by scouring sources. It's amazing, how many foods have goitrogens. The list includes almonds, pine nuts, peaches, etc. It's worth looking on the internet and collecting all information you can find on this, especially if one has a diagnosed thyroid problem. Doctors don't seem to know much about goitrogenic foods or warn against them, preferring to prescribe medication and move on.
Cooking reduces the goitrogenic component of some foods, but doesn't in all (for example - tapioca/cassava, millet). It takes a lot of cooking - 25 minutes of boiling broccoli eliminates about 80% of the goitrogen, for example. Boiling for 5 minutes doesn't remove that much, something like 25%.
I think that Dr. Weil suggests that hypothyroid people limit themselves to 1 serving of a goitrogenic food per day.
To the poster above who finds veggies to taste bitter, if you haven't looked into the possibility that you might have an insufficient thyroid, you might want to check it”

To Walmart's credit, they pointed out that a Christian is also welcome to wear a cross. But you would have thought from the letter that someone's life was in mortal danger from a simple piece of jewelry. They couldn't seem to make the connection about religious freedom.”

“Like Mother like Daughter.
Not sure if anyone has ever read the biography of Mrs. Sarah Palin, but it appears that she and her own hubby had an inconvenient truth start growing and two months later they ran away and eloped.
Hum..... Now in all honesty, that is what often happens in America so in one sense it is a true American act. But in the religious Right's world, there should be no forgiving of such sins (unless you are a religious nut yourself). They are so judgmental unless it is convenient not to.
I agree, the right family is in the White House. I just hope they can keep them all safe. I'm reading a lot of pure hate because he is black. So sad and these are people who call themselves Christian, except in their minds, blacks are still not truly human. Amazes me.”

“I do not judge someone who gets pregnant before marriage, but I do judge someone who babbles incessantly about abstinence only when she and her family do not practice it. Furthermore, Ms. Palin must have known that her daughter's pregnancy would have been the subject of much conversation in the press and the public arena and it was selfish of her to put Bristol in that spot. It is unlikely to me that Levi and Bristol wanted to marry; had they truly wanted this, they would have done so immediately rather than waiting around; and it does not reflect well on Ms. Palin that she lied repeatedly about this.”
