“She also pointed out repreatedly the uslessness of lame duck elected officials.
I didn't hear and lot of agreement (as in not even one) from other elected officials. Or from anyone, for that matter.
Point is do you want a POTUS who decides to blow off their job two years into a four year term?
Because she has already announded loud and clear by her acts and her words that that is her view of an elected official's responsibility, and that is what her attitude toward an elected position is.
And her acts show even more that that. Most of the half term she served she made very sure she was as far away from the capitol city of Alaska as she could be.
Detached from her job mentally and physically.”

Sarah doesn't learn. And she doesn't indend to. She'll keep the clown show going till there's no more money in it.”

She has been an intelectual void all he life and thinks she can make up the gap in a couple of months of toutering.
Katie can still win with what books have you read and what would your 10 year plan for the economy be.”

This is a effort by the insurance companies to protect their profits, by being able to deny coverage for a diagnostic test for potentially life destroying disease.”

What she claims actually puts women at greater risk since by supporting the insurance lobby's talking points and blaiming Obama, she endangers women.”

“I don't get your point. The death panels are deeply baked into this healthcare bill, drafted by the democrats (remember, the republicans had no voice in this) and are called the "Preventative Task Committee". This has nothing to do with greedy insurance executives. This has to do with Washington, using a so called committee, to set the bar for the insurance companies to follow.”

“One interesting thing that has come out is the claim that mammograms between 40 and 50 would cause as many deaths as would be save.
I am curious how that statistic can be validated. How 10 to 30 years after the exposure can it proven that a breast cancer was caused by a single exposure to low level radiation, and specifically to the mammogram?
What demographic of women aged 40 to 50 who had a mammogram but never had any radiation exposure after aged 50 was used as a comparison to a control group of women 40 to 50 who had no mammogram and also had not exposure to radiation after the age of 50?”

He accues the Dims and Acorn of cheating.
Since the district is largely Republican and white it would have been pretty difficullt for Acorn (which as we all know is all black people, Right?) to get their hands on voting machines, or ballots, and almost as difficult for Democarts.
Its time for Hoffman to name names and give dates and times. What were the exit polls statistics? Give us some red meat instead of weenies.
This outsider went into a rural area with a 1.5M dollar PR machine and bull dozed the Republican candidate chosen by the local party, who had a 75K campaign budget. And he still lost.
Somebody in the Republican party of rural "real America" doesn't understand rural communities.”

Why Brain Science Is Bad for Juvenile Justice

“"This brain research may convince the public that development is a fixed, undisputed path toward rational thought, thus further marginalizing those children who stray from the path of 'normal' development."
Brain research? What exactly is that.? Does the public follow the very technnical dicipline of neuroscience all that closely?
I hope Ms Cox does a better job of using the specific language of sicence in her research notes than she does in this pseudo "scientific" word salad.
"This research also shows that young people's pathways out of punishment rely on the development of social capital -- relationships, networks, and opportunities -- as much as they do on the development of their human capacities."
What is a "pathway out of punishment?" Answer is, a good lawyer.
Should the emphasis not be on altering the behavior, that gets a youth into trouble? As opposed to finding a way to avoid punishment for continuing to behave in a manner that harms others and breaks the law.
Doesn't "brain science" not consider "relationships" to be part and parcle of our "human" capacity. We are after all a herd animal. If it is not then what exactly is it?”

“The point is to break the cycle of crime and punishment in young people instead of locking them into it for the rest of their lives. The requires a substantial change in our approach to juvenile justice. Young people who come from an environment of survival at any cost in a dangerous world, can be re-directed in their outlook and resulting behavior if placed in a more nurturing and supportive environment to learn positive social interactions. It has happened, but it does not happen enough and our system is not geared to make it happen.”

“An elected official holds office as the representative of his/her electorate regardless of their religious beliefs.
Better for the Bishop to ban Catholics from holding office. That at least would insure that the voter would not be forced by the Catholic Church to follow a religious sect that they do not belong to and whose beliefs they do not share.
And that ban would at least be honest.”
