“Star athletes in great shape die of heart attacks. There could have been an underlying condition she didn't know about. People in "excellent shape" die all the time. I understand the need for an autopsey, and I also understand the family initially being opposed to it. It's another trauma for an already grieving family. It's a sad situation!”

Senate Health Care Reform Takes Major Compromises

“You don't have to be a teabagger to be opposed to the way the congress and this administration have twisted the healthcare bill into the mess it is. Why is it, that people resort to name calling anytime you dare question what the present administration is trying to do. My plan is to vote third party. I did it in the election for President when Obama voted for FISA, there was no way I would vote for anyone who supported that. That's my plan, what's yours besides calling names.”

BeasleysMom replied on Dec 20, 2009 at 19:34:24

“To work within the Democratic party and not be "a one issue" voter. Mature people realize that they will not get everything they want, but work vigorously to get as much as we can. And, in the Democratic party those things are designed to help all Americans. Politics, like life, takes sensible compromise with your fellow man. If you quit or change your vote every time candidates says something you do not like, you will quickly run out of anyone to vote for.

So, why am I a name caller? The teabaggers don't like much about this country, but never tell us what plan they have to improve it Sounds a lot like what you are saying.”

“It would be nice to think that someone like Ingraham is rare, that the hate she has for others just because they don't believe the way she does, was unique only to her. Sadly, I read the same kind of thing here all the time. People need to get over just hating someone because of the political party they belong to or believe in. I can't believe someone like O'Reilly is the voice of reason in this event, it certainly shows how large the divide is.”

“I agree completely, but at least praying to cure cancer isn't a completely shallow, selfish thing to do. Do these people really believe God cares whether they win a football game or not. If they do, shame on them!”

“Why are government workers getting a pay increase. Everyone I know in the private sector has had their wages frozen. We've had a pay freeze at my company for three years, my husband's company has had one for a year. I don't know anyone that's getting a raise, I don't think government workers should be treated worse than the average tax payer, but they certainly shouldn't be getting benefits that the people who pay their wages aren't. We need a third party, one that represents us, not special interests. President Obama shouldn't sign this bill, or he should go through it line by line, and throw this kind of thing out.”

LongBeachHawkeye replied on Dec 13, 2009 at 22:59:49

“i appreciate the fact that you appear to care...however, please focus your energy away from the measly 2% government workers may get and toward the billions, if not trillions, given to wall street bankers, you know the ones who created the crisis in the first place

VictoriaP replied on Dec 13, 2009 at 22:00:26

HHarvey replied on Dec 14, 2009 at 17:23:38

“And there is nothing more condescending than having someone tell a fireman or policeman "get dressed on your own time." And "Not with my taxpayer money". The minute a policeman walks through the door they are on the clock and if you think for one minute that they are going to walk through the door, get dressed and not get paid for it forget it. The city does not give anything to public officers out of the goodness of their hearts and it is always going to be a struggle between the union and the cities. Perhaps the city of Oakland should have thought about this when they went into the bargaining table with the union and went over the contract. I never call people "dear" unless they hit a nerve with me and you just struck it.”

You say she was getting even, what were Conan and Shatner doing when they were mocking her. I don't get people here, they rightfully talk about all the hate on the right, by spewing as much hate as they can to do it. What's the word I'm looking for, oh yeah hypocritical!”

“Can you believe it, wouldn't it be nice to get paid overtime to get dressed for work. They'd have to pay me an hour in the morning when I get ready, and for about 30 seconds when I get home and put my sweats and t-shirt on. I'm usually always defending the police here, but this is beyond ridiculous. Getting dressed and undressed for work, should be on your own time. Cities all over the country are struggling to meet their financial responsibilities, and to have to pay out money for this idiotic claim, must mean that something else will have to be cut.”

“Hi
I actually was diagnosed years ago by a chiropractor, he sent me to a rheumatologist, and finally I had an answer. I'm not on disability, I do have a lot of pain, especially in my rib cage and hip. I agree that it's nice to finally have people (doctors) acknowledge that you have a real illness. I've been lucky, I have a great family doctor, that I've seen for 15 years. He lets me try new things, and really listens to my concerns. I work full time, and sometimes I get frustrated, because I look fine, and people expect you to do things that you really aren't able to do. I don't like for people to think I'm whining at work, but sometimes, when my supervisor asks me to put away something heavy or do something totally unrelated to my job (I'm an accountant) I get frustrated. I told her once, I couldn't lift something, and she told me to suck it up, and do it. Yeah that didn't go over so well. I like a website called patients like me, they talk a lot about Fibro, and that have a chat area, so you can get advice, and ideas from people there. It's always good to talk with people who understand what you are going through, and it seems like a good place. I hope to see you there sometime, I highly recommend it.”

NoSillyName replied on Dec 12, 2009 at 00:22:46

“Thanks for the suggestion, Mattie. I, too, was finally diagnosed by a rheumatologist, but it was many years after being told I had bursitis, tendinitis, stress, depression, etc. Once I had a diagnosis, I started researching like crazy. Also did a semester internship at the Arthritis Foundation writing articles for the newsletter and coordinating monthly groups with doctors from different specialities. Had a good doctor. That all changed when I moved to a different state. Was hoping to find temp work or substitute teaching so I could work when I'm up to it, but so far, nothing. Just a tiny SSDI amount monthly which causes a lot more stress, being so poor. Still have hope that things will get better, but I'm getting older and discouraged. Have tried everything from Ayurveda to acupuncture to whatever. I'll check out the site you mentioned. Thanks.”
