However, calling Elizabeth innocent is disingenuous. She campaigned with John Edwards and raised money. She knew about the affair and knew it would eventually come out. Yet, she still collected campaign donations. I wish it weren't so, but the personal life of a politician can ruin a career. Thank god he did not win the nomination. John McCain would be President today. The Republicans might have regained control of Congress, This woman put the personal ambitions of her husband above the interests of the country. Think about that before you champion the integrity of Elizabeth Edwards.”

“Well, I think we should do that and get the total weight as a criterium on how much one pays for flying. It would be the best incentive yet to finally get fast railway connections. However, the logic is a little flawed. It is the total weight that is an issue, and not the weight of an individual. Too many people are cramped in too tiny seats to increase...PROFIT!!! And charging overweight persons a higher fee increases...PROFIT!!!! That said, I would rather have fast rail, bus or private car transit and eliminate the waiting on airport terminals for connection, going from one terminal to another shlepping my luggage, or being limited on what I can and can not take with me. Overweight or not, let us hear it for public fast transportation, on the ground level.”

“CARGO PAYS MORE THAN PASSENGERS!

My knee-jerk reaction to your rationality is go soak your head. With all the weight that the airlines accept in cargo, nothing comes close in passenger weight! Money rules, hence, cargo rules. As a licensed pilot, I know this for a fact.

With all the danged complaints the airlines have received about their miserable services, passengers weight is the least of those. This is blatant discrimination, and will only open the door to more if it is permitted by our Office of Civil Rights. (Thank goodness for SW Airlines!)

Yes, weight is primarily a genetic condition, but also for many an addictions (interestingly, there are more complaints about drunks and loud snoring on planes than a person's size - and snoring is outright dangerous, and there is no worse health risk than excessive use of alcohol!!! Work in any ER in the nation and you'll see what alcohol does to people!).

There is serious misinformation about over-weight people. No all have hypertension by the age of 60, not all have high cholesterols, not all are under-exercised, or lack flexion and the ability to move easily. Ask any RN how many deceased over-weight people they've 'wheeled' to the morgue compared with "average" or under-weighters. The latter two take the permanent prize. This is all gross discrimination in our nation, just like all appearances are judge so that now Americans favor the sick "Hollywood" images.”

“I am glad I don't live in your country and that mine has its own airline. This is discrimination under the guise of "help" The same kind of discrimination that black people and gays and Jews and Muslims say they face on a daily basis.

So already fat at 5, clearly the offending child /grown up must be HUMILIATED in public because they are not thin.

And where would this "charging by weight" exercise take place? ON the open floor of an airport because of course you can HUMILIATE people into being thin, is it?

It is high time that fat people begin their own lobbying. No one really cares about your health, it is all about "looking good"

Well, despite all the so called medical facts, I have NEVER seen a fat corpse, so I'll believe the health stupidness when I see it. Heart trouble is not caused by fat- fat is the result of an already poorly performing heart.

Diabetes is not caused by fat - the fact that you are getting fat, already means your insulin management system is off kilter.

Get some REAL research done instead of having drug companies, clothing manufacturers and the gay lobbies PERSECUTING fat people.”

“What rubbish! The south beach diet doesn't work either. Obesity is a complex scientific issue that is part of human evolution. Once we stop blaming the obese, maybe we can help them. Ultimately there will be some good pharmalogical sollutions. However, to get any help with obesity a patient has to jump through many hoops and is mosltly met with here, follow this diet. If obese people could control it themsleves they would. More is needed

“Expressing the views from the other side of the aisle, I think it's wrong to participate in this better or worse attitude that women are engaging in. This image driven society has and is being used.
The competition within the fashion industry has driven this image of skinny small frame women
for years. They make money. Clear and simple. This image has been driven so blatently that many of our young girls feel inadequate if they don't look that way. It cruel and unjustified. None the less many women follow this criteria and will do anything to uphold a fashion driven image of what they should be. On the otherside, women who are naturally smaller, nevet starved themselves and could care less about the (better size, needs to eat, too skinny culture) they are just small. Their crisis is the so-called plague of being smaller. It's not wright. It pits us against each other and bears down on presence of womens appreciation of women, which can only defeat all women in the end. This has got to stop. Funny how men always stick with men no matter what. Nothing separates them regardless of what their wearing, not even a designer.”

After all this time of making clothes that do not suit/fit anyone but the most undernourished, hungry and superrich, for these spoiled brat, still wealthy designers to complain like children is shameful! They should be embarassed! Espcially since Michelle is a Real Working Woman and Mother who wants clothes, but does not need names or fancy expensive labels to validate her or clarify who she is!!

Michelle is NOT their Black barbie, their crafted, shaped ideal. She is NOT a vain 17year old new model to be shoved out on the runway with her goods hanging out while they take credit for letting the see through fabric or spicy cut reveal too much of the girl underneath and too little of something anyone could actually wear to work or a parent-teacher conference! She went to Harvard Law for heaven's sake!

I applaud Michelle's refusal to wear designers who would only make the clothes to fit her because she is the first lady while still showing the rest of us the door and tons of disdain when we show up in their shops with our normal/average size butts!

“I agree with you. Most of these so called overpaid designers don't know anything about fashion because they are men and weird ones at that.”

“Of course there are lovely images in the in the video, why would the advocates have it otherwise? Far from being unhappy I am simply offering some very (at least I think) profound and (I know) provocative questions. I made no claim that would even suggest anything about the APA and their findings or lack thereof. My is simply my own understanding of the sociological and cultural anthropological imperatives that militate against homosexual marriage. If for some reason now unknown to me I have been unhappy in 27 years of marriage the revelation thereof is still in the somewhere in my future. Suffice to say that not everyone that advocates against homosexual marriage is a raving lunatic and yes I daresay such was also the case for those advocating against interracial marriage. The profound difference is that race such as it is understood is purely and artificial and political construct. Gender is not. And the urge for self preservation couched in the imperative to proscribe homosexual as an affront to community preservation is very real.”
